Sad Man's Parade

ArticleSource revision

Sad Man's Parade, full name Infinite Doubles: Sad Man's Parade, is an Ultimate Move performed by Twice using the Double Quirk and by Himiko Toga using the Transform and Double Quirks.[1]

Description#

First, Twice creates clones of himself, then the clones create clones of themselves, then those clones create more clones. This cycle continues repeatedly, resulting in thousands of clones of Twice. With this Ultimate Move, he can easily overwhelm the enemy forces through sheer weight of numbers and proceeds to spread out like an ever-growing army of ants. It is almost impossible to stop because if a clone is destroyed, they quickly create a new one to replace it.[2]

Twice first uses this move against members of the Meta Liberation Army, during their Revival Celebration.[2] He later begins to use it against Hawks, after the latter betrays him, but it is quickly dissipated by Hawks' Fierce Wings.[3]

Using Twice's blood given to her by Dabi,[4] Himiko transforms into Twice and uses his Quirk to execute this Ultimate Move against the Heroes at the Gunga Mountain Ruins.[1] With help from Kurogiri and his Warp Gate Quirk, Himiko's Parade is spread out across several of the Final War's battlefields, including Okuto Island and the U.A. Coffin In The Sky.

Himiko's Parade would become far deadlier than before, expressing her intent to kill any Heroes that may be in her way, becoming known as "Sad Man's Death Parade".[5] Himiko uses another version of this move, creating a swarm of clones that feature the faces of several Heroes and Villains, dubbed Sad Man's Legion.[6]

Weaknesses#

Sad Man's Parade is an exponential technique, and thus is most vulnerable during its initial activation. Should an opponent consistently destroy the clones before they can create their two copies the technique will be neutered.[3]

Sad Man's parade also requires the original Quirk to be intact in order to continue functioning, rendering the original user its weak point. Should they be killed,[7] or otherwise lose use of the Quirk,[8] the Doubles will be unable to maintain themselves and dissolve.

Himiko's version of the move suffered from being used with an imperfect copy of Double, leading to copies of anyone but Twice being unable to use their Quirks. Uravity theorized this was due to an issue with Transform's conditions.[9]

Variations#

Infinite Doubles: Sad Man's Death Parade: Himiko's deadlier version of Sad Man's Parade. Fueled by rage, she summons endless Doubles of herself transformed into Twice with the express intent of killing anything in her path.[10]

Sad Man's Legion: By using her Transform Quirk to duplicate Twice's Double Quirk, Himiko is able to create a legion of clones that take the appearance of several Heroes and Villains, whose blood was taken from the battlefield of the Gunga Mountain Villa Ruins.[6]
