Ginji Kurau, also known as Ginji, is a Villain who escaped Tartarus due to a prison riot caused by All For One.[1] He serves as a minor antagonist in My Hero Academia: You're Next.
Appearance#
Ginji appears as a young adult with scruffy white hair, gold eyes, a strong built body, and an intimidating expression. He has noticeable fangs rather than normal teeth and due to his Quirk, has a large mouth centered on his stomach with cerated teeth.
After being effected by Overmodification, Ginji's body grew slightly and gained extra mouth-like appendages from his shoulders.
Upon another unintentional usage of the Quirk, Ginji's body darkened and reddened, with his stomach mouth becoming more monstrous and growing more mouth appendages on his shoulders.
After Dark Might dealt a powerful blow to him, Ginji was reverted mostly back to normal with his teeth in his normal mouth shattered and chest having a faint dark pattern from his previous form.
Personality#
Ginji is an equal opportunist who only seems to take interest in causing mayhem to the public. This was seen with Ginji immediately focusing his new modified powers to wreak havoc. It doesn't matter who he works for, as long as it benefits him, as seen with his alliances with Gollini Family, and then with Anna, where he sided with both only to soon betray them for his own interests.
Being a Villain, he has very little care for the lives of citizens as seen when he bulldozed through a building to escape from Dark Might, not minding about the civilians that were going to be toppled by the debris. Upon being confronted by Dark Might, Ginji was particularly enraged at the All Might imposter, rushing and trying to attack him with his modified Quirk, only to be swiftly defeated as payback for betraying the Gollini Family.
History#
Ginji was a dangerous Villain who would rampage across communities until he was eventually defeated and apprehended by Best Jeanist, being brought in to Tartarus for his crimes.[1] During his sentencing, Tomura Shigaraki, under the control of All For One, broke into Tartarus before laying waste to it and other maximum security prisons, with Ginji amongst the inmates who escaped after All For One's jailbreak.[2]

My Hero Academia: You're Next#
While on the run, Ginji formed an alliance with the Gollini Family, with it being revealed that he was one of the few compatible with Anna Scervino's Quirk, Overmodification, an ability that can modify and drastically boost other Quirks. Desperate for help, Anna pleaded with Ginji and the two formed a deal, that Anna would modify Ginji's Quirk, and in exchange, he would help her escape from the Gollini's captivity. Ginji ended up blindsiding Paulo Gollini and managed to escape with Anna.
After getting out however, Ginji went back on his word and chose to use his modified Mad Gluttony Quirk to go on a rampage. He laughs and boasts that he outsmarted the Gollini family and snatched Anna from them, and that with her by his side, he believes that he would be unstoppable with her Quirk. Anna cries that Ginji lied to her, but the villain smugly says that he doesn't remember that and she must have heard him wrong.
Class 1-A are notified on Ginji's rampage and are dispatched to capture him. While running with Anna, one of the U.A. teams crosses Ginji path, forcing him to divert his direction through a building in order to evade them. Tailman realizes that he's heading towards an evacuation shelter, which would put the lives of civilians in danger. Deku goes ahead to try to stop him before this happens, noticing that Ginji looks different than his profile.
Ginji tries to get rid of him by throwing debris at him, but Deku dodges it and tries to save the girl, but touching her causes Deku to seize up in pain and and falls over as a result of of being incompatible her Quirk. Ginji takes the opportunity to run away, still with Anna in his grasp.
He breaks into the evacuation shelter, where ome evacuees open fire on him, but Ginji brushes off their attacks as he starts to cause destruction. He uses one of his mouths to try and grab another person to take hostage, but Deku snares him with Blackwhip. During the struggle, Deku shouts for the civilians to evacuate the building. Ginji receives another modification from Anna, sprouting more black mouths all over his body, surprising Deku.
The fight is taken outside, but Ginji is sniped from a distance by Giulio Gandini, who is trying to assassinate Anna out of a promise he made to her. One of the shots manages to injure Ginji in the arm, causing him to drop Anna, who is willing to allow Giulio to kill her. Giulio shoots Anna but a strange bubble appears around her that slows down the bullet, to everyone's surprise. Then Bruno Gollini emerges from the shadows, having used his Delay Spot Quirk to save Anna's life. Without fully understanding what is going on, Ginji tries to take Anna, but the moment he enters the time bubble his movements also slow down.
Giulio fires at Anna several times before Deku stops him from firing again, but all of his shots are slowed down once they enter the bubble. Bruno retrieves Anna while Delay spot is able to move with them. Ginji unfreezes, but is hit by some of Giulio's bullets, just before the rest of Deku's group arrive. Everything is interrupted by the arrival of the Gollini Family's flying boat, to Ginji's displeasure, and the mysterious suited leader of the mafia presents himself, taking off his mask to reveal that he looks like All Might, much to everyone's shock.
Knowing that he will be punished for having betrayed them, Ginji tries to flee taking advantage of the confusion. Class 1-A pursue him, but the jailbreaker destroys nearby buildings and highway supports, forcing them to save civilians caught in the scene. Ginji manages to get far enough away, regretting having lost the girl, but "All Might" soon catches up and lands in front of him.
He comments that he suspected Ginji may have been compatible with Anna's Quirk but didn't expect him to betray them, expressing his disappointment. Furious, Ginji rushes and tries to attack "All Might", but the latter says that he'll have to teach him a lesson before using his Quirk to launch a massive glowing fist at the villain, taking him down immediately. Ginji is thrown back into a bridge, causing even more destruction as he lands next to Deku before reverting back to his normal form. Ginji is arrested thereafter.[3]

Mad Gluttony: Ginji's Quirk allows him to devour objects from the giant mouth in his stomach. When enhanced by Overmodification, he can sprout mouths from anywhere on his body.
