Anna was born in a unnamed country side in Europe as the youngest daughter and heir of the rich Scervino Family. While the nature of her family fortune is unknown, the Scervno fortune has heavy influence to grant her unlimited access to live a well funded lifestyle. However, despite that, Anna's life was miserable due to her Quirk: Overmodification, which can amplify the Quirk Factor of an individual if they are compatible with the user, boosting the base abilities of the affected Quirk and can even grant brand new ones to the user with enough contact. The method of receiving modifications is through physical contact, where the activation of the Quirk is shown through the change of the user's hair color to black, and the sudden appearance of rose petals blooming.
Because her Quirk is always active, Anna was in constant pain and was unable to control or stop the usage of her Quirk, meaning it will cause harm via negative feedback through incompatibility or herself if she does not release it at any given time. This has made Anna have a hard time living a life at all and nearly left her in a barely living state. In addition to always being active, there is another unforeseen side-effect of this Quirk with Anna suffering seizures that are extremely painful to her body.
In doing so, the head of the Scervino Family, Anna's father, went his way to hire a former soldier named Giulio Gandini. According to him, Giulio's Quirk is Neutralization, which can temporarily nullify a target's Quirk by touching them, activated from the right arm of the user. Thanks to Neutralization, Anna's seizures were mitigated and she was able to live a somewhat normal life.
At first, the effects were only harmless enough for Anna to be free, but as she got older, her Quirk has already reached Quirk Singularity, making Giulio's Neutralization harder to use on her, and soon, his Quirk won't be able to nullify her Quirk anymore. One night, while doing the treatment, Anna tells Giulio to promise her one thing: to kill her and end her suffering. Despite Giulio's protest, she insisted because of her dangerous ability, she would eventually reach the point of no return when her Quirk becomes unstable and hurts people; Giulio vows to do that for Anna to end her suffering.
However, sometime after the final battle between the Symbol of Peace: All Might and the leader of the League of Villains: All For One at Kamino, Yokohama in Japan, the Gollini Mafia Family learned of Anna's Quirk, and attacked the household, killing the entire Scervino family, including Anna’s father, and kidnapped Anna.
Anna was taken captive by their leader: Valdo Gollini, and screams for Giulio. Giulio tried to save her, but he was severely wounded after the attack caused him to be trapped under piles of rubble, rendering him helpless as they took her away.[1][2]

My Hero Academia: You're Next#
Anna was taken by the Gollini Family to Japan, the home country of All Might. Japan has entered a chaotic state of unrest as the result of the Paranormal Liberation War, between the destruction caused by the War, the many Villains that have broken out of prisons and been wreaking havoc on the streets after All For One's escape from Tartarus, and the significant decrease in Heroes after many died or retired in the aftermath. With many civilians no longer trusting the authorities and Heroes, they have started to arm themselves with weapons and support items to defend themselves.
To get inside the country, the Gollini Family formed an alliance with Ginji Kurau, one of the Villains who escaped from Tatarus, with him being revealed that he was one of the few compatible with Anna's Quirk. Desperate for help, Anna pleaded with Ginji and the two formed a deal, that Anna would modify Ginji's Quirk, and in exchange, he would help her escape from the Gollini's captivity. Ginji ended up blindsiding Paulo Gollini and managed to escape with Anna.
After getting out however, Ginji went back on his word and chose to use his modified Mad Gluttony Quirk to go on a rampage, believing that he would be unstoppable with Anna's Quirk. Anna cries that Ginji lied to her, but the villain smugly says that he doesn't remember that and she must have heard him wrong. Class 1-A of U.A. High Heroes Course are notified on Ginji's rampage and are dispatched to capture him. While running with Anna at the Port of Niigata, Izuku Midoriya spots the two and tries to save the girl, but Anna refuses; yet, it was already too late. Izuku physically touches her, causes to seize up in pain as a result of her Quirk. Realizing that the Heroes are on to him, Ginji diverts his direction towards an evacuation shelter.
Ginji breaks into the building, still with Anna in his grasp. Some evacuees open fire on him, but Ginji brushes off their attacks as he starts to cause destruction. He uses one of his mouths to try and grab another person to take hostage, but Izuku snares him with Blackwhip. During the struggle, Izuku shouts for the civilians to evacuate the building. Ginji receives another modification from Anna, sprouting several black mouths all over his body, surprising Izuku.
The fight is taken outside, but Ginji is sniped from a distance by Giulio, who tracked Anna after the attack in the household to Japan and is trying to assassinate Anna out of a promise he made to her. Ginji drops Anna,but Izuku stops Giulio from firing again as the rest of Deku's group arrive. Everything is interrupted by the arrival of the Gollini Family's flying fortress. Bruno Gollini uses his Delay Spot to retrieve Anna. Upon regaining consciousness, Anna refuses to go back with them, but Deborah Gollini uses her Day Dream on her, subduing Anna to her dreams where she desires. Valdo, who reconstructed his face into the physical resemblance of All Might's introduces himself to the country, vowing to bring upon the "Symbol of Peace" that All Might had desired.
Izuku voice out in defiance against him, and Valdo decides to do what is necessary. He touches the hypnotized Anna, allowing her Quirk to amplify his own: Alchemy, and his powers tremendously increase as their floating ship transforms into a massive fortress, consuming everything in its path in an ocean of light, including Class 1-A.
With the massive fortress now complete, Valdo conjures a majestic palace for him and the Gollini Family, with Anna in his possession. He makes a personal call to All Might and the Counter-Force at the U.A. Shelter, seeking All Might's blessing to become the next Symbol of Peace. All Might refuses his hand and demands for him to release the civilians that were caught up by his web of transformation, but Valdo refuses, as he claims he needs the "test subjects" to perfect his ideal future as the "Symbol".
All Might curses Valdo for taking his ideals and twisting it in such a dark way that would harm the innocents, vehemently expressing his disapproval. Valdo is initially shocked to hear this but decides to twist this around further and dub himself "Dark Might" before ending the call.
Dark Might wants to know which civilian and student of Class 1-A is compatible with Anna's Quirk to find soldiers for his crusade of further realizing his "Symbol of Peace", and instructs each of the family to have their Quirks enhanced through Anna, and with each family empowered, they can now begin their next phase. Kamille uses his Quirk, Spatial Excursion, to move the fortress, as it pushes itself forward across cities, consuming everything in their vicinity.
With Anna under Deborah's control, she uses her Quirk on all the civilians who were caught by the growing light outside the fortress and have them touch Anna to see if they are compatible. Class 1-A notices the harm they're doing to the civilians and tries to intervene, but Deborah has a majority of them under her Day Dream. With every person Anna touches, they suffer a painful seizure before falling conscious, with only a few civilians being compatible with her Quirk. Izuku and Giulio arrives to save Anna, but Deborah has already under her Quirk, causing them to fall into their dreams. Under Deborah's Day Dream, Izuku finds himself back in his youth, surrounded by his All Might memorabilia, and having fun with All Might himself. However, he is brought back to his senses by the vestiges of One For All, allowing him to realize it is all a dream.
In Giulio's dream, he returns as the butler for Anna, taking care of her, and helping her when she starts to reel in pain due to her Quirk. In reality, Deborah attempts to have one of the bystanders strangle him to death while Giulio is hypnotized, which he sees as Anna doing so to him. When she does, Izuku calls to Giulio in his dream, which makes him snap back into reality, and thanks to his prosthetic eye, he is able to see through Deborah's deception and turns his right robotic arm gun toward her, shooting her in the shoulder. This causes Deborah to deactivate her Quirk, freeing everyone who was hypnotized by her Day Dream.
Anna regains herself and sees Giulio for the first time. At first, she is happy to see him, but then, Giulio turns his gun arm at her, as she realized why he has returned for her. She remembers the promise she made to him and accepts her fate. Giulio fires his arm gun, but Izuku intervenes and stops him from hitting Anna, just before Kamile comes and takes Deborah and Anna away.
With Anna back under Deborah's control, Dark Might learns that Class 1-A is strong and realizes that the citizens and Heroes in the country will not adhere to him, so Dark Might decides that if he can destroy the last remnants of the Heroes, including All Might, in the country, then everyone will have to rely on him. To that end, Dark Might has Kamile change course from gathering cities to the U.A. Shelter, where All Might and most of the Heroes and civilians are, so he can destroy them all and become the only one standing in his ambitions of becoming the Symbol of Peace.
The Counter-Force at U.A. notice the fortress' change in direction, and realize it is heading right towards the school. All Might leads the Heroes to the outskirts of the city and stage a counter-attack against the fortress. Inside the fortress, Dark Might broadcasts to Class 1-A that he will become the Symbol of Peace when he destroys the last remaining Heroes still at the U.A., and then he will be the one who they can rely on. Class 1-A to take action and start evacuating the civilians as quickly as possible while Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, Fumikage Tokoyami, Izuku, and Giulio move in to save Anna and stop Dark Might.
While Fumikage holds the line against waves of monsters conjured by the fortress, Katsuki and Shoto fight against Ugo Gollini and Gil Gollini while Izuku and Giulio infiltrates the palace and defeats Bruno. However, Dark Might escapes with Anna to the upper floors of the fortress and Izuku and Giulio pursue them. In the meadow garden, Dark Might dons All Might's Silver Age costume and touches Anna to enhance his Quirk to higher levels. He is able to easily overpower them in battle, so they come up with a plan for Izuku to use Smokescreen to temporarily blind Dark Might long enough for Giulio to save Anna, but he gets caught by Deborah and her Day Dream.
Izuku is pinned down by Dark Might, and is forced to witness Anna, still hypnotized by Deborah, about to kill Giulio with a knife. However, outside, Endeavor unleashes a full blast of Prominence Burn to make a hole large enough for civilians to fall through, and all the Heroes to move inside the fortress. The sheer blast of the Ultimate Move causes a violent quake that shook the knife out of her hands, and Giulio's robotic eye, unaffected by Day Dream, recognizes Deborah and his robotic arm nearly shoots her. However, it is out of ammo, so Giulio uses his prosthetic left leg to open a "jet booster" mechanism, allowing him to fly over and smash into Deborah, defeating her.
With Deborah defeated, Anna snaps out of her hypnosis, and was horrified that she had a knife and her hair being darkened. She sees Giulio severely wounded and tries to go help him, but Dark Might grabs Anna, allowing him to grow even more powerful. Katsuki and Shoto soon arrive and free Izuku, where the three finally fight against Dark Might. Dark Might concludes that the three are truly All Might's successors and touches Anna once more to become powerful enough to change his costume into the "Golden Age", making him rival that of All Might's powers in his prime.
Anna collapses from her pain while Dark Might battles the hero students. Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto are having trouble dealing with this newfound increase in strength, as Dark Might recites All Might's words of "You're Next", claiming that it was meant to be him and mocks that All Might is a failed Symbol of Peace, enraging the three. The trio goes for an all-out assault on Dark Might and start to overwhelm him with everything they've got. Shoto blasts Dark Might with Flashfire Fist, including Hell Spider and Jet Kindling; Katsuki pours in with explosive AP Machine-Gun and Cluster; and Izuku delivers many punches and kicks, using Faux 100% to power up his Ultimate Moves: Detroit, Texas, Wyoming, Carolina, Missouri, California, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, and then St. Louis Smash.
Together, they managed to inflict more damage before Izuku finished him off with St. Louis Smash. In the chaos, Dark Might's face is ripped off, revealing Valdo's real face. Dark Might's defeat causes the fortress to collapse after his battle, and Mirio locates Kamille, knocking him out, which causes the fortress to start to fall from the sky.
With Dark Might defeated, Giulio recovers and tries to get to Anna. However, as Anna's Overmodification Quirk has already reached Quirk Singularity due to overuse, it has caused her to lose control of her Quirk. As a result, her powers consume everything in the battlefield, including Dark Might. Dark Might, still affected by Anna's Overmodification, manages to regain consciousness and uses her enhanced properties to turn himself into a colossal monster, using the fortress to repair a new body. While Shoto and Katsuki fight back against Dark Might, Izuku tries to get Giulio to Anna, who was encased by thorns when she mutated on herself. Giulio manages to touch her, and thanks to Anna's Overmodification, his own Neutralization Quirk becomes greatly enhanced, allowing him to finally overcome his limits and then use it on Anna. With Dark Might vulnerable, Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto, attack the Villain and unleashed their most powerful moves, defeating him, and destroying the fortress.
Anna recovers, and Giulio tells Anna that he is revealed to be compatible her Quirk, which overloaded his Neutralization, and because of that it has permanently neutralized her Quirk, rendering her functionally Quirkless. Giulio tells Anna he no longer needs to watch out for her now that she cannot hurt anyone anymore and then tries to leave, but she stops him, saying that she is glad because now they can be equals.[3]
Final War Arc#
Anna and Giulio were offered to stay at the U.A. Shelter for the time being while the remnants of the Heroes and U.A. students head out to fight All For One and his army of villains for an all-or-nothing battle in the Final War. As Anna and Giulio remain at the evacuee shelter, they watch the final battle being broadcasted throughout the world, including the battle between Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki alongside the evacuees living within U.A.'s residential area.[4]
They also watched All Might's battle with All For One. Despite putting up a good, but brutal fight, All Might was defeated by All For One, who was about to execute him in front of everyone, only for Katsuki to appear at the last moment to save him.[5]
Eventually, the Heroes in Japan are winning every battle one after another until the only battle that remains was the one between Izuku and Tomura. Anna watches the heroes help Izuku get through "All For One"'s attacks so he can get close and finish the fight for good.[6] As Anna and Giulio watched Izuku, Giulio tells him to "do his best", while Anna silently prays for his safety.[7] Izuku succeeds in delivering the final Smash right through Tomura's chest, defeating him once and for all as his body disintegrates into ashes.[8]
