Wave Motion is the Quirk used by Nejire Hado.[1]
Description#
Wave Motion grants the user the ability to convert their vitality into energy that they can discharge as blast waves.
Upon release, the energy converted from their stamina is unleashed as golden energy that travels in the form of a spiral. The amount of vitality converted can be adjusted by Nejire at will.
Weaknesses#
While powerful and useful, the energy produced from this Quirk naturally spirals and doesn't travel very fast as a result. Converting too much stamina can also wear out Nejire if she overuses her Quirk.
Usage#
Nejire is very proficient at using her powerful Quirk to its fullest. Despite its lack of speed, Nejire utilizes the energy surges to boost her own mobility. By doing so, she can quickly close the gap between her and the target before unleashing blast waves at close range. The waves have proven to be very effective against large enemies who also lack speed.[1]
Nejire can control how much energy she wants to output and can release it from her palms and her feet. By releasing small amounts under her feet, Nejire can levitate herself with fine control. She can defend herself and use the waves to attack from long range. A combination of the aforementioned applications is effective for Nejire controlling a battlefield and keeping her distance.[2] Her overall fighting style and Quirk handling are reminiscent to how Katsuki Bakugo utilizes his Explosion Quirk. Nejire can also attack with her Quirk in close range combat, adding more force behind her punches and kicks.
Nejire also uses her Quirk for support and capturing purposes. During the destruction of Jaku City, she used her waves as propellers, carrying and pushing both vehicles and citizens inside her waves to safety. When she was saving civilians in Kansai, she restrained a giant sludge villain inside her Quirk, capturing him. During her battle with Tomura Shigaraki, Nejire sent her waves to Mirio as a source of power and physical enhancement for his punches, and allowed Tamaki to consume the energy in order to power his Plasma Cannon. This further illustrates Nejire's great control over her Quirk, as she was able to lower the vitality level to the point where it did not cause physical harm to nearby objects or people, but in a way that did not impede its offensive capability.
Activating her Quirk requires Nejire to drain her own stamina. She can suffer from fatigue if she overuses it. Through intense training and Quirk development, this has allowed Nejire to build up an immense amount of vitality and makes her resistant to stamina draining Quirks.[1]
Ultimate Moves#
Nejire Wave: This attack blasts her enemies with a powerful wave. It is strong enough to simultaneously take down two villains with Gigantification Quirks.[2]
Pike: Nejire channels her Nejire Wave into a point, with the intention of piercing her opponent. She can also redirect it mid-attack.[3]
Nejire Flood: Nejire charges her Wave Motion Quirk to output 100. She then releases a massive blast of energy at her opponent.[4]
