A Piece of Cake is a one-shot spin-off manga written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, that serves as a prequel to My Hero Academia: You're Next, included in the Volume Next tie-in book.
Synopsis#
During Class 1-A's Quirk training, in preparation to hunt down the remaining members of the League of Villains and the Paranormal Liberation Front, Mina asks Izuku if it's confusing to manage six other Quirks while using One For All. Izuku says it is, but that aspect's manageable thanks to the Sixth User's advice to visualize all of them as tools being swapped around.
For fun, Izuku wrote in a journal some hypotheticals in regard to this mindset applying to his classmates' Quirks and how they could interact with one another in team-up scenarios. Mina, Toru, Rikido, Fumikage, Mashirao, and Kyoka, then ask to see the book. As the latter two start reading it, Izuku tries to walk away in embarrassment before Ochaco and Tsuyu stop him.
The class is impressed with the depth of Izuku's casual analysis of them, though Katsuki takes offense to the fact that Izuku wrote that a team-up with Shoto would make the pair invincible. Shoto asks for clarification, with Katsuki assuming that the notes say he can't be invincible without Shoto's help.
Katsuki claims that his Cluster technique outclasses Shoto by a sizable margin, and that the latter's Flashfreeze Heatwave is a rip-off of that. Shoto tries to put a positive spin on this and says if it's true then they might just develop Ultimate Moves under similar mindsets, which angers Katsuki even more. As they and the rest of the class do their usual banter, Hanta remarks that it's not a bad thing to get stronger by collaborating like this, thinking it's cool.
All Might walks up to the class and says it's time to move out, though not before agreeing with Hanta's judgment. As the students take off in an armored van to track down the Villains, All Might, in the U.A. Barrier's control room, wonders how The Mother of Quirks would feel about this current era. He tries to imagine her scolding him for being afraid to lean on others for support, as he places a hand on his briefcase. All Might hopes she would if they met, as the era for a Symbol of Peace is already over, because it's "their" turn.
As he says this, a figure resembling an empowered All Might, a blonde woman, a man with an eyepatch, and Class 1-A, look out to make their moves.
