Sky Egg Arc#
On the occasion of Captain Celebrity's return to the United States, Gang Orca is invited by Makoto Tsukauchi to participate in the farewell show at the Tokyo Sky Egg. Gang Orca accepts the offer and brings his Sidekicks with him.[1] Once on stage, they perform some tricks with the Wash and their Quirk.
However, during the event, the Tokyo Sky Egg is attacked by creatures known as Bombers, sent there by the villain, Number 6, to assassinate Captain Celebrity.[2] Gang Orca participates in an emergency meeting with several of the invited heroes to discuss the crisis. The heroes are divided into several groups to face that attack, managing to defeat the Bombers.[3]
In retaliation for the heroes' intervention, Number 6 causes a Bomber to self-destruct in a large explosion, causing the building to collapse.[4] Fortunately, All Might arrives in time to avoid catastrophe, saving thousands of lives.[5]
Synopsis#
Hideout Raid Arc#
The Vanguard Action Squad of the League of Villains attacks one of U.A.'s training camps and kidnaps Katsuki Bakugo. In response to the rising League of Villain's threat, the Police Force assemble a team of the top Pro Heroes to raid the villain's hideout and recover Katsuki. The No. 10 Hero Gang Orca is recruited alongside other notable heroes like All Might, Endeavor, and Best Jeanist. They all gather for the first time for a strategy meeting.[6]
In the following days, the Hideout Raid Team prepares their assault and Gang Orca is assigned to Best Jeanist's team. Just before they move out, Detective Tsukauchi reminds the team about their objective. Gang Orca is surprised that Katsuki was targeted even after interning with Best Jeanist.[7]
Best Jeanist's team raids the League of Villain's Nomu Factory. Gang Orca helps Best Jeanist and Mt. Lady effortlessly restrain all of the Nomu there. Their mission is nearly successful but the squad is approached by a mysterious person hidden in the shadows. Gang Orca warns them not to move and Best Jeanist restrains them with his Quirk.[8] All For One reveals himself and uses Air Cannon to try and destroy the heroes.
Best Jeanist pulls his team out of harm's way in time to save their lives. However, everyone is left injured and unable to aid the coming battle between the remaining heroes and villains.[9] Gang Orca and the others are eventually rescued by Kamui Woods.[10]
Provisional Hero License Exam Arc#
Gang Orca works with the Public Hero Safety Commission to examine students for the Provisional Hero License Exam. The licensing exam following All Might's retirement is especially important because the world needs stronger heroes to rise up and take his place. Gang Orca is added to the rescue operations phase of the exam. While students work to rescue Help Us Company actors from a disaster zone, Gang Orca and his Sidekicks invade the arena. Gang Orca was chosen as the perfect fit for this role because of his appearance and often associated with villains.
Gang Orca challenges the students to juggle rescuing all of the injured people while repelling the villainous threat.[11] Proctors watching score the students based on the efficiency of their performance. Yo Shindo of Ketsubutsu Academy is the first to act and stops the villains' advance. Gang Orca makes short work of him using hypersonic waves to paralyze his body. The No. 10 Hero believes the students are underestimating him by only having one rear guard during the evacuation.
The villains move to ruin the evacuation effort but Shoto Todoroki stops their advance with an ice wave. Gang Orca breaks the ice apart using his ultrasonic waves and claims Shoto's power is nothing. Inasa Yoarashi arrives and blows the villains away using a Whirlwind. Shoto and Inasa refuse to agree on a plan of attack and end up completely missing the villains. Gang Orca watches in disgust as the boys start arguing right in front of them. The sidekicks stun Shoto with their cement gun and Gang Orca scolds them for getting distracted in battle. [12]
Gang Orca grows tired of the games and decides to attack. First, he sends hypersonic waves at Inasa while he's flying. Inasa dodges right into a shot from a cement gun and ends up getting paralyzed. Next Gang Orca grabs Shoto by his neck and paralyzes him with point-blank waves and tells him that you reap what you sow. He notices that Inasa hasn't been completely immobilized because of the distance between them.
The sidekicks go-ahead to destroy the first aid station while Gang Orca finishes off Inasa. Gang Orca drops Shoto and moves toward Inasa. The duo tries to make up for their foolish actions and works together to trap Gang Orca inside a hot wind prison of spiral flames.[13] Gang Orca is impressed Inasa managed to control the wind thanks to the heat from Shoto's fire. He admits this won't make up for their foolishness earlier but still commends them for trying. They know they've made a mistake and Gang Orca admires their persistence.
Gang Orca commends the prison made of wind and fire and claims an ordinary villain would submit. However, Gang Orca pours water on his head from a bottle and asks what the heroes would do if their unison attack wasn't enough. The No. 10 Hero gathers his strength and blows apart the flaming twister with powerful ultrasonic waves. He turns to the students with his face severely dried from the attack and demands to know what they can do next.
The duo has nothing left and Gang Orca goes to finish them off. They're all surprised when Izuku descends and delivers a powerful kick at Gang Orca. The makeshift villain manages to block the kick but the impact cracks his protective restraints. The test ends shortly after and Gang Orca regroups with his sidekicks. They apologize for not doing more and blame the restraints. Gang Orca actually admits that restraints aside the students nearly got the best of him during the climax of the battle.[14]
Remedial Course Arc#
The Public Heroes Safety Commission puts Gang Orca in charge of training students who failed the exam's second phase during a special Provisional Hero License Course. He designs a special trial for Shoto, Inasa, Katsuki, and Camie Utsushimi. Beforehand, he scolds the boys for their performance during the exam. He claims they all lack heart and this trial will prove if they can serve as real heroes.
Gang Orca unleashes Masegaki Primary School students on the four hero hopefuls. The four of them must win the hearts of these trouble brats if they ever hope to get their provisional licenses.[15]
Gang Orca watches the trial with the Masegaki Elementary teacher Komari Ikoma and explains how adults have failed the coming generation of Quirk users by looking down on them. However, he strongly believes that the heroes in training will be able to set the misbehaving kids back in the right direction.[16][17]
The four students work together to impress the kids with their Quirks and play with them, successfully win over the kids, earning their respect and tempering their behavior, and passing the task. Gang Orca and Komari comment on the children's demeanor with Gang believing it is up to the teacher to help the children responsibly use their Quirk, and the teacher vows to do so.
Gang Orca congratulates the students for their success, although without abandoning his aggressive attitude. Present Mic remarks that deep down, Gang Orca actually likes kids and his behavior is mostly an act.[18]
Meta Liberation Army Arc#
On a Sunday morning in early December, the last test of the Provisional Hero License Course takes place. At the training facility, Gang Orca and his sidekicks prepare to carry out the final lesson for those present, stating that if they succeed they will finally obtain their Provisional Hero Licenses.[19]
Endeavor Agency Arc#
With the increase in villainous activity, the Hero Public Safety Commission considers that a greater presence of Pro Heroes in the streets is necessary, for which reason it urges all students to participate in the Hero Work-Studies. During the second round of Work-Studies, Kugo employed Kyoka Jiro and Mezo Shoji as interns.[20]
My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission#
The World Heroes Association invites several agencies to be part of a global operation against Humarise, an anti-Quirk cult that had caused the death of thousands of people by detonating a Trigger Bomb. His entire agency joins the Japan Task Force, which also includes the Ryukyu Agency, Cementoss, Present Mic, and many other heroes.
The objective of the mission is to assault all the branches that Humarise has in the world, arrest its members, and seize all the Trigger Bombs that they can find. The Japan Task Force successfully storm the Tokyo branch, but while dozens of cultists are arrested, no Trigger Bomb is found. The same goes with the remaining branches raids, so the WHA Director orders all the teams to stay in their assigned countries.
While they are standby at a hotel, his trainee Kyoka informs all the task force members that Izuku has been found guilty of the murder of twelve civilians in Otheon. A few days later, the situation gets worse when Flect Turn, leader of Humarise, broadcasts that they have placed Trigger Bombs in the twenty-five cities where its branches were and that they will explode in two hours. As expected, panic breaks out in the target cities, being one of them Tokyo, triggering numerous accidents among the terrified population.
The Japan Task Force scramble to quell the hysteria and locate the bombs. Gang Orca and all the members of his agency go up to the highest buildings where they use their Quirks more efficiently in order to locate where the Trigger Bomb is hidden. As they search the deadly device, they are reported that Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto plan to storm Humarise's main headquarters to defuse the bombs.
Thanks to his sonar, Gang Orca locates the Trigger Bomb in the third container of a freight train and immediately informs his allies of it, although they soon discover that the lethal device was not unprotected, starting a battle between the Pro Heroes and the members of Humarise. The heroes manage to defeat them and seal the bomb, but the Gang Orca team informs them that more Trigger Bombs have been found.
The heroes continue to fight until the countdown finally reaches zero, but fortunately none of the bombs explode, indicating that Izuku's group had managed to stop the detonation. After this, the heroes defeat the last remnants of Humarise, and all the Trigger Bombs is taken into custody by the police. Once the crisis is over, Gang Orca returns to his daily duties.[21]
Paranormal Liberation War Arc#
By the end of March, the Hero Public Safety Commission organizes the Heroes and the Police Force to take down the Paranormal Liberation Front. Gang Orca is part of a large group of pro Heroes whose mission is to storm Gunga Mountain Villa, the main headquarters of the Paranormal Liberation Front.[22]
After the hero team led by Endeavor start to storm the Jaku General Hospital, the Villa Raid Team begins their assault on the Gunga Mountain Villa.[23] The Paranormal Liberation Front is caught off guard by the surprise attack, which allows the heroes to take the initiative and defeat many of their soldiers.[24][25]
Geten then kicks into action, using his ice powers to create a massive ice wall in an attempt to disrupt the Heroes' siege and rearrange the mansion's defenses. From Geten's ice a villain emerges and attacks Gang Orca,[26] wounding him in the arm. Gang Orca manages to grabs him by the face and barrages him with supersonic waves at point-blank range. Then, he notices that Himiko Toga had taken on the appearance of a hero to injure and kill several of his allies, when suddenly he sees one of the giant hands of Gigantomachia sprouts up out of the ground behind Toga.[27]
Gigantomachia had received an order from Tomura to reunite with him, bringing with him the Lieutenants of the army. The heroes try to stop him but he easily gets rid of them.[28] With the help of Majestic and his Quirk, Gang Orca and other heroes set out in pursuit, and they manage to reach him thanks to U.A. Student managed to retain Gigantomachia long enough by making him fall into a trap. The heroes order the students to leave while they take care of the giant.[29]
Annoyed by the constant attempts to prevent him from reuniting with his master, Gigantomachia transforms. Gang Orca and the rest of the heroes attack him but with his inhuman strength Gigantomachia defeats all of them without breaking a sweat, destroying much of the landscape, before continuing on his way to Tomura. The shockwave was so powerful than the students don't even know where the defeated heroes are.[30]
U.A. Traitor Arc#
In the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, All For One has escaped from Tartarus, and proceeded to break into several more maximum security prisons, liberating the inmates. Due to the chaos inflicted by Gigantomachia and the mass breakout of prisoners, the whole country entered a state of total chaos and anarchy. In addition, many heroes resigned and called it quits because of the massive criticism of their work, and the destruction spreading unchecked. Gang Orca is one of the few heroes that still stays behind and does her best to stop the villains and apprehend them as much as he can.[31]
Final War Arc#
As the remaining Heroes prepare themselves for the Final War, they are successfully able to lure All For One and his army of villains out of hiding, and utilizing Kurogiri's Warp Gate, allow them to catch them off guard by warping themselves onto the battlefield.[32] As the Heroes begin their assault, All Might springs up the "Troy" system trap, trapping many villains in separate cages, allowing the Heroes to push them into several more Warp Gates, separating them all over Japan.
Gang Orca accompanies a team of Heroes in pushing villains into a portal to Okuto Island, with the main goal of keeping Himiko Toga trapped and dealing with any of the accompanying threats.[33] They are stationed at Okuto Aquarium, which he maintains, where he takes charge in dealing with the two Near High-End Nomu that had also ended up there. He calls out to his Sidekicks as they're fighting, where they realize are tougher than they were in Jaku, wondering if All For One stuffed them with even more Quirks. The escaped convicts join in the fight as it leads into an all-out brawl.[34]
While Ochaco and Tsuyu are dealing with Himiko, Gang Orca discovers that the Near High-Ends don't have a Super Regeneration Quirk, and since they had managed to catch most of the other Villains, focusing on the Nomu is their next priority. Everything is going well, until Himiko manages to use the Nomu to catch the Heroes off guard, giving her the chance to ingest Twice's blood, transforming into him and is promptly teleported off the island by Kurogiri.[35]
With Himiko gone, and Ochaco and Tsuyu chasing after her, Gang Orca and the Heroes deal with the Nomu and other villains. They eventually succeed in their mission after dispatching the Near High-End Nomu with spikes and spears. Sirius tends to Gang Orca's injuries in the aftermath.[36]
After defeating the villains on Okuto Island, Shota Aizawa, thanks to "Kurogiri", gathers up all the Heroes that can still fight to provide reinforcements for the final battles. Gang Orca is warped alongside many other Heroes to Mt. Fuji to assist in Izuku's battle against "All For One".[37]
"All For One" prepares to attack them, lamenting the legion of wounded, desperate Heroes making him feel nothing but forlorn, considering them all as afterthoughts compared to All Might. Before he can attack, Thirteen starts to pull him in with her Black Hole, and is then countered by Gang Orca's Orcinus and Seiji's Meatballs. He tries to retaliate, but Burnin and several Heroes use their Quirks to divert most of the blasts, allowing more Heroes to swarm in and overwhelm "All For One" with endless attacks.[38] Eventually, Izuku comes in close and delivers the final Smash against Tomura, defeating the villain one and for all before Tomura succumbs to his injuries and dies as his body disintegrates into ashes.[39]
Epilogue Arc#
Eight years after the end of the Final War, Gang Orca recovers from his injuries and continues to be a Hero and as the no. 21 Hero.[40]
