History#
Back in her middle school days, Mina Ashido was considered a favorite by peers to become a future hero due to her looks, personality, and strong Quirk, being capable of making bullies and the bullied get along. When her friends were approached by a gigantic threatening figure, Mina built the courage to stand up against the monster and trick it into leaving herself and her friends alone, breaking down into tears right after as Eijiro Kirishima just watched.[1]
Mina took the U.A. Entrance Exam alongside Eijiro, with both being approved in the end. As they met for their first day in U.A. High School, Mina noticed Eijiro's new look and attitude towards his goal in becoming a hero. She became interested in whether Eijiro had truly changed or not, asking for the boy to tell her once he became sure of his new persona.[2]

U.S.J. Arc#
Mina is seen with other students getting on the bus to head for the park for their training. Upon arriving, they are attacked by villains and got separated.[6] Mina is saved from being warped by Rikido Sato and she and Ochaco help her in detaining Kurogiri long enough for Tenya to go for help.[7] Mina is horrified when Thirteen is wounded and this lasted until All Might arrives and, upon seeing him, she starts to cry out of joy.[8]
After that experience, All Might comments that those who are in Class A will be great heroes. Mina is shown to still be shaken by the events.
U.A. Sports Festival Arc#
Mina places 19th in the Obstacle Race, allowing her to participate in the next event, the Cavalry Battle.[9] She teams up with Katsuki Bakugo, Eijiro Kirishima, and Hanta Sero.
After Neito takes her team's headband, Mina is worried when she sees Katsuki's fury after he states that they will beat them before going after Izuku.[10] Mina and her team battle Neito's team but Neito rebukes their efforts.[11] After Katsuki grabs two of Neito's headbands and Hanta, Katsuki still wants more points and orders his team to attack; having Hanta use his Quirk and has Mina use her dissolving fluid. Eijiro and his team ride on Mina's fluid to reach Neito's team faster thanks to Hanta reeling in his tape. Katsuki attacks Neito for the final time and grabs his last headband, which places their team at second place.
Katsuki, however, wants to collect the ten million point headband and Mina goes with her team to where Izuku's team and Shoto's team are. Mina and her team reach their destination, but the Cavalry Battle ends before they could do anything. However, Katsuki's last minute actions allowed Mina and her team to reach second place, allowing them to participate in the final event. Tsuyu congratulates Mina for qualifying for the next event, but Mina states that Katsuki added her to his team as an answer to Shoto's ice and has doubt whether she can match up with their strength.[12]
After Denki and Minoru state that the girls must do the cheering battle as per orders from their homeroom teacher, Mina and the other girls of Class 1-A walk out in cheerleading outfits. However, as Mina and the girls walk out, they realize they have been tricked.[13] When Mashirao decides to resign from the tournament event, Mina tries to help him reconsider but it does not work.
During the recreational events, Mina is seen cheerleading.[14] Mina's opponent in the first round of the tournament is Yuga Aoyama. During the match, Mina used a strategy that exploits Yuga's weakness. She kept at a distance narrowly avoiding his laser blast causing Yuga to overuse his belt, causing him to feel stomach pains and, in that moment, Mina attacks Yuga with a one-hit KO to his jaw, knocking him out and defeating him, allowing her to move on to the next round.[15]
Mina faces her opponent, Fumikage, in her second round match. However, Fumikage defeats her, eliminating her from the tournament.[16]
Mina watches the match between Fumikage and Katsuki. She cheers for Fumikage.[17] Mina along with her class watches the closing ceremony of U.A.'s Sports Festival.[18]
Vs. Hero Killer Arc#
Two days after the Sports Festival, Mina is in class having a discussion with some of her classmates. During the Hero Informatics, Class 1-A have to decide on their Hero Names, supervised by Midnight. Mina writes down and presents her Hero name: Ridley Hero "Alien Queen". However, Midnight tells Mina to change her name, finding it to be scary (although it would also invite trouble for copyright reasons). Afterwards, Mina changes her Hero name to "Pinky".[19]
After Class 1-A is finished formulating their Hero names, Mina is given a list of 40 workplaces in order to choose a workplace that she wants to train at. Mashirao talks to her, noting that she should have more nominations because she put on a good show in the Sports Festival. On the day of the workplace training, Mina is at the train station with her class so that she can travel to the workplace of her choice by train. She is excited until her teacher tells her to settle down.[20] The workplace training comes to an end and Mina returns to U.A.
In Class 1-A, Mina talks to Tsuyu and Kyoka about their workplace training. During Foundational Heroes Studies, Mina, along with Izuku, Tenya, Mashirao, and Hanta, is the first group to partake in the rescue training race. The race begins and Mina uses her Quirk to maneuver around the construction site and she is shocked when Izuku quickly takes the lead with her being speechless at his newly improved skills before he accidentally trips and loses the race. Eventually, Mina completes the race as All Might commends the group for improving their Quirks broadly since entering U.A. and asks them to prepare for the end-of-term test.[21]
After Foundational Hero Studies is finished, Mina is in the girls' locker room and changes into her school uniform. Mina becomes annoyed that Minoru tried to peek on her and the other girls.[22]
Final Exams Arc#
Mina and Denki admit that they haven't been studying due to the many events that have taken place throughout the semester. Back in class, Izuku reveals the content of the exercise test to the class, much to Mina and Denki's happiness; Mezo notes that they are happy because they don't have to adjust their Quirks for real life opponents. Throughout the final week before the end of term test, Mina studies under Momo's tutoring along with Denki, Kyoka, Hanta, and Mashirao.
On the day of the exercise test, Class 1-A is Shota says that without a doubt they have some knowledge on the exercise test, to which Mina and Denki exclaim that it will be fighting against robots. However, Mr. Principal bursts Mina and Denki's bubble by revealing that they will be fighting against U.A.'s teachers for the exercise test.[23]
Mina is paired with Denki and they must fight Mr. Principal in their test exercise. Mina, Denki, and Mr. Principal arrive in an uninhabited city where Class 1-A's test exercise will take place. In the city, Mr. Principal explains the 30-minute test; Mina and Denki must either handcuff him or one of them must escape the battlefield within 30 minutes in order to win and pass the test.[24]
Denki and Mina struggle against Nezu who has commandeered a wrecking ball and uses it to block off the roads leading to the escape gate.[25] Denki and Mina are unable to get to the escape gate or handcuff Mr. Principal and as a result, they fail the practical test.[26]
Back in class at U.A., Mina is crestfallen that she is unable to go to the forest lodge due to failing the practical test. Soon, Shota enters the classroom and informs Class 1-A that all of them are going to the forest lodge which will be a boot camp, much to Mina's happiness.
However, Mina will be receiving harsher training at the boot camp for failing the practical test. Mina, along with the class, go to Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall to buy necessities for the forest lodge.[27]
My Hero Academia: Two Heroes#
Prior to arriving to I-Island, Momo tells Mina and the other girls after school that she has two extra invites to the I-Island Expo Preview. After a game of 5-way rock paper scissors, it's decided that Ochaco and Kyoka will attend, leaving Mina upset. Ochaco and Kyoka recall this when they explain how they got invited to the I-Island Expo Preview, with Ochaco revealing that the other three girls are on the island, but they cannot go to the preview.
After the I-Island system is hijacked, Mina, Toru, and Tsuyu, stay in their hotel room to follow the emergency protocol. Minutes later, Tsuyu discovers that the phone service and internet aren't working. Mina finds out the TV channels aren't working either. Toru says that they're "roughing it ladies," and suggests that they play some games instead.
Mina hangs out with the rest of her class after the I-Island Expo opens up.[28]
Forest Training Camp Arc#
The next day after the shopping trip, at U.A., Shota informs Class 1-A that the destination for their lodge trip has been changed and the new destination will only be announced on the day of the event. The first semester has come to a close and summer break has begun. On the day of the event, Class 1-A boards a bus that will take them to the forest lodge destination.
An hour later, Class 1-A's bus stops for a restroom break. There, they meet Pixie-Bob and Mandalay, two members of the Wild, Wild Pussycats, who challenge the students to reach base camp past the forest in three hours. Then, all Class 1-A is forcibly thrown into The Beast's Forest by Pixie-Bob's Quirk.
Monsters made from dirt clods attack the students. Class 1-A works together to fight their way through Beast's Forest.[29] They encounter several different dirt monsters and Class 1-A begins traversing the forest fighting the creatures. Collaborating with Toru, who acts as bait, Mina melts the legs of several monsters with her acid, leaving them defenseless.[30]
Class 1-A doesn't make it through the forest for several hours. Well over their time limit, Class 1-A arrives at the base camp exhausted and battered. Pixie-Bob admits that she thought they would take longer to get there. Class 1-A fetch their luggage from the bus and put it in their rooms, then head to the dining hall to have dinner, and after this, Class 1-A go to the hot springs. At the hot springs, Mina thanks Kota for stopping Minoru from trying to peek on them.[31]
The next day at 5:30 AM, Class 1-A are outside the training camp cabin. Shota greets his students and tells them that they will undergo reinforcement training to strengthen and upgrade their Quirks. Mina trains her Quirk by intermittently creating acid to increase her skin's durability. Afterward, Class 1-A and 1-B are tasked with cooking for themselves.[32] Then, Mina and the other students who failed their practical's take extra lessons with Shota until two in the morning. Training starts back up at seven the next day. Mina, Eijiro, Denki, Rikido, and Hanta are all super tired, but Shota forces them to train anyway.
After another day of intense training, Mina is happy because that night they will participate in a courage test. Shota, however, forces the extra lessons group to sit out for more teaching, much to their displeasure.[33] The Vanguard Action Squad of the League of Villains invade that night. Mandalay sends out a telepathic message warning the students of their arrival.[34] Shortly after Shota leaves, Mandalay sends out two more messages giving permission for students to fight back[35] and informing everyone that Katsuki is one of the villain's targets.[36]
Hideout Raid Arc#
The villains successfully kidnap Katsuki and the students return home from camp. Two days later, Mina visits Izuku in the hospital along with many of her peers. There, she knows the plan of Eijiro and Shoto to rescue Katsuki. Although she does not participate in it, she does not oppose the intentions of her classmates.[37]
Provisional Hero License Exam Arc#
Following the intense villain attacks toward U.A. students and the rescue of Katsuki, Nezu orders the construction of a series of buildings to transform U.A. into a boarding school in order to protect the students. As Class 1-A arrives at their dorm, Mina is overjoyed at how big their new dorm is.
Before the class could enter, Shota scolded Momo, Eijiro, Izuku, Tenya and Shoto for acting as if they had already obtained their temporary licenses. He further more says he would have expelled everyone but Katsuki, Toru, and Kyoka (due to them being captured and hospitalized, respectively) from the school, if it weren't for All Might's sudden retirement and asked them to stick to the rules from now on.
Afterwards, the class explore their new dorm, which Mina instantly loving the place. After everyone moved in and decorated their room, Mina suggests that they make a room showcasing competition. Izuku's room is the first on the list. Next is Fumikage's room, though he resists at first and blocks the door, Toru and Mina can shove him aside, though they find his room to be too dark and scary. Afterwards, they look into Yuga's room, a room filled with lights, disco balls, mirrors and other sparkly things. Mina is unimpressed and simply notes that she expected a room like this.
They skip Minoru's room due to his creepy behavior. Mashirao's room is next, though they fail to describe it as anything but "normal". Ida's room was filled with books and a lot of back up glasses, Mina puts one on as joke. The next room belongs to Denki, though the girls are mostly unimpressed. As they enter Koji's room, Mina and Ochaco start to fawn over his pet bunny and play with it.[38]
Minoru then suggests that the boys get to see the girls' rooms too, which the girls agree to but first they want to continue the tour with Eijiro's room. He doesn't mind though he doubts that the girls will like his room, which Mina confirms. As they enter Shoji's room, Mina is disappointed at how empty it is. She likes Hanta's room though, due to its traditional Asian design. As the group reaches Shoto's room the girls are curious what his room may look like and are amazed by its traditional Japanese style.
The last room among the boys is Sato's room, where a chiffon cake was already baking. He offers it to the rest of the class which the girls gleefully accept. As she eats the cake, she points out how much of a plus point he got for the cake, compared to Hanta. The group then skim through the girls' rooms rather quickly, first Kyoka, then Toru, then Mina, then Ochaco and Momo last, Tsuyu didn't join because she didn't feel well. At the end of the tour, the girls decide that Sato won because his cake was tasty.[39]
The next day, Shota announces that Class 1-A will be working on developing their own special moves, much to the class' excitement. The class visits the Gym Gamma, where Cementoss creates a training ground for the class with Ectoplasm using his Quirk to create villains for the class to practice their moves on. During the training she tries to fire an acid-hose from her spread palms, however, it doesn't shoot very far, to which Ectoplasm suggests her to place her palms onto each other and shoot the acid out of the gap, which successfully lets her shoot her acid further away. Ectoplasm suggests her to aim at small targets next.[40]
After four days of training, Vlad King and Class B come to announce that the Hero Qualification exam will start soon, with Neito Monoma pointing out that half of the people taking the test fail. Later that evening the Class 1-A girls are relaxing in the dorm's lounge, asking about each other's progress with their training. When Ochaco can't answer about her progress, Mina suspects that she fell in love with a boy. Even though it visibly flusters Ochaco, Mina keeps questioning her.[41]
On the day where the Hero Qualification Exam starts, Class 1-A arrive at the test location, along with several other classes from other hero schools. Mina and Hanta wonder why the energetic Inasa Yoarashi likes U.A. so much since he declined entering the school. She then marvels at the heroine Ms. Joke because she asked Shota to marry her. Shortly after the exam starts, the first part of the exam involves thinning out the amount of people who can succeed by playing a game, where people put three marks on their body and are given six balls to throw at the other examinee's marks. Those whose marks have been hit are disqualified.
As the exam starts, the students of the other schools focus entirely on U.A. Mina manages to deflect several with her acid.[42] Two enemy students work together to attack U.A., one hardens a bunch of throwing balls, another one throws them underground in an arc, making them shoot out of the ground just before hitting Minoru, however, Mina manages to block them once again with her super move, Acid Veil. The U.A. students are then separated by Yo Shindo's Quirk, that let him create an earthquake and shattered the ground apart.[43]
Mina managed to regroup up with Mashirao, Minoru, and Toru during the exam. As the exam reached its end, Mina and her group managed to locate Tenya and Yuga, thanks to him firing his laser into the sky. Fumikage, Koji and Rikido also joined and helped their classmates fend off the several opponents. Together all of Class 1-A passed the first round.[44]
Mina waits with her classmates until the Second Exam of the Provisional Hero License Exam begins. It consists of a rescue mission, and the scenario is that a villain terrorist attack has destroyed the city and there are many victims. The students are expected to rescue H.U.C employees who will act as victims. Fumikage, Koji, Mashirao, and Mina form a rescue group and head to the mountain zone.[45] Mina performs the rescues until the exam becomes more complicated when Gang Orca and his Sidekicks arrive, acting as Villains.[46]
Mina, along with Fumikage and Mashirao, arrives to help the evacuation effort at the waterfront[47] When they have a chance, the three go to face the villains, and Mina uses her Quirks to attack and knock down some goons until the end of the exam is announced, and the provisional hero license exam is officially closed.
The results of the Provisional Hero License Exam are presented on the screen, and Mina is one of the students who passes the exam, receiving her provisional license,[48] although she is surprised to learn that Shoto failed the exam.[49]
Shie Hassaikai Arc#
Next day to the Provisional Hero License Exam, Shota tells Class 1-A about Hero Work-Studies, hero activities done off campus, saying that it is a more formalized version of the Field Training they did with pro heroes before. Three days later, Shota Aizawa introduces Class 1-A to the people who will teach them about Hero Internships; the third-year students who rank among the top of all U.A. students known as The Big 3: Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki and Nejire Hado.[50]
The personalities of the three students leave Class 1-A confused, who get even more confused when Mirio Togata challenges them all to a fight. At Gym Gamma, Mirio tells Class 1-A to attack him whenever and wherever they want.[51] Mina, like the rest of her classmates, attacks him, but thanks to his Quirk Permeation, Mirio easily defeats all students of Class 1-A.
As Class 1-A recovers, Mirio asks them if they think his Quirk is strong, and Mina, with Toru and Hanta, replies that his Quirk is too strong and she even asks her if he is a some kind of hybrid with two Quirks, like Todoroki. Mirio explains that he has one Quirk called "Permeation" and grants him the ability to phase his body through physical matter. Mina compares Mirio's quirk as a video game glitch, which Mirio finds hilarious. He states that the reason he wanted to fight Class 1-A is to show the experience he gained from the Hero Work-Studies. Thanks to that, Mirio was able to make his Quirk more powerful and reach the top. Class 1-A applauds Mirio's speech and they realize what the work-study could do for their skills.[52]
Days later, in Class 1-A, Mina notices the injuries on Katsuki's face, to which Denki mentions that Shoto's face also has injuries, which shocks her. Both Katsuki and Shoto have been through rigorous training at the Provisional License Training Course.[53] A few more days later, Mina congratulates Ochaco and Tsuyu for their hero debut as they helped Nejire in taking down two Giant villains.[54]
Remedial Course Arc#
Days after the police raid at the base of Shie Hassaikai, Izuku, Eijiro, Ochaco, and Tsuyu return to their dormitories at the school, where the entirety of Class 1-A checking to make sure their intern classmates are doing okay, physically and mentally, after their mission.
Mina asks Eijiro about his state of mind, causing Eijiro to reply that he still has a long way to go; Mina accepts Eijiro's thoughts. Mina then talks to Ochaco and Tsuyu, who brings them the Koji's pet bunny to help them cheer up.[55]
U.A. School Festival Arc#
At Class 1-A's Heights Alliance, Mina Ashido is showing off her dance moves, which impresses some of her classmates. Interested, Izuku Midoriya decides to learn some dance moves from Mina that may be useful to his combat style. Mina is happy to teach him.
Later in the classroom, Shota Aizawa announces that U.A. High School will be having a School Festival and tells Class 1-A to pick out a program to perform at the festival. Tenya Ida asks ideas from Class 1-A; Mina suggests dancing, but her but classmates suggest other things they did not reach an agreement.
That night, at Height Alliance, students continue to decide what to do for the festival. Mina keeps suggesting to dance, to which Shoto unexpectedly agrees and goes on to say that relieving stress where everyone can have fun is a great idea. Mina's idea is combined with other suggestions, and finally, the entire Class 1-A decides that its school festival program will be a live performance and dance with party space. Mina herself volunteers to teach her classmates how to dance.[56]
Class 1-A students are divided into three groups: the Band team, staging team, and the dance team, with Mina as the one in charge of teaching her fellow classmates dance moves.[57] Until the festival, the dance team constantly practices the choreography, and on the appointed day, the performance of class 1-A ends up being a huge success.[58]
Joint Training Arc#
During the Joint Training session between Classes 1-A and 1-B, Mina Ashido is placed on a team with Izuku, Ochaco, and Minoru. His team faces Neito's team in Round 5, consisting of Neito Monoma, Yui Kodai, Nirengeki Shoda, Reiko Yanagi, and Hitoshi Shinso.[59]
As the teams enter Ground Gamma, Class 1-A's team realizes they're at a disadvantage, as all of them have more physical Quirks and are therefore vulnerable to Class 1-B's long-range attacks. Mina suggests they try to catch them by setting a trap, and Izuku volunteers to act as a decoy in an attempt to draw their opponents out. Mina asks if Izuku's Quirk is okay, as he said something unusual was happening with it before, but he says it's fine and he's feeling okay.[60]
Izuku leaps out ahead of his team, knowing that Class 1-B can't ignore him and stands out on purpose, fulfilling his act as a decoy, while Mina, Ochaco and Minoru are left behind, preparing traps against Class 1-B. Meanwhile, Izuku deals with Neito and Hitoshi, the rest of the class 1-B attack Deku's teammates, and Ochaco and Mina use their quirks to defend against their attacks.
Suddenly, something goes wrong with Izuku.[61] Mysterious black tendrils bursts out of his arm, which indiscriminately attack both allies and adversaries.[62] Thanks to the rapid intervention of Ochaco and Hitoshi, Izuku was able to regain control. Despite Izuku's chaotic outburst, all of the students are still eager to win the fight.[63][64]
Mina fires her Acid Shot attack at the other team, but Yui blocks it with an enlarged plate of metal. Minoru protects Mina from a Nirengeki's Twin Impact attack using his Grape Buckler shield. The recoil sends him flying right into Mina's breasts, all according to his plan. Annoyed, she throws him at the other team using her Acid Layback and Minoru bounces off his own balls for a Grape-Pinky Combo Mineta Bounce attack.[65]
Finally, the team in class 1-A ends up winning. After Ochaco defeated and locked up Neito, she chops Reiko's neck to subdue her and then pushes Yui into a trap made of Minoru's balls, which gives Mina an opening to uppercut Nirengeki. At the same time, Izuku pins down Hitoshi.[66]
After the round, Izuku thanks Hitoshi and Ochaco for helping him earlier. Mina teases Ochaco for grabbing onto Izuku so hard in her attempt to save him. This causes both Izuku and Ochaco to blush rapidly.[67] Also. Mina wants Eraser Head to punish Minoru for being a "disgusting creep" after the stunt he pulled during the match, much to his dismay.[68]
Later, while Classes 1-A and B hanging out together after the exercise, Mina subjects Minoru to the Ludovico technique for his actions.[69]
My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising#
During fall, the Hero Public Safety Commission devises the Hero Work Recommendation Project, to help to train the new generation of Heroes due All Might retirement. Weeks go by, and shortly after winter begins, after the Hero Interview Training, Class 1-A is sent to Nabu Island, a remote place in southern Japan. The Pro Heroes who protected the island are about to retire, so the students will take care of the place, performing duties as real heroes acting like their own "Hero Office", until the arrival of new Pro Heroes.
Because Nabu Island is quite isolated from the rest of the country, and therefore far from any villain activity, there has been no notable incident since the last thirty years. For this reason, their work on the island involves mostly minor deeds. Mina is sitting around in the Hero Agency headquarters on the island, taking calls and dispatching Class 1-A members to help out people around the island. Later, She and Yuga use their Quirks to clearing a highway road blocked by boulders.
The next day, Mina is at the office taking calls. She gets a call from a tourist to help out to report that her suitcase has disappeared. Mina dispatches Toru and Yuga to the commercial area. When she hears Minoru complaining about the tourist, but Mina tricks him by telling him that the girl sounded really cute on the phone. Minoru immediately changes goes to help too.
Unfortunately that same day the island is attacked by Nine and his gang. A neighbor and Fumikage arrive at the office to report that the commercial area and the beach are under attack. Tenya quickly organizes the class to face these threats: Mina, Kyoka, and Momo assist their classmate and Nabu inhabitants with medical evacuation. After Eijiro, Katsuki and Denki saved Yuga, Minoru, and Toru from the villain Mummy, the girls bring them to safety as well as direct the citizens to the safe hold. The villain is defeated and all the citizens of the area are evacuated.
Despite this, Class 1-A fails to defeat the remaining villains, and they are forced to retreat. At night, the Class A members regroup at a factory where the rest of the island citizens are currently staying at due to the villain attack. They provide food and first aid to the inhabitants of the island. Mina helps in the kitchens preparing meals for the refugees. She also asks Hanta about the villain that Katsuki had defeated, and he replies that he is locked up and chained inside the machine room, but he refuses to talk to any of them after they questioned the villain.
Later, Class 1-A has a meeting where they discover that the objective of the villain leader, Nine, is to steal the Cell Activation Quirk from a boy named Katsuma. With this information, they devise a plan to approach them in front and keep civilians safe. The plan is to lure the villains to the furthest corner of the island where ancient castle ruins are. The heroes will engage the villains using the terrain to their advantage and spit the villains apart, so each member has to face several students alone.
The next morning, Nine and his gang arrive at the entrance to the island. When the students see the villains approaching, they put their plan into action. Yuga Aoyama and Momo Yaoyorozu start attacking them from afar with their respective Quirks at full power. While Nine blocks the attack with his Air Wall Quirk, Slice and Chimera break away from the blast, unaware that they are falling right into Class 1-A's trap. The ground under Slice's feet collapses and she falls into an underground cave where Mina and Fumikage prepare to face her.
Fumikage engages close combat with Slice in his Black Ankh, with Mina providing support using her Acid Quirk. Despite using the darkness to his advantage, Fumikage proves to be unmatched for Slice and her swift combat agility. Fumikage makes an opening for Mina to destroy much of Slice's hair using her super move Acid Shot. However, the villain still has enough to fight back, and fires multiple barrages of sharp needles at them. Mina is seriously injured with three of the needle hairs piercing at her thigh.
Seeing his wounded classmate enraged Fumikage, and his Dark Shadow Quirk intensifies to become massively monstrous and viciously attacks Slice. The villain attempts to shoot her hair needles at the ceiling to allow more light to enter, but she is defeated by Fumikage after Dark Shadow grabbed her. However, the cavern collapsed on top of them. The sunlight from the sky nullifies Dark Shadow as Fumikage uses his body to shield the wounded Mina while the cavern buries all of them under piles of boulders.
While all three are buried, Izuku and Katsuki manage to defeat Nine, saving the island and its inhabitants in the process. Soon, a military force and a large number of heroes arrive on Nabu Island, rescuing the civilians and medically treating Class 1-A. Hawks himself rescues Fumikage and Mina from the pile of rocks. The villains are arrested, and Class 1-A continues to stay on Nabu Island to help repair the damage done by Nine and his villains until the Public Safety Commission suspends the program and orders them to be sent home. With the island being repaired by the military and the heroes, Class 1-A boards a ferry to return to the U.A. High School.[70]
Endeavor Agency Arc#
Mt. Lady is invited to the U.A. to give Class 1-A "Hero Interview Training" lessons. One by one, the students participate in a simulated interview.[71] A few days later, the Hero Work Recommendation Project takes place, staying on Nabu Island before returning.[70]
On the night of Christmas Eve, she celebrates Christmas with her classmates at the Heights Alliance. She and Denki are constantly trying to get Katsuki into a Santa outfit. They eventually succeed. When the class holds a surprise gift exchange, Mina gets a weight.[72]
With Hero Work-Studies back in effect, she, Yuga Aoyama, and Toru Hagakure[73] work under the No. 9 Pro Hero, Yoroi Musha.[74]
My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission#
Mina remains at U.A., being one of the five members of Class 1-A not to participate the international operation organized by the World Heroes Association against Humarise, an anti-Quirk cult led by Flect Turn that had recently carried out a terrorist attack with a Trigger Bomb, killing hundreds of people.
While she is at Heights Alliance, she watches on television the threat that Flect Turn broadcasts to the world, revealing Humarise had placed several Trigger Bombs in 25 cities around the world, where several of her classmates are. Said bombs will detonate in two hours to "cleanse" the population of their Quirks.
Fortunately, the terrorist threat was stopped in time by the heroes, among whom are several of her classmates, specifically Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki. Once the crisis has been averted, the classmates who were deployed during their Work-Study return back to Heights Alliance and celebrate their victory, with Mina shown jumping and celebrating with surprisingly Minoru of all people.[75]
Paranormal Liberation War Arc#
Winter break ends and the students return from their Work-Studies to show their progress with their Quirks and skills. In the girl's changing room, the girls comment about Ochaco's new costume. Mina fiddles with the belt of her costume. Ochaco tries to stop her but something falls out of it which is revealed to be the All Might keychain she got from Izuku for Christmas, much to Ochaco's embarrassment. Mina teases Ochaco for it but she denies any thoughts as she puts it away.[76]
At Ground Alpha, under the supervision of All Might, the students battle Villain Bots to show off the new skills and Super Moves they have developed. Mina, Yuga, and Toru are the first to show their improvement under the tutelage of Yoroi Musha. Mina uses her new Super Move Acidman to defeat the Villain Bots. When their demonstration ends, she bounces over to Eijiro, revealing that she was inspired by his Unbreakable to create her Acidman. Eijiro is pretty flattered that he and his move were her inspiration.
After Izuku ends his turn, he thanks Ochaco for helping him during the Joint Training Battle. Then they fist bump over the fact that they lift each other up. When Mina sees this, she can't help to jumps up and down excitedly.[77] Later at night, she helps her classmates to organize a Work Study/Brainstorm/Hot pot party to energize everyone for the new term.[78] Some time later, the Mission: Humarise takes place although Mina does not participate in it.[75]
The months go by until it's late March. The Hero Public Safety Commission had uncovered the plans of Tomura Shigaraki and his organization, the Paranormal Liberation Front. They organize a large force of heroes to take the villain organization down. While a team of heroes raid the Jaku General Hospital, where the Nomu are created, another team does the same at Gunga Mountain Villa, the Front's main headquarters.
Mina joins the Villa Backup Team along with some of her classmates and Class 1-B students. Their mission is to provide support to the heroes who raid the Gunga Mountain Villa and prevent villains from escaping.[79][80]
As the hospital team failed and Tomura Shigaraki woke up, Gigantomachia reacted and began to head his way. Several heroes attempt and fail to stop him, so Midnight advises Momo to make a plan to put the giant to sleep. For the plan, Momo produces 1L canisters of anesthetic for the students in the area, telling them that only one needs to be chucked into Gigantomachia's mouth to put him to sleep.[81]
The students deduce that because of the presence of blue flames, the League of Villains is riding on Gigantomachia's back. As Minoru worries for Midnight's safety, Mina assures them that she survived, as she still has more to teach at school. After Gigantomachia falls for the students' trap, they attempt to chuck a canister into his mouth, but fail. The situation is worsened when Dabi uses his flames to set the area on fire, preventing the students from advancing towards them. However, Mina manages to push through the flames using her Super Move, Acidman.[82]
As Mt. Lady holds the giant's mouth open, Mina advances and prepares to throw her canister into Gigantomachia's mouth. Unfortunately, at the same time, Gigantomachia realizes that he must first shake off the Heroes to get to his master as fast as possible. Upon realizing that Gigantomachia is the scary figure she faced back in middle school, Mina freezes up and loses grip on her canister. The giant manages to throw Mt. Lady to the side, knocking her out, and attempts to crush Mina with his hand.
Before Mina could be crushed by Gigantomachia, Eijiro jumps in just in time to push Mina out of the way, and he manages to grab Mina's canister. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu arrives and helps Mina to safety, while Eijiro climbs his way up Gigantomachia, where he manages to chuck Mina's canister into his mouth, after his canister was destroyed.
More heroes come to face the villains, but annoyed by the constant interruptions, Gigantomachia transforms,[83] taking on an armored appearance, and with his enormous strength he finally manages to get out of the trap and easily defeat the heroes. One of them, Majestic, used his Quirk to bring the students to safety before being defeated. Gigantomachia continues on his way to Tomura, destroying everything in his path. The students of U.A. only can watch astonished the destruction left by the monster, with some of them wondering if the drug will have an effect on the giant.[84]
Mina and her teammates continue to rescue, aid, and assist the wounded heroes, where they also inform Mirio about the sedative, which soon starts to take effect on the beast.[85] After the war had concluded, she, Eijiro, Momo, and Rikido find Midnight's corpse and tragically mourn her death.[86]
She is one of the classmates who is there in the hospital when Shoto is recovering from his injuries. Since she saw the broadcast, she is aware of Shoto's past and the truth about his older brother, and Mina tells Shoto it will be alright while crying, still mourning the death of Midnight. When Fuyumi and Natsuo enter the room, Mina greets them, assuming they're Shoto's siblings and informing them he can't talk due to injuries sustained to his throat.[87]
Later on, after she and the rest of the class resettled back at Heights Alliance, she and the class receive letters from Izuku explaining his past as being Quirkless and about One For All before leaving U.A. High.[88]
Dark Hero Arc#
A few days after Izuku left U.A., Mina and the rest of Class 1-A meet up to deduce that Izuku is now working with the top three heroes and All Might. She and her classmates were getting very impatient with their response, so they pushed forward using Endeavor's U.A. Alumni status to confront him, where they learn the truth.
Once Principal Nezu gives permission to allow the class to bring in Izuku back home to safety, they dispatch to search for Izuku across the country while at the same time, capturing any Tartarus escapees along the way. After a month of trailing in Izuku's whereabouts, Mina and Class 1-A arrive on the scene to defeat the villain Dictator and then apprehend Izuku. When he refused to give up the fight, Class 1-A pursues him.[89]
When Izuku reaches the point where he tries to fly further away from the class, they're forced to combine their powers using Mina's Acidman coated over Tenya and Shoto's Flashfreeze Heatwave to launch him and Katsuki off Shoto's ice ramp-up to Izuku, pushed further with Ochaco's Zero Gravity, with Katsuki using his Explosive Speed: Cluster to boost Tenya some more, launching straight at Izuku.[90]
Once Tenya catches Izuku, and they safely land, the rest of Class 1-A meet back up, with Mina telling Izuku she doesn't want to lose anyone anymore, and to return to U.A. so they can have classes together again, still reeling over Midnight's death. She listens to Katsuki apologizing to Izuku before he passes out. The rest of the class return to a heavily fortified U.A High and deal with the protesting civilians.[91]
They are aware that Tomura is after Izuku and fear them being in danger, leading Ochaco to give a pleading speech toward the crowd on why he needs their help and deserves to stay and rest, with the civilians eventually agreeing.[92] Izuku is escorted inside and washed down by the boys, and after they meet back up in the lounge room, Mina is one of the people who asks him some questions about his letter, before Shoto says to let him rest for now.
Later, All Might arrives and apologizes himself to Izuku for not helping him enough despite Izuku's protests. Mina demand an apology for leaving them abruptly as All Might says that the decisive battle is drawing near. He says that he'll do what he can to back them up, even with his weak body, and the students promise that they will protect everyone.
Happy with this, All Might decides to leave. Mina asks him where he's going, and he replies that he's going to to meet up with Endeavor and the rest of the Heroes. Before he leaves, Tokoyami asks All Might to tell Hawks he should message him. Mina asks him if he's angry or something, but Tokoyami simply says he's racked with concern.
After All Might's visit, Izuku finally passes out from exhaustion, and she joins the rest of the class in declaring they'll do whatever they can to bring back the world and make it better.[93]
Star and Stripe Arc#
Two days later, Class 1-A learn that during this time, Tomura had fought American No. 1 Hero, Star and Stripe, and while she was killed during the battle with Tomura successfully stealing her Quirk, New Order, thanks to her actions, the Quirk acted like a virus within his body, destroying several of his Quirks and delaying his procedure by about a week.
All Might informs all this to the class, telling them that this is now their perfect time to prepare for the inevitable all-out war. The class reveals over the past month they had been training with the Wild, Wild Pussycats in order to keep up with Izuku in the incoming conflict, and are now about to head out to continue their training.[94]
U.A. Traitor Arc#
The class proceed to train amongst themselves in the courtyards outside. Shortly after this, Mina alongside the rest of the class discover the news that Izuku has captured the Aoyamas and revealing Yuga to be the traitor who isolated the class at the U.S.J. and revealed the location of their training camp.
Once the Aoyamas are restrained, she and the other class refuse to back down from the news despite Nezu's request, all in stunned and tears of Yuga's betrayal. She listens to Yuga's desperation that drove him to despair and then Izuku pleading to let Yuga help them, leading the class to realize Yuga may be the only one able to deceive All For One.[95]
Shota then appears on a tablet screen, taking full responsibility and reveals that he has an idea. She listened to Shota's plan after the Aoyama Family's ears have been covered. Naomasa then has the Aoyama Family escorted back to their HQ, telling everyone not to say a word to anyone else about the plan while she and the rest of the class looking on sullenly.
Back at Heights Alliance, Mina takes a breather, before getting ready to gear back up, as she and everyone, with fire and rage in their eyes over the betrayal, prepares to bring All For One down once and for all.[96] Later, while Class A receives a briefing on their end of Eraser Head's strategy by Mt. Lady, Mina expresses her concerns about whether Yuga will take their hands, and Izuku assures her that he will. The students are split into three "Search Squads" with the mission of hunt down the villains and the remains of the Paranormal Liberation Front.[97]
Later that night she and her classmates return to Heights Alliance for a break having come up empty on their search. All Might, Naomasa, and Nezu then arrive, informing them all about the secret finalized plans for the Final War.[98] They bring in Hitoshi Shinso, to the class' excitement, learning that he has trained his Quirk to be able to get people to talk, and they will use this ability to allow the Aoyamas to deceive All For One.[99]
The next day, Nezu announces to the civilians that Tomura will make his big move in 4 days, with Class 1-A moving outside of the U.A. barrier to began prioritizing their safety. Mina says her goodbyes before moving out of Heights Alliance and into its upgraded makeshift fortress called "Troy".[98]
My Hero Academia: You're Next#
During Class 1-A's Quirk training, in preparation to hunt down the remaining members of the League of Villains and the Paranormal Liberation Front, Mina asks Izuku if it's confusing to manage six other Quirks while using One For All. Izuku says it is, but that aspect's manageable thanks to the Sixth User's advice to visualize all of them as tools being swapped around.
Izuku then shows his notebook and claims that, for fun, he wrote some hypotheses in a journal about how this mindset applies to his classmates' Quirks. Mina and Kyoka are surprised, and somewhat confused, that he does that kind of thing.
This catches the attention of the rest of their classmates, who swarm in to see see what he has written about them. Everyone is impressed with Izuku's analysis of them, though Katsuki takes offense by what was written about him, and causes a ruckus. All Might walks up to the class and says it's time to move out, as the students take off in an armored van to track down the Villains.[100]
Throughout the month, Mina is a member of Team 1 of Class 1-A, consisting of Katsuki, Fumikage, Eijiro, Koji, and Rikido,, to apprehend all the Jailbreakers who escaped from Tartarus and other maximum-security prisons across the country. The team rendezvous with Teams 2 and 3 for a break from combat, taking the chance to motivate each other, relax, and complain about the Villains.
However, they're suddenly attacked by a group of rogue Villains intent on stealing one of the Heroes' armored trucks. The U.A. students, expecting the attack, fight back and defeat them. The Villains are handed over to the police as All Might informs the students of new Villain sightings, and they split into three groups, following up on the reports.[101]
Later, her team defeated four Jailbreaker villains and took them to the nearest police station. Team 1 contacts Team 2 and 3 at a police station, who've also apprehended more villains and escapees. Hawks, via the Counter-Force, give the teams their next assignment: apprehend a Tartarus escapee, Ginji Kurau, who has been spotted nearby.
Mina and Team 1 heads over to apprehend Ginji before the other team does,, but team 3, led by Izuku, is the first to encounter the Jailbreaker, discovering that he is holding a woman named Anna Scervino. Izuku faces Ginji but the fight is interrupted first by Giulio Gandini, who tries to kill Anna, and then by the arrival of the Gollini Family, a mafia organization consisting of Bruno, Kamile, Deborah Gollini, Paulo, Simon, Ugo, Gil, and their masked leader, Valdo Gollini.
They take Anna, whom Deborah hypnotizes, and then Valdo undoes his mask, revealing that he has the appearance of prime All Might. After brutally defeating Ginji, he uses his Alchemy Quirk to create a microphone and several cameras and drones, hacking into every communication network. He announces to the country that he has come to "save Japan" from their despair caused by the war and vows that he will use his strength and power to promote justice and become the next Symbol of Peace in honor of All Might’s god-like powers.
Izuku calls him out with disgust over using violence and putting innocent civilians in danger, taiting All Might's legacy. Hearing his words, Valdo decides to prove Izuku wrong by using his powers. He touches the hypnotized Anna, and his powers tremendously increase as he uses his Quirk to transform their floating ship into a massive fortress, consuming everything in its path in an ocean of light.
Teams 1, 2, and 3 witness the rapid expansion of the transformation. The transformation light consumes Teams 2 and 3. In a panic, Team 2 tries to flee from the city in their truck, but the light is too fast and catches up with them, consuming Team 1 into the Fortress of All Might.
Mina and Team 2 regain consciousness and, along with her classmates, end up in different areas of the fortress, but they cannot communicate. Her team ended up in a night amusement park with a castle in the back end, and Mina rides one of the carousel horses to check that everything works, much to Katsuki’s annoyance from her antics. Katsuki decides the team heads to the outside world to find a way around the fortress.
They enter a castle in the amusement park and charge right in, where they encounter Valdo, now calling himself Dark Might and dressed in very flashy masquerade costume. The villain welcomes them to the Symbol of Paradise, which is what he calls his flying fortress, and explains that people admired All Might for his great power, and that he has decided to test them to prove they are worthy of joining his organization once he becomes All Might's successor as the new Symbol of Peace.
Speaking for his teammates, Katsuki refuses to accept the villain's proposal, claiming that, except for his physical appearance, he bears no resemblance to the real All Might. Outraged, Dark Might, who wants to test them to see if any are All Might's successors, sends them to an underground dungeon where Simon is waiting for them. He uses his Monster Summon Quirk to conjure multiple monsters, forcing them to fight their way out while Simon watches them on several screens, eagerly waiting to see who is going to survive the battle.
Fortunately, Mina and her team manage to find Simon by brute forcing their way through, and Katsuki defeats him by pulling the pin on his Grenadier Bracers, unleashing a large explosion at point-blank range. After being defeated, Dark Might throws Simon into an abyss as punishment for his failure.
The villain praises their efforts, but they will die in his fortress and summon more monsters to eliminate Team 2 completely. However, Mina and Team 1 blow their way out of the dungeon and into a town after defeating Dark Might's puppet monsters, encountering the rest of the Class A teams and the kidnapped civilians as well as Giulio. On behalf of his team, Katsuki declares that they're not going to let anyone die while they're still going to be Heroes, vowing to crush the Villains and the fake All Might.
During the absence of team 1, Giulio told to their classmates he was a butler who worked for Anna's family, since thanks to his Neutralization Quirk he could keep Anna's under control. Her Quirk, Overmodification, allows her to greatly enhance the Quirk factors of some compatible individuals. However, her quirk was becoming more uncontrollable and dangerous as time went by.
The situation worsened after the Gollini kidnapped her and began abusing her power, which would put many lives in danger if they were not stopped. Unfortunately, Giulio explains that he had lost his right arm during Gollini's attack, so he could no longer use his Quirk, so his only option was to kill Anna before it was too late, just as Anna herself had made him promise before her kidnapping. The members of teams 2 and 3 manage to convince Giulio to try to save Anna without having to kill her and, shortly after their arrival, team 1 also agrees to help Giulio and defeat the fake All Might.
Meanwhile, after the students had managed to defeat several of his subordinates, Dark Might orders to change the course of the flying fortress and head directly to the U.A. Shelter. He then broadcasts to the students that he will become the new Symbol of Peace when he destroys All Might and the last remnants of the Heroes still at the U.A., and he will then be the one they can rely on. Class A organize to prevent this, and while Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto, Fumikage and Giulio head to face the villains, Mina and the remaining students of Class 1-A round up the civilians and prepare to leave the fortress.
While leading the civilians to safety, the students hear explosions coming from outside the flying fortress and assume it is the heroes trying to assault the Symbol of Paradise. Then they receive help from Mirio, who easily infiltrates the fortress with his Permeation and helps direct everyone towards the exit. Outside the town, thousands of monsters conjured by the fortress appear to stop them. Class 1-A volunteers to cover the civilians and fight the monsters while Mirio and some classmates escort the civilians to safety.
The class pushes back against monsters, with Mina using her Acid to melt away the monsters. However, Class 1-A is starting to lose the battle of attrition against the fortress monsters as every time they destroy them, more monsters keep generating, and on the verge of their defeat, the Heroes from outside manage to get inside the fortress and back them up. While fighting off the monsters, Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto, and Giulio defeat Dark Might, causing the fortress to stop conjuring the monsters. Mirio defeats Kamille, halting the fortress as it starts falling from the sky.
Although the danger seems to be over, Anna loses control of her Quirk, and Valdo regains consciousness and uses her enhanced properties to turn himself into a colossal monster. Giulio manages to touch Anna, and his own Neutralization Quirk becomes greatly enhanced, allowing him to use it on Anna finally. With Dark Might vulnerable, Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki defeat him definitively. With the Gollini Family defeated, the U.A. Shelter is safe, and everyone cheers on the Heroes and Class 1-A for their valiant victory. Eijiro and the rest of the class watch as Anna decides to stay with Giulio, now that her Quirk is finally nullified for good.[102]
Final War Arc#
While training to prepare for the final confrontation against All For One and his lackeys, Mina asked Katsuki and Shoto for advice on how to improve her Quirk. She was thinking about how she hadn't been able to do much against Gigantomachia last time, and it let so much death and destruction. Determined to prevent that from happening again, she applied Katsuki and Shoto's training methods to improve her acid abilities.[103]
Finally, the day of the final battle arrived, and the Heroes put their plan into effect as they manage to lure All For One and his army of villains out in the open by using Izuku and Yuga as baits, and using Kurogiri's Warp Gate Quirk, and with Monoma using Kurogiri's Warp Gate Quirk, they manage to split the opponents up all over Japan.
While the majority of her classmates and the Pro Heroes are assigned to face off against the major generals of the Paranormal Liberation Front, Mina is sent on a team led by Mt. Lady, which includes Eijiro, Minoru, and several 1-B students, to the ruins of the Jaku General Hospital, where Gigantomachia's Detainment Facility is stationed. Their plan is to defend it from the villains which they believe will try to attack and free the beast.
As the battle is in progress, she and her classmates hear the news that Shoto has prevailed and defeated his brother, Dabi, giving them the willpower and boost in morale to continue on their fight against the villains. Just then, Mina overhears one of the commanders of the Paranormal Liberation Front stating that even despite the Heroes' preparation, their sacrifice will be in vein, as anyone who stands against liberation will be run into the ground, just like a certain "U.A. Teacher". Mina ends up stunned, realizing he's talking about Midnight, when Eijiro arrives beside her, saying the area's been properly secured, and after Shoto showed them how manly he was, they have to do their part now.[104]
While the team is able to take out most of the threats, several Villains are able to escape into the air using their Quirks, and using an ultra-high frequency emitter to broadcast All For One's voice, successfully re-awaken Gigantomachia, who promptly breaks free from his containment, shocking Mina. Even worse is right at this time, Eijiro attempts to find Hitoshi, who had accompanied them, to brainwash Machia, only to find him being absorbed by the Sludge Villain.
Seeing Mt. Lady and Eijiro struggling against their opponents, Mina thinks about how she couldn't pull it off last time, but since then she had Katsuki and Shoto fill her in on their special training method, as she refuses to fail to protect those she cares about any longer. Pushing her Quirk to its maximum viscosity, Mina blasts out her new Ultimate Move: Acidman - Alma right into Machia's claws, so potent that it melts right through his hardened skin, saving Mt. Lady's life.
Due to the high acidity of her Quirk, her left arm was badly scarred, but Mina endures through the pain and aids Eijiro in freeing Hitoshi from the Sludge Villain by shoving her hand into its sludge mass body, pouring her Acid inside. The Sludge Villain freaks out and is forced to spit out Hitoshi before trying to escape, promptly being brainwashed by Hitoshi.
Mina then states that Mezo never gave into revenge, and she loved Midnight's classes, but she knows things all about fear because she is weak, which makes her want to get close to people, believing that is what defines everyone, for both them and even the Villains too. Hitoshi uses his Persona Chords on Machia, allowing him to brainwash the behemoth and orders him to attack the airborne villains, annihilating all of them.
Mina becomes severely dehydrated as the result of pushing her acid to the limit, and starts to faint before Eijiro tends to her, managing to say that she paid him back for when he saved her, but he just responds she never owed him anything, because she's always been his hero. With Machia under their control, the rest of the Villains are apprehended, while the Jaku Team are requested to aid the Gunga Team in engaging All For One.[103]
As Mina recovers, Shota had managed to regain control of "Kurogiri" and warps himself around to gather up all the Heroes that can still fight to provide reinforcements for the final battle. Mina, alongside most of her 1-A classmates, are warped to Mt. Fuji to help Izuku in his fight against "All For One". She mentions how she heard Shota managed to win over Kurogiri, as her and all the assembled Heroes declare "We are here!"[105]
As Izuku runs toward "All For One", the villain unleashed hordes of Quirk attack all over the battlefield, blasting away every Hero who gets in his way, but they all keep countering against his attacks. Shota then calls out to the Heroes through their comms, telling them to help Izuku carve a straight path to Tomura. "All For One" retaliates by sending a large Rivet Stab structure to crush Izuku, but Eijiro, Mina, and Fat Gum rush in and block it, with Eijiro and Mina telling him he's got it and to get it done, which he says he will.[106] Eventually, Izuku manages to defeat "All For One" once and for all, just before he succumbs to his injuries and dies as his body disintegrates into ashes.[107]
One week after the end of the Final War, the restoration efforts that were stalled after the Jaku Hospital Raid have picked back up at a breakneck pace, as Heroes from around the world arrived to provide support and resources in rescue and rebuilding Japan. A few weeks later, Mina returns to the partially rebuilt U.A.[108]
Epilogue Arc#
Later, in June, Mina attends the U.A. High Graduation along with the rest of her classmates. She watches the Third years receive their diplomas from Principal Nezu, including Tamaki, Nejire, and Mirio. Mirio also gives a motivational farewell speech, speaking about the need for a bright future where people can smile.
After graduation, Class 1-A becomes 2-A and moves to a temporary classroom, where Shota states that they were supposed to be getting a different homeroom teacher, but due to the circumstances, he will be their homeroom teacher for another year, to the students' excitement. Mina is so happy that Shota is still their teacher that she can barely hold back her tears of joy.
Yuga then enters to say goodbye, having decided to leave U.A. to atone for his crimes, vowing to become a true hero from scratch. To keep everyone else from crying, he shoots his Navel Laser everywhere, with Mina commenting on how intense the light is. Yuga then reveals that Hitoshi will be taking his place as Class A's newest member. Mina and several of her classmates are happy about it.
Feeling left out by everyone's excitement over Hitoshi, Yuga shoots his lasers again, asking his former classmates to start planning his farewell party. Toru calls Yuga to stop, as his light causes her Quirk to glitch again as she becomes visible. The students are surprised to see how beautiful she is, and Mina doesn't hesitate to hug her, much to Toru's embarrassment.
After things calmed down, their senior Mawata Fuwa announces that during the next weeks, the second and third-year students will participate in reconstruction and patrol tasks throughout the country under her supervision.[109]
The next day, after the new first-years mobbed Katsuki and Shoto in an excess of admiration and had to be scolded by Tenya, Class 2-A join up with some Heroes in a city on reconstruction duty, assisting Fat Gum, Suneater, and Best Jeanist in demolishing and repairing a section of buildings. As reconstruction treks on, local civilians provide food for the students to eat for lunch, as a thank you for their help and hard work.
At that moment another bus arrives, bringing the first-year students. Their homeroom teacher, Cementoss, explains they insisted on helping with the reconstruction efforts in order to be of use and to make up for their earlier misgivings. They are given minor tasks to assist while class 2-A rest-
Later that night, because they eased up on dormitory requirements, students who wanted to go back home could, Ochaco decides to go home for a bit. Tsuyu had noticed that Ochaco was suffering despite trying to pretend everything was fine, and she tried to contact her, but Ochaco wasn't responding to her text messages. Concerned, Tsuyu decides to tell the rest of the class about what's happening, and immediately everyone goes out to look for her.[110]
Mina and the rest of Class A head over to the hillside of former Troy to check on her, only to see that Izuku had come before the class and Ochaco seems to be doing well. While they comfort her, Katsuki asks Izuku about the embers of One For All he just used up. The class freaks out upon learning that Izuku only has embers remaining of One For All, and swarms over him to get the details and scolding him for leaving them in the dark, which the boy quickly agrees to fill them in on.
Later, Class 2-A celebrate their goodbye party for Yuga, with Eri singing for the first time in front of the entire class while Kyoka plays the guitar.[111]
As time passes, Class A becomes Third Year and focuses on their reconstruction efforts while doing Hero work. Finally, it was time for Class A's graduation ceremony, and all Third Year Students from Class A, B, and Support Course are prepared to have their diplomas ready. After receiving her diploma from Principal Nezu, Mina listens to Tenya's farewell speech about their hard work, which ends with a bang with a huge explosion caused by Katsuki and Monoma.
In the eight years following her graduation, Mina becomes a fully-fledged hero, becoming popular with the young crowd. Besides her hero duties, Mina also keeps her fans captivated by taking part in major dance events
Meanwhile, Izuku is now a teacher at U.A., and due to his loss of One For All, Mina and her former classmates funded the creation of a mechanical armor similar to Armored All Might for Izuku. They have to pool a lot of funding from their Hero Work to help making the suit with the aid of Melissa and Mei.
Once the suit was done, All Might delivers the surprise gift for Izuku, who tears up and smiles to be able to be a hero again. When Hawks mentions traffic being backed up because of a landslide on WarStar Road and requesting Heroes who can respond, Izuku puts on his new "Armored Deku" suit and is joined by the rest of his former classmates. As they head to the landside, Mina joins the rest of her fellow Heroes of Class A.[112]
At a restaurant, the former students of Class A celebrate Shoto's new Number 2 Hero ranking on the Hero Billboard Chart JP. The classmates discuss amongst themselves the differing nature of the hero rankings nowadays, and joking around about each other's placements and their current statues as Heroes and Sidekicks. Rikido mentions his surprise everyone has been able to get together once again, which Mashirao states is due to the decreasing number of Villains every year. Fumikage remarks on the Heroes both old and new that have continued fighting all this time, thinking that eventually Heroes are headed towards extinction. Suddenly, everyone receives a notification of a criminal's Quirk causing a lot of damage, as the former classmates blast off together.
The incident is quickly resolved, as the criminal is arrested, noting that it was just a "sudden impulse". The group decide to split up for the night, with all of them going their separate ways.[113]
