Division is the one hundred and forty-fourth episode of the My Hero Academia anime and the sixth episode of the seventh season.
Summary#
Back when All Might, Naomasa, and Nezu, came to visit Class 1-A after they failed to find leads on the Paranormal Liberation Front and the League of Villains, they informed the students that their so-far fruitless search efforts aren't in vain.
While the search efforts are helpful, the main point of them in relation to their big plan is to lead All For One into a false sense of security, and potentially make him easier to track down with time. This also operates on the assumption that the Villain still has access to Search, so he will have a constant view of the Heroes making supposed sloppy moves to hunt him and his allies down. Once he's reachable, Yuga, who agreed to assisting in Eraser Head's plan, will be used as bait to lure All For One out of hiding.
The students rejoice at having their classmate back on their side, though Momo worries about her friend's and his parents' safety, as the Aoyamas said that All For One will kill them if they attempt to deceive him. All Might eases her worries and says they have a solution for that, since All For One only contacts them through voice calls. The man believes All For One likely has some sort of Quirk that helps him detect lies through speech, so Eraser Head plans to use "him" to circumvent that. All Might then asks the person to the interest to come inside, as Hitoshi greets the class in his new Hero costume.
Tsuyu is perplexed that Hitoshi's Brainwashing being useful in this case, since he can't make his brainwashed victims talk or do anything that requires thinking. Hitoshi sheepishly says he's trained his Quirk intensively with Eraser Head to break past those limitations by the time he would be transferred into the Hero course, though finds it awkward since none of the students have moved on to the next grade yet. Using Brainwashing, Hitoshi is tasked with controlling the speech of the Aoyamas when they have their next phone call with All For One, eliminating any conscious emotion or feelings from mixing into their words.
Fumikage then asks how the Heroes are eventually supposed to deal with the massive amounts of Villains all at once, since they too would have to gather in one location and compromise their element of surprise. All Might and Naomasa says they have a work around for that too, which also involves the cooperation of another person.
At Central Hospital, Neito is staring at the restrained Kurogiri along with Eraser Head and Vlad King, while thinking over All Might and the others' request for him to Copy and master Warp Gate for the next couple days for the final battle. Eraser Head then apologizes to Neito for pushing this on him, since he and Present Mic weren't able to reach out to Kurogiri. He then brings up another request the student was given: for Neito to do same with his Erasure, since his Quirk Factor has become so damaged that the ability is functionally useless in his hands. Neito is reminded by how people used to tell him he can't be a Hero with a codependent Quirk like his, and that his ability is more fitting for a "side character".
Vlad King comfortingly puts an arm around his student and affirms that their plan to stop the Villains once and for all won't work if just one person is absent, and that there are no "side characters" in this operation. Neito looks up at Kurogiri confidently, as his teacher tells that up to now and from this point on, he's the star of the show.
Back in the present, Neito, fully embracing his Phantom Thief moniker, mockingly laughs at All For One and the other Villans while more Heroes flood in through his perfectly replicated Warp Gates. From a control room, Naomasa tells the other squads of Heroes to start moving, and All Might declares that their plan to take down all of the Villains starts now.
On the Villains' side, "Tomura" tries to Decay the ground, but something inside him stops him from going through with it. Dabi, now wearing a new all-white outfit, immediately rushes into fight Endeavor. His long-awaited clash with his father is halted by a sudden burst of ice on the battlefield, as Shoto emerges from a portal to take on his older brother.
As the last remaining Heroes make it through the portals, All Might yells for everyone to activate Operation Troy. From the ground, a horde of metal cages erupt and corral most of the Villains into isolated groups. The cages then start rocketing forward into another set of portals made by Neito, as some of the Heroes split off into teams to pursue the cages and pick off all the Villains in different locations.
Unfortunately, the Villains figure the plan quickly and begin breaking through their cages. The Heroes accounted for this, and took advantage of the few seconds they have until their opponents begin running loose to forcefully push them back with their Quirks. All the cages managed to get through their respective portals, with the squad dealing with the cage housing "Tomura" close behind them. Just before they make it through however, Deku, who was a part of that team, is dragged into another portal by a wire, which Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight barely manages to catch before both disappear into the portals.
All Might quickly tells Fat Gum to guard Can't Stop Twinkling and lead the other Heroes to take down the straggling Villains and orders Phantom Thief to return to Eraser Head's location through the portals. Phase Two of Operation Troy then commences, as the Heroes and their sectioned-off Villains pop out of the portals into their new battlefields.
In the ruins of the Gunga Mountain Villa, a now freed and floating All For One is greeted with a strike by Hawks on his life support mask using a pair of artificial feather blades. Hawks apologizes to Endeavor for not being able to cut through his equipment, as the No. 1 Hero tells him to not beat himself up about it. All For One commends Endeavor and the other Heroes for such a well thought out strategy but says it should've accounted for whether or not his adversaries have an actual chance of beating them.
He then mockingly calls Endeavor cruel for going along with a plan with such dubious matchups, such as pitting "Tomura" directly against Deku, and both of his sons at Ground Zero of Kamino Ward, equating it to his youngest son cleaning up his mistakes and further abusing his oldest son.
At U.A., which is now floating in the sky on a giant piece of earth pushed by a rocket, and surrounded by a giant, electromagnetic barrier, "Tomura", the only Villain to be warped here, is pushed through the portals along with Suneater, Edgeshot, Mirko, Nejire Chan, and Dynamight, who is quick to inform an already-present Best Jeanist that Deku was dragged into the incorrect portal.
Deku was thrown into the gate leading to Okuto Island by Himiko, after her cage was starting to bust open. Uravity and Froppy, who were part of the task force designated to handle the Villain, freak out at Deku's sudden appearance, as the boy notices that Danger Sense never activated before he was taken here.
Suneater grows worried, as Deku was the key to their battle plan for "Tomura", but Mirko eggs everyone on to fight the Villain anyway. "Tomura" lands on the ground below and, after telling himself not to hesitate again like before, begins to erode it. But then he is suddenly flung into the barrier by a rising cube of metal platforms and electrocuted.
Best Jeanist wraps the immobilized "Tomura" with several metal wires using Fiber Master and flings him around the arena. The Villain then notices that the metal blocks disintegrated shortly after hitting the open air, and realizes it is a countermeasure to stop Decay from spreading rampantly.
While there seems to be an eventuality that the Heroes will soon run out of ground to stand on, Best Jeanist points out how the holes made by the cubes are being instantly refilled, stating that this "Coffin in the Sky" built out of the school grounds has been perfectly designed to defeat him. Hard at work backing up that claim, Mei, Cementoss, Creati, Power Loader, and the other members of the Support course are constantly working underground to repair the damage "Tomura" inflicts on the battlefield. Its barrier is also being maintained by a massive generator powered by Chargebolt, Comicman, Yuyu, and another third-year student.
As the other Heroes begin to pile pressure on to "Tomura" with large-scale attacks, "Tomura" tries to fire off a blast of Radio Waves to disable the Coffin in the Sky. After noticing his Quirk not working, he turns to see a laughing Phantom Thief stationed on a nearby platform and using Erasure, as he touches Eraser Head to constantly reset his time limit on Copy, while having his eyes hydrated by Manual to prevent him from blinking. The teacher is concerned despite the rest of their operation going smoothly, as Deku was the crux for it succeeding, and "Tomura's" body is now at 100% completion.
As Mirko moves into to kick "Tomura", the Villain swings around and slams her with large wave of mangled fingers that began sprouting out of his right hand. The Heroes are mortified and confused at the unidentifiable attack, as the Villain calmly tells Eraser Head that he's disappointed at how uncool he became just now.

Anime & Manga Differences#
- The anime slightly extends Class 1-A's reaction to Hitoshi's appearance, and the news that Yuga will be helping them in their fight.
- In the anime, when "Tomura" is about to touch the ground at the start of the battle, he is held back by himself. In the manga, his hand twitches right above the goo puddle and he spreads his fingers away from the ground.
- More Heroes are shown shoving the cages into the Warp Gates in the anime.
- In the manga, Hawks strikes All For One the second he exits his portal. In the anime, All For One starts recognizing the Gunga Mountain Villa ruins before Hawks attacks him. Additionally, Hawks strikes him with a cross slash instead of a singular one.
- The anime shows Deku exiting the portal leading to Okuto Island and recognizing Himiko as the one who ensnared him.
- The anime shows a flashback featuring Mei, Cementoss, Power Loader, Ectoplasm, and several civilians planning and building the materials needed for the Coffin in the Sky.
- An extra moment of Nejire Chan and Dynamight countering an attack from "Tomura" is added in the anime.
- When the Heroes engage "Tomura", the anime shows them attacking in separate turns instead of all at once.
- The anime adds a scene of Mirko going in for a kick on "Tomura", just before he hits her with his finger growth.
