Pro Heroes & Trainees vs. Himiko Toga & Doubles

ArticleSource revision

Pro Heroes & Trainees vs. Himiko Toga & Doubles is a battle taken place during the Final War between the remaining Heroes at the Gunga Mountains, against Himiko Toga and an army of Twice Doubles.

Prologue#

Several days before the start of the Final War, Izuku Midoriya talks to Ochaco Uraraka about their feelings regarding their Villains. She admits to him that during her big speech at U.A., she was thinking about her last encounter with Himiko Toga and how she looked sad after Ochaco gave her retort. Despite all the lives lost because of her and the Paranormal Liberation Front, and the aftermath it left hero society in, part of her still wants to learn more about what's "obvious" for her. She tries putting those silly thoughts away, but Izuku reassures her by admitting during his fight with Tomura Shigaraki, he saw a little crying boy inside of him, and that he can't ignore what he saw either, to which Ochaco says they're both weird.[1]

As the War rages on, with Uravity battling Himiko on Okuto Island, Himiko succeeds in ingesting Twice's blood, transforming into him and starts unleashing Doubles of him. At the same time, Spinner had successfully broken Kurogiri out of Central Hospital, and the warping villain teleports to the island, transporting Himiko and her growing army to both U.A. to disrupt the fight against Tomura, and to the Gunga Villa Ruins. Uravity tries calling her back, saying they didn't get to have a talk about romance yet, but Himiko throws the offer away, and warps to the Gunga Ruins.

Meanwhile, the battle at Gunga had escalated as a result of All For One using a Rewind Drug, rejuvenating himself as his fight against Endeavor and Hawks ended up in the middle of the scuffle between the Heroes and the Paranormal Liberation Front on the mountains. Just then, two Warp Gates appear over the battlefield, one containing Dabi, seeking to confront his father, and Himiko and her Doubles, seeking revenge against Hawks. The latter immediately shouts to kill them right away, but it's too late, as Himiko begins unleashing the Sad Man's Parade throughout the mountain. Uravity and Froppy are able to follow Himiko to Gunga before the Warp Gate closes, joining the fight and saying she won't let Himiko go again.[2]

Battle#

The battlefield almost immediately erupts into chaos. Because of Himiko's Infinite Doubles and Dabi's Blueflames, the Heroes are forced to go on the defensive. Himiko sees Uravity coming down, but says she's no longer some blushing school girl in love and goes after the Heroes. Pixie-Bob tries to create a wall of earth to cover themselves, Kamui Woods is able to rescue Shemage as her Mushrooms catch fire, and Shishido says to get the Villains they've been able to capture out of there before they get burned alive.

Froppy, seeing that Dabi and Kurogiri had also joined the battle, worries about Shoto and Tentacole's safety before Earphone Jack and Tsukuyomi catch them in the air. Tsukuyomi notes the chaos of the battlefield, and Froppy gets worried when she notices Earphone Jack lost one of her ears, but says she's lucky that's all All For One took from her. Earphone Jack is quick to guess that Himiko's the reason why there's so many Twices, and Uravity says all of Japan will get buried if they don't stop her. Tsukuyomi says the heat from Dabi is top fierce, and Himiko is able to keep multiplying despite that: stating the plan to divide and conquer had failed.

Endeavor tries holding off as many Twice Doubles as he can before Dabi descends down upon him. In the chaos, All For One tries to flee and make his way to Tomura, but Hawks is able to stop him before he can escape. Hawks shouts at Endeavor to stop Dabi, and as the Blueflame Villain charges at the Number One Hero, he's able to lure Dabi away from the battlefield while the remaining Heroes take care of All For One and Himiko Toga.[3]

Despite Dabi and All For One dealing with their own battles, the Twice Doubles are still able to greatly overwhelm the Heroes. As Hawks tries to hold back All For One, Shiketsu students, who were waiting to help the U.A. refugees, arrive to offer reinforcements. Gale Force is able to sweep several Twice clones into the air and helps trying to overwhelm All For One both at the same time.[4]

Himiko had also carried some of Tomura, Dabi, and All For One's blood on her to transform into as well, however when the Doubles transformed into the other villains and tried using their Quirks, they were unable to activate, as the Doubles are blown away by Pixie-Bob's Earthflow. Froppy says that they're lucky Himiko didn't try transforming into any of the Villains or started creating Doubles of them first, and that whatever reason she didn't do that is why they still have a chance.

Based on what Uravity learned in their last fight, Himiko is only able to use the Quirks of people she transforms into that she loves, and that restriction applies to the Doubles she's creating, which is why none of the copies can use any of the other Villain's Quirks. Froppy says in an extreme situation like this, a single emotion could override this restriction, and they need to find the original Himiko as soon as possible.

Himiko, trying to use the blood and Quirks of her comrades, is confused why she isn't able to. She loves Tomura and Toya, but unlike Jin and Ochaco, she can't use their Quirks, even when she tested their blood out before the battle. While she begins to be overwhelmed at the fact she can't truly become Jin and all of her duplicates are shouting "All heroes must die · " [5]

Uravity is able to find the real Himiko by zeroing in on her tears, as the two of them lock eyes on each other. While All For One continues to rewind and flee the mountains, Hawks, Tsukuyomi, Gale Force, and a few other Heroes try and stop his escape, leaving the others to stay behind to continue fending off the Twice Doubles.[6]

While Dabi ran after Endeavor, he had been building up power ever since the aftermath of his fight with Shoto to create an explosion that would take out everything in a 5 kilometer radius along with him, including the Heroes fighting in Gunga. As he's about to blow, Tiger sees the impending explosion, and tells everyone to try to escape the blast zone. Despite this warning, the Doubles continue to attack the Heroes, and Uravity and the real Himiko face off against each other.[7] Thankfully with Ingenium's help, Shoto is able to fly into the scene and stop Dabi from blowing himself up, but as the fires from the blast die down, Himiko worries if Dabi had finally met his end, wondering if he was able to smile.[8]

The Doubles continue to outnumber the Heroes, as they unleash the Sad Man's Death Parade against the remaining forces. Pixie-Bob continues to try and create walls of earth to protect herself, but one of the Doubles is able to come from behind and rush her, Tiger, Shishido, Illus-o-Camie, and Shishikross. The Doubles have started to massively multiply, as a rumbling could be heard by the Todoroki Family, Ingenium, and Hawks, who'd just had his Quirk stolen by All For One before fleeing to Tomura's location, and prepares to defend himself and an unconscious Tsukuyomi with his katana.

Uravity continues fending herself from the one woman army, using her Zero Gravity to float into the sky. She latches onto the real Himiko, standing on top a tower of Twice Doubles with one of her wires, and closing the distance with her Ultimate Move: Spacewalk. While Himiko tries to cut the wire, Uravity tries reaching out to her by saying she's had a change of heart since their last encounter. Himiko tries dismissing this, saying it's too late for it, but the young hero continues on, saying she was able to find the real Himiko because of her crying.

She guesses it's because Himiko can't become Twice, and that she can't use anyone else's Quirks because she's got bloodlust mixed in with her love. Part of the mask of the real Himiko dissolves, as she tells Uravity to shut up and that she doesn't know the first thing about her. While this happens, the Twice tower brings up a badly injured Froppy to the top of it, who was still reeling from the injuries she received back on Okuto.[9]

Himiko claims that Uravity's never wanted for anything because she's always followed the rules and was born into a perfectly livable life. She thinks back on how her parents and those around her restricted her behaviors growing up, and how when she asked if other people had to fight the same urges she had to suck on people's blood, her parents saying they gave birth to something inhuman. She also remembers the words of Curious back during their fight.

As she's about to stab Froppy, Uravity is able to yank Himiko away from Froppy before it was too late. As Froppy begins to fall out of the sky, Earphone Jack and Kamui Woods appear to try and catch her. However, Kamui Woods had already caught the real Froppy, and the one Earphone Jack was about to catch was a Double that transformed into her.

Kamui Woods is able to destroy the Double before it can attack, but more of the Doubles were able to swallow some of Froppy's blood, and Earphone Jack realizes they were able to get some of her blood too thanks to her injury. The Doubles continue to swarm and overpower the Heroes, constantly shouting that every hero needs to die.

Froppy tries to tell Himiko that she thought following the rules made someone a hero, and breaking them made you a villain. Right now though, Uravity was setting the rules aside to try and have a conversation with her. Froppy acknowledges that Uravity is making a tougher path than simply beating her, and begs Himiko to listen to what she has to say.

As Froppy is saying this however, Himiko stabs Uravity in the stomach, forcing her to spit out a lot of blood. Himiko continues to severely stab her, saying they're built differently; how heroes go on to have happy, blessed lives, but she doesn't get to feel any of that. Their rules tell them to pity her, but she says don't they dare do that.[10]

Himiko then recalls a conversation she had with the League of Villains about the concept of villain names and if she wants one. She declares that she doesn't want one and it is the reason why she joined the League, to live as Himiko Toga.

Before Himiko can stab her again, Uravity is able touch her, causing Himiko to float, and says she isn't doing this because of pity. Himiko breaks free from Uravity's hold, saying she knows the right things to say, but in the end she'll just toss her into a cage on death row or murder her outright, just like Hawks did with Twice. The rest of Himiko's mask dissolves as her true, vengeful face declares that they're in a win or lose, live or die, winner takes all survival match, and there's no holding back now. Uravity, huffing from the stab wound and letting a few tears fall out, agrees they can't hold back. If it isn't pity, that Himiko assumes it's Uravity's ego talking, and says if their ego's clash, Uravity will be dead meat.

Many of the other Himiko Doubles had taken the blood of everyone across the battlefield, and begin to transform into all of them, unleashing a Sad Man's Legion. The Doubles begin spreading across at a massive rate, as one of the news reporters flying above them is starkly reminded of the Quirk Singularity Doomsday Theory, that Himiko might be bringing that theory a reality and that her emotions will change the very world.

The Sad Man's Legion rushes Uravity, but thanks to her Gunhead Martial Arts and Zero Gravity, she's able to avoid the attack and touch some of the Doubles so that they begin floating. The Doubles say it doesn't matter that they're floating, since none of them have taken any damage, which Uravity responds by saying it's because her Quirk isn't a power for hurting people. Himiko is reminded of a similar thing she said during their second encounter.

Uravity continues swinging through the air with her wires and Zero Gravity, saying Himiko's probably right about her ego talking, and that the Villain can't wipe a clean slate after all the people she's killed, but when Uravity saw her cry, she felt that like she had to find the reason why Himiko was sad. The Villain retorts by saying the Hero was the sad one, as more Doubles begin to rush her, but Uravity screams that they both were sad.

Himiko scared Uravity when they first met because she didn't understand her, and given the situation they were in, couldn't understand why she had such a genuine smile. Himiko thinks back to her conversation about villain names, and how Twice encouraged her to be whoever she wanted, but also thinks about how her parents told her to stop making her creepy smile, as she tells Uravity to just die already.

Uravity thinks back to when she was a child, watching Heroes bring smiles to everyone's faces and how she loved seeing so many people smile. Her child self then sees a child version of Himiko across her. Uravity knows she pushed her away before, and maybe their world isn't one where she can freely be herself, but while thinking about Deku, Uravity says that being able to declare what you love with your whole face is hard, and that she's jealous of Himiko's perfect smile. Tears begin to well up inside Himiko, thinking back to when her parents called her some sort of deviant, as Uravity says she doesn't want to pretend she never saw her amazing smile.

As she reaches out her hand and touches the Doubles surrounding her, Uravity's Quirk awakens and the swarm surrounding her bursts open, beginning to float up into the sky. Earphone Jack also begins to float, but Uravity never touched her, and realizes it spread across all the bodies that came into contact in the swarm. The news reporter is stunned at the sight, and while Uravity says she can't erase all of Himiko's crimes, if there's any part that still wants to talk to her, she can give a lifetime's worth of blood. She once again asks if they can have their talk about romance, as the child version of Ochaco offers up her arm to the crying child version of Himiko.[11]

While the chain of Doubles continue to float, they try to create Doubles, but those Doubles also begin to float. Himiko thinks back to her Quirk awakening during her fight with Curious, and how Uravity's Quirk must have awakened after a similar life or death situation. Kamui Woods is able to latch onto the ground and pull Tiger in from floating away, asking if it's the real Tiger, but the Pussycat assures him that he would have already vanished with his wounds if he was a fake. Tiger thought that Uravity could only lift up to three tons with her Quirk, and says that these kids have come a long way since the Quirk Training Camp last year.

Uravity acknowledges that her Quirk is acting differently, and also that her body is starting to feel cold, but what matters most right now is to reach out and touch the sorrow inside of Himiko. She launches another wire that wraps around Himiko's arm and reels herself in, as the former's Blood Sucking Machine falls down to the ground.

The two of them are flying in the air, as Uravity says her family was poor and that her parents were always sad, that she became a hero to try and make their lives easier. As she grew older though, she realized there are other people she should care about, not just her parents. Himiko pulls Uravity in, as she admits she fell in love with Izuku Midoriya, and is now trying to stop Himiko. That's who Ochaco Uraraka is, and why she's here now.

The distance between the two of them is finally closed as Himiko pulls out a knife. Uravity asks what's on her mind and what her feelings are. As Himiko gets ready to kill Uravity then and there, she thinks back to all the moments of her life at once. The child version of her transformed into a deformed monster ready to stab the Hero, but the child version of Ochaco still offers up her arm.

Himiko finally admits that she falls in love easily, with animals, villains, heroes, boys, girls, because they've all got amazing blood pumping through them. Ochaco lets her continue on, as Himiko says that whenever she was told to stop grinning, she'd get jealous. Izuku reminds her of the boy she liked back in middle school, Saito. The child versions of the two girls also start floating in the air, as Himiko knows she couldn't ask for his blood, or else he'd call her a freak and that she wasn't cute at all; that she'd probably get lectured on the right way to act, just like Ochaco and Izuku before, and that she joined the League because with them, she could live and love how she needed to be. Himiko seems to be coming in for a killing blow, but stops herself, as the two embrace each other in a hug.

Ochaco says the signs were always there from Himiko, it just took her a long time to notice. The transformation time begins to run out, as Himiko changes back from Twice, and the Doubles around her begin to vanish in thin air. Earphone Jack was able to stop herself from floating by planting her remaining jack into the ground, and is concerned about her friend. Ochaco admits she thinks there's something amazing about someone who rages but still tries their hardest, and even if she can't be a replacement for the League, she still wants Himiko to know she has a special smile.

When Himiko asks if she's cute, Ochaco says she's the cutest in the world. Himiko is happy and smiles, as the all Doubles fade away.[12]

During the Sad Man's Legion, the Doubles had rampaged all throughout the mountains and nearby cities, making their way to the Todoroki Family, Ingenium, and Hawks respectively, but they all start to vanish away from them. Endeavor was able to shield his family from the bulk of the army's attack, the Doubles vanished before they could do any damage to Ingenium, but one of the Doubles manages to slash Hawks before vanishing. Hawks says that's fair, and tells the Double that he genuinely thought Jin was a decent guy as she fades away. Himiko thought she wielded her knife to become those she loved, but she wound up gripping it out of rage and hatred to make the world easier to live in.

The battlefield had been completely destroyed during the fight. All the Heroes are left unconscious, or gravely injured, and only Himiko is the one left standing, holding onto the Blood Sucking Machine she dropped. Himiko feels a strong backlash from using someone else's Quirk while transformed, and looks down at the bleeding, exhausted Ochaco on the ground. Himiko assumes Ochaco was able to give the Heroes affected by her Zero Gravity a soft landing, since the release of her Quirk was moving along slower, because she applied it in an indirect way; no one was let down in a hard way.

Ochaco had become colder and lost too much blood. Her head and body don't feel connected, and she can't move a muscle, but she knows she has to keep moving. Himiko looks over the other unconscious Heroes, and thinks back to all the nice things Ochaco said during their fight; how she could give a lifetime's worth of her blood, and that Himiko's smile is special. She looks up to see the news helicopter above them, and makes a decision.

The blood loss Ochaco received is fatal after all the moving around she did after getting stabbed. She tells Ochaco that the League of Villains will destroy everything, and once they do she knows the world will be easier for her to live in. She leans down and drinks some of Ochaco's blood to transform into her, and says she was happy to hear what she had to say, and that despite their winner takes all battle, she doesn't like the idea of a world without her in it.

Taking the Blood Sucking Machine, Himiko injects a tube into each of their arms and begins to make a blood transfusion to give Ochaco all of her blood, as a way to show how genuine her feelings are. The blood makes its way into Ochaco's arm as she starts to feel warm, but she knows that if Himiko does this, she will probably die. Himiko thinks back to the aftermath of her Curious fight, and how Twice did the same thing to save her life, but since she's out of Twice's blood to use his Double Quirk, she has to turn into Ochaco, as transforming into someone else also changes her blood type.

Ochaco asks her not to, and Himiko asks if she planned to visit her and prison and give blood donations there until she died. She thinks Ochaco could have been fine just catching the villains and eliminating the freaks in the world, doing the right thing like any other hero, but she went above and beyond and reached out to someone who hurt her friends and stabbed her.

She thinks Ochaco is weird, as the hero begs once again begs her to not go through with this, but Himiko says she lives and loves as she pleases. She won't let Ochaco catch her, just like how Ochaco won't let her go. She apologizes for stabbing and shouting at her, and thinks back to how happy Toya made her by burning her childhood house, but it didn't make the bad stuff go away, and neither did Ochaco.

As painful as it was when she was reached out to, her heart felt light enough to float away. Himiko tearfully thanks Ochaco, for making her incredibly happy, embracing her hero as she peacefully passes away.[13]

Aftermath#

The Counter-Force gets notified that the army of Twice Doubles had faded away, which also extends to the Doubles warped over at U.A. The news helicopter that had been watching the fight unfold lands down on the ground to transport Uravity to Central Hospital, worrying that she might not pull though. As the chopper begins to ascend, Froppy regains consciousness and begins to cry. Another chopper rushes over to help Hawks and the other fallen Heroes, and when Hawks hears them talking about Uravity, he remembers the speech she gave for Deku after returning him to U.A.[14]

Towards the end of the war, Eraser Head and Present Mic were able to bring Kurogiri to their side. After asking the Counter Force to warp any able body heroes, the warp villain warps back to Gunga to bring all available heroes to Deku's side against "All For One." Froppy, Earphone Jack, Shemage, Shishikross, and Illus-o-Camie are among who are transported to the battlefield.[15]

As the war wraps up, Ochaco is transported to Central Hospital, where she was able to recover after a week. However while she was physically able to recover, the guilt of letting Himiko dies was slowly eating at her mentally, despite her best efforts to hide that pain from the rest of her class.[16] Thankfully one night, on that same cliff where they had their talk, Izuku, followed shortly by the rest of Class A, is able to rush to her side and allow her to open up about her guilt and pain.[17]
