Mawata Fuwa, was a student in Class 2-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero.[1] After the Final War, Mawata moved up a year, becoming a student in Class 3-A.
Eight years later, Mawata has graduated from U.A., becoming a Pro Hero.
Appearance#
Mawata is a girl with layered light pink hair that reaches down to her shoulders, her straight bangs parted to the left, tucked behind her ear, and left to fall over her eye on the right. She has round, gray eyes that slope slightly downwards towards the sides of her face, framed by rather long eyelashes and noticeably dark eye make-up, their light pupils appearing to be shaped like small stars or clouds.
As well as the standard female uniform for U.A., Mawata wears a pair of puffy, cotton ball-shaped earrings.
Her hero costume is a fluffy white sleeveless jacket, with black arm bracers, while her cotton ball earrings are now significantly larger.
Eight years after the Final War, her hero costume is now a darker shade of pink and includes a hat.
Personality#
Mawata is a cheerful girl with a lax and carefree demeanor. Despite this, she is capable of being a serious and responsible upperclassman, being made Class 2-A's point of contact during Japan's restoration following the Final War and letting the students know to contact her if they needed anything. Following this formal introduction however, Mawata returned to her usual self, openly referring to Eraser Head as "Era-sen" and showing jealousy that none of Class 2-A were expelled by him.
However, out of all her classmates, Mawata is the only one to look back on her class' expulsion fondly, saying that because of that experience, they were all taught what being Heroes truly means. This shows that despite her lackadaisical attitude, she understands and respects Eraser Head's way of teaching.
Synopsis#
History#
Mawata was formerly a first year student of Eraser Head, and would fear his harsh training during this time. One day she and her classmates were expelled by him during a lesson, only to have them re-enrolled right after so they can "experience a death" and strive to be better.[2]
Paranormal Liberation War Arc#
When Eraser Head leaves with Present Mic to Tartarus, Class 2-A takes notice of how grumpy he looked before he left and compares his expression to that which he wore when expelling someone, while also remembering the time he expelled the whole class, only to have them re-enrolled. As her classmates share their thoughts, Mawata states that, while admittedly it was bad that people had to be expelled, it was also an event that helped the class grow overall. Her classmates disagree though, saying that because of the incident everyone in Class 2-A now has a permanent mark on their record.[2]
Final War Arc#
Mawata takes part in the final battle of the Final War, in which all the remaining Heroes faced off against "All For One". She and the rest of the Heroes were warped to Mt. Fuji by Eraser Head and "Kurogiri" and began to counterattack against "All For One's" massive stockpile of Quirks.[3]
She assisted all the Heroes in keeping "All For One" busy, allowing Izuku Midoriya to rush forward in a straight path towards him, and execute a final deadly blow to the Villain,[4] resulting in Tomura succumbing to his injuries as his body disintegrated into ashes.[5]
Epilogue Arc#
In the following month of June, the third-year students at U.A. High finally have their graduation after the end of the Final War. Mawata comes to the stage to give the students a farewell speech. After she does this as the students' representative, the graduates' representative, Mirio Togata gives a speech to all the students.
Shortly afterwards, Mawata speaks to the new Class 2-A, telling them that the second and third years of the hero course will be joining the greater restoration effort, which she is in charge of organizing; in addition to the restoration projects, they'll also be involved in the nationwide effort to maintain law and order. She continues that they've made it past All Might's retirement and the war in Jaku City, reminding them that after all the major battles in their textbooks, there's a period of chaos the books don't talk about. Mawata then casually addresses Eraser Head as "Era-sen", surprising the students, as she reveals she used to be in his class, and is jealous they weren't expelled like her. She mentions despite that, he gave them a taste of "death", and it's thanks to that they realized why they wanted to be Heroes, causing Eraser Head to feel embarrassed, before she leaves.[6]
