Central Hospital

ArticleSource revision

Central Hospital is a health care institution located in Tokyo.[1] The hospital is considered the best place for state-of-the-art medical care.[2]

Exterior#

The Central Hospital is a huge building located in the middle of the city, rising above the surrounding buildings.

Interior#

The interior looks like a normal hospital, although it has more advanced equipment for treating patients.

History#

Several years ago, when Toya Todoroki began to show burns on his body due to his Quirk, Enji and Rei took their son to Central Hospital to discuss his condition. The doctor explains that while Toya had inherited the powerful fire Quirk from Enji, unfortunately he also inherited his mother's physical condition, meaning his body was meant to withstand freezing temperatures but not fire. The doctor told the parents that creating "custom children" was taboo and ill-advised, before informing them that Toya shouldn't use his Quirk for his own well-being, saying that worst-case scenario, he would burn himself and end up in the hospital's emergency room.[3]

Synopsis#

Meta Liberation Army Arc#

Following the Revival Celebration, Re-Destro ended up being injured and lost his legs to Tomura Shigaraki. To cover up the real cause of his loss, Twice made a Double of him to act as the CEO of Detnerat who was supposedly recovering at the Central Hospital, while the real Re-Destro was allowed to dedicate his undivided attention to furthering the liberation ideology.[1] The Re-Destro double would be later released from the hospital and continued to act as the company's president until a deal gone-wrong with the Hero Public Safety Commission, where he was ambushed and managed to kill Madam President, before melting away due to his injuries.

Paranormal Liberation War Arc#

In order to win favor with the League of Villains by killing a Hero, Hawks convinced Best Jeanist to help fake his death. Inspired by the designs of the Nomu, Central Hospital put Best Jeanist into a "death-like state", allowing Hawks to trick the Villains. Shortly before the Paranormal Liberation War, Hawks secretly sent the body back to Central Hospital, who then revived Best Jeanist back to normal.[4]

After Oboro Shirakumo's re-awakening within the Nomu, Kurogiri, it was decided to secretly transfer him and the other Nomu in custody from Tartarus to Central Hospital for restorative research.[5]

In the aftermath of the War, the Heroes were unable to prevent Tomura Shigaraki and several of his allies from escaping, which resulted in several of them who participated being killed in the conflict, as well as many being fatally wounded. Most of these wounded Heroes were taken to Central Hospital for their recovery treatment.[2]

Thanks to the cutting-edge medical treatment and Recovery Girl's arrival at the hospital, a large number of patients recovered and were discharged, even despite the seemingly deadly injuries.[6]

Dark Hero Arc#

Lady Nagant is admitted into Central Hospital after she explodes from the inside out due to a failsafe that All For One left within her, with her just barely being alive yet comatose to everyone's surprise.[7]

U.A. Traitor Arc#

After it is discovered that Yuga Aoyama and his parents were secret spies for All For One, they are apprehended by the Police Force and taken to Central Hospital for study and interrogation. They are able to determine that unlike Lady Nagant, they don't have an explosive fail-safe within them.[8]

Final War Arc#

Despite the Heroes attempts at spreading false rumors, the Villains learn that Central Hospital is where Kurogiri is located, and plan an assault to free him. They use Spinner to lead an army of heteromorphs, consisting of Paranormal Liberation Front members and civilians who support their cause, to storm the building, leaving only a handful of Heroes and the Police Force to defend it.

A gigantified Spinner succeeds in breaking into the building, bulldozing his way past the innocent doctors and nurses defending the place, with this rampage being enough to turn most of the heteromorph army against the attack. However despite Present Mic's attempts to stop it, Spinner succeeds in freeing Kurogiri, who immediately escapes.[9]

While everyone outside, friend and foe, are rushed into the Hospital for safety, a still recovering Lady Nagant ignores the doctor's orders and heads on top of the building to use her Quirk to help aid in the fight against Tomura on the floating U.A. High.[10]
