The Heights Alliance is a group of several dormitories inside the U.A. High School campus, where its students are currently housed.
History#
The establishment of the Heights Alliance was ruminated by the U.A. faculty for a considerable amount of time. Following the intense Villain attacks toward U.A. students, Nezu transformed U.A. into a boarding school with on site dorms in order to protect its students. The Heights Alliance was built in just three days. During this time, the teachers visited their students' families to gain permission for them to live there. It is meant to protect the students and allows the teachers to keep close surveillance on the students.[1]
The night after moving in, the students of Class 1-A decided to have a best room contest (more specifically, the girls decided and the guys were dragged along into it). After seeing all the rooms and setting a "no voting for yourself" rule, everyone voted on their favorite room. Rikido Sato was victorious because all the girls voted for him; although, it wasn't because they liked his room the most, but because he had just baked a cake to share with everyone.
Following the Final War and the defeat of the Paranormal Liberation Front, living at Heights Alliance is no longer mandatory, with U.A. students being allowed to decide whether they wish to live in the dormitories or at home.[2] Of the student body, Izuku Midoriya and Ochaco Uraraka appeared to have taken up the offer to live at home for the remainder of their time at U.A.[3]
Location#
The Heights Alliance dorms are located on U.A.'s main campus in Musutafu, Japan. There are many dorm buildings for every U.A. class, with each of them just being a five-minute walk from the main building.[4]
Exterior Design#
The Heights Alliance dormitories are large buildings with five floors separated into two wings, with each building having its respective class name posted above a sign that reads "Alliance". Each building is circled by low hedge bushes that leave a path open to the entrance, which is comprised of two sets of double doors. Alongside the pathway are two park benches and two towers with lights on them. The first level of the building is white while the upper levels are colored brown on the outside[4], with a courtyard outside the first level as well.
Interior Design#
Each dorm building is designed to hold one class of twenty students, though it could house as many as thirty-two. The first floor is a common area with couches, tables, television, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. Dorm rooms begin on the second floor and end on the fifth floor; each floor has eight rooms in total, four rooms per gender. Males are assigned to the left wing and females are assigned to the right wing.
Every student gets their own room equipped with air conditioning, toilets, beds, fridges, closets, and a balcony. Ochaco Uraraka, coming from a lower-income family, compares the size of the building to a mansion. Momo Yaoyorozu, on the other hand, who had a wealthy upbringing, says the dorm rooms are close to the size of the closets at her estate. Students are able to customize their rooms to their own liking, such as Shoto Todoroki's room being more Japanese-style, similar to the one at his home.

Trivia#
- The only students from Class 1-A who have not had their bedroom designs revealed visually are Katsuki Bakugo, Minoru Mineta, and Tsuyu Asui.
- The reasons why their rooms were not shown during 1-A's best room competition are because Katsuki was already asleep, Tsuyu did not want to leave her room as she still felt guilty over her words regarding Katsuki's rescue, and the girls didn't want to go into Minoru's room because of his perverted nature.
- Minoru's bedroom is described in My Hero Academia: School Briefs III, and is stated to be filled with stacks of magazines and posters of nearly or completely naked women all over.[5]
- The Q&A section of Volume World Heroes describes Katsuki's room as unexpectedly smart, Tsuyu's room as somewhat ethnic, and Minoru's room as disgusting.[6]
- The third databook likens Tsuyu's room to a paludarium, with tons of plants and moss.[7]
- The reason why Momo's room is so cramped is because she used her furniture from home. She lives in a gigantic mansion and didn't account for how "small" the dorms would be.
- Even while moving in, Momo had brought too many of her belongings from home and was forced to send the majority of it back.[5]
- Shoto's room is uniquely fitted with Japanese decor, including tatami mats and shoji window panels (fitting the furniture he is used to at his family's home) which he installed himself. He acquired his room's furnishings from a warehouse located in U.A., which Recovery Girl gave him access to after he helped her out.[5]
- The girls' bathing area in the 1-A dormitory is fitted with an "Anti-Peeping Device" created by Mei Hatsume, as the girls didn't want to live under the worry that Minoru would peep on them. However, as an extra precaution, Mei programmed the device to patrol the dorms at night, leading to the class believing that it was a ghost haunting the dormitory.[5]
- On the left side Denki's room, hidden behind his clothing shelf is a poster for the 1963 Toho film Atragon.
