Reiko Yanagi, also known as Emily, was a student in Class 1-B at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.
Eight years after the Final War, Reiko has graduated from U.A. and has become a Pro Hero.
Appearance#
Reiko is a notably pallid, slender young woman who usually stands with an upright posture and has a somewhat ghost-like appearance. She has pale silver, pin-straight hair that drapes down just above her chin in an unkempt pixie-bob. Sporting a sharp side-swept patch of hair that obscures the entirety of her left face, followed with a pair of half-lidded eyes that have pointed lower eyelashes and are dark prussian-blue in color. Paired with thin brows and a small mouth that has rather plump lips.
Her first Hero Costume consists of a light periwinkle-blue kimono that flows down her legs and has a huge, puffy hood encircled at the back of her neck. It has long, flared sleeves that slung down her wrists, followed with a white double-striped, navy-blue colored band that lines around her upper abdomen. Paired with matching colored boots that have dark flat soles, alongside an off-piece mask that connects to her lower face as well as the end of her neck.
Following the timeskip, Reiko's hair has grown significantly longer and is styled to be much straighter. Her current costume consists of a pure white kimono with lengthy sleeves and black trimming, and wears collared black boots with a pair of geta.
Personality#
Reiko is a quiet and emotionless teenager who often shows an odd body posture, wherein she keeps her elbows to her side and lets her hands dangle, which somewhat resembles ancient depictions of zombies, ghosts, and other undead creatures, alluding to her Quirk.
Befitting her Quirk and appearance, Reiko is shown to be a fan of horror and enjoys reading scary stories online. She also frequently hosts horror movie watch parties with her class.[3] Despite this, though, she can come off as rather timid at times, as she seemed intimidated by Neito Monoma's ranting towards Class 1-A and referred to him as scary. Outside of this, Reiko can also be helpful, as she served as Itsuka Kendo's attendant during the U.A. School Festival's Beauty Pageant, which suggests that she has a good fashion sense.
She can also be quite cryptic with her wording, as she referred to Izuku Midoriya as "spooky", causing her classmate to clarify what she says to those not familiar with her.
Abilities#
Overall Abilities: As a Hero Course student, Reiko has shown to be quite formidable and has a good handle on her Quirk, Poltergeist, which allows her to move objects and use them as projectiles in battle telekinetically. During the final round of the Joint Training Battle, Reiko displayed great camaraderie with her classmates Nirengeki Shoda and Yui Kodai; Reiko's levitated objects were made bigger and more challenging to dodge by Yui, while Nirengeki made the said objects launch faster and deliver more damage upon impact. Reiko's Quirk handling allowed her team to launch long-range attacks on their opponents without revealing their location. Despite her group having technical superpowers that worked in concert with one another, Reiko was swiftly defeated by Ochaco Uraraka. In the Final War, Reiko and Yui proved pivotal in aiding Mt. Lady to subdue a re-awakened Gigantomachia by supplying the giant Lurker with enlarged levitating weapons. This collaboration was maintained until a confrontation with All For One, where the Symbol of Evil overpowered the group of heroes.
Tactical Intellect: Reiko has also proven to be quite analytical of her opponents as before her team's match started, she identified Izuku Midoriya as their biggest threat with the substantial and improved power of his Quirk, speed, mobility, and recently acquired ability to perform long-ranged attacks.
Quirk#
Poltergeist:[2] Reiko's Quirk allows her to control nearby objects telekinetically. The weight limit of her Quirk is roughly the weight of the average human.
For offense, Reiko can levitate multiple objects at once and send them flying at her target at high speed.
