Synopsis#
Entrance Exam Arc#
Cementoss first appears as a part of U.A. High's judging panel during the Entrance Exams. He is visually surprised when Izuku Midoriya uses his Quirk to destroy the giant robotic villain in a single punch.[1]
U.S.J. Arc#
Cementoss arrives with his fellow faculty members when Tenya Ida brings them to the U.S.J. to halt the League of Villains' assault.[2] He uses his Quirk to create a wall between All Might, Izuku, and Eijiro to protect All Might's identity. He tells Eijiro it's dangerous and commands him to return with his class. All Might thanks Cementoss for this, and Cementoss replies that he's actually a big fan of the number one hero.[3]
U.A. Sports Festival Arc#
During the U.A. Sports Festival's final event, Cementoss acts as the proctor for the one on one fighting tournament. He creates the ring where the combatants will fight and a chair for himself to sit. He sits down and warns the participants that he will step in if things get too rough.[4]
During the fight between Izuku and Shoto, Cementoss contacts Midnight and asks her if they should stop their fight because of Izuku's reckless fighting. He adds that his adrenaline is blinding him from how serious his injuries are and that Recovery Girl likely won't be able to heal him in a single session. He also says Izuku may not even be able to fight in his next match even if he wins.[5] They allow the two to continue fighting until the climax of their bout. Worried that the two may kill one another, Cementoss and Midnight step in.
However, Izuku's and Shoto's attacks hit Cementoss's cement pillars, creating a shockwave that destroys the entire arena. After the smoke from the collision clears, Cementoss comments that although great power isn't always a good thing, he finds Shoto and Izuku both amazing.[6]
Vs. Hero Killer Arc#
Following the U.A. Sports Festival, U.A. students receive internship opportunities from Pros hoping to draft them. In the faculty room, Cementoss informs All Might that a new nomination has arrived for Izuku.[7]
Final Exams Arc#
Prior to Final Exams at the end of the first years' first term, Cementoss meets with his fellow faculty members. They discuss changing the finals format from sfacing robotic villains to fighting against the teachers. Cementoss comments that this may be too difficult for the students, but they all ultimately agree on the change. Cementoss joins the other teachers at the Final Exams practical portion test site to meet Class 1-A.[8] Cementoss is placed against Eijiro and Rikido Sato in the first match.
The three of them arrive in a replica city area where their battle begins. Cementoss begins by using his Quirk to create many cement walls to block their advance from the front. Eijiro and Rikido use their Quirks to smash their way through the walls, but Cementoss continues to create more. As both the student's Quirks work on a limit, Cementoss holds the advantage in a drawn-out battle. [9] Cementoss informs the duo of their weakness as he overwhelms them with cement and knocks them out.[10]
Provisional Hero License Exam Arc#
Cementoss, Midnight, and Ectoplasm join Shota Aizawa in his homeroom class to announce that Class 1-A needs to develop super moves.[11] They move to Gym Gamma where the teachers announce that the students will need special moves for the upcoming Provisional Hero License Exam. Cementoss uses his Quirk to create stages for each student to fight one of Ectoplasm's clones.[12]
Endeavor Agency Arc#
A few days before Christmas Eve, Cementoss is in the Conference Room, discussing with other U.A. teachers about the Hero Public Safety Commission demand to all hero schools that their students must undergo practical field training. Cementoss does not avoid showing his concern about the Hero Work-Studies starting again so suddenly.
For everyone, it is clear that, after the disaster that occurred in the Deika City, in which it is suspected that the League of Villains was involved, the Commission surmises some kind of huge imminent crisis, and wants all heroes to be ready for what can happen. Cementoss comments that it's the first time that something like this has happened.[13]
For New Year's Eve, the U.A. Staff allows their students to return to their homes for a day, escorted by pro heroes, before starting the Work-Studies. On the morning of New Year's Day, Cementoss picks up Izuku in front of his apartment to take him to the Endeavor Agency.[14]
My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission#
While Cementoss continued to teach at U.A., a major city suffers from a terrifying terrorist act committed by Flect Turn, the leader of the cult known as Humarise, who detonated a Trigger Bomb in a large city, causing a large number of victims. As a result of this, the World Heroes Association mobilizes a anti-terror joint task force made up of the top heroes worldwide in defeating the terrorist organization.
U.A. teachers Present Mic and Cementoss volunteer to accompany the Japan Task Force which includes members from Fat Gum's agency and Gang Orca's agency. They have the mission of storming the branch that Humarise has in Tokyo, arrest its members and get hold of any Trigger Bombs that might be there. Despite their successful raid, the heroes have failed to locate the Trigger Bombs and the most prominent members of Humarise. Around the world, the other hero teams also succeed in their respective raids, but with the same results. The WHA director orders all the hero teams to stand by in their respective countries.
A few days later, the operation is compromised when Flect Turn hacked into every communications network and broadcast to the world that they have planted Trigger Bombs in the major cities of the twenty-five countries and they will detonate them in two hours. Humarise's ultimatum results in widespread panic and hysteria in Tokyo. The WHA greenlights the heroes being deployed to each sector and fights in defense to quell the chaos and locate the Trigger Bombs.
With major highways and roadways clogged and blocked in a traffic jam, Present Mic also arrives to help along with Cementoss, asking him to use his Quirk to create a path to evacuate people trapped on a highway bridge. Present Mic uses his Voice Quirk to draw the attention of drivers and tell them where to evacuate.
The heroes managed to locate the Trigger Bombs, only to engage in a all-out war against the Humarize sleeper agents guarding the bombs. All the heroes fight relentlessly until the countdown finally reaches zero. Much to their relief, after several seconds pass, none of the bombs go off, indicating that the other heroes managed to defuse the main devices just in time. With the bombs disarmed and the Humarise members arrested, Present Mic and Cenemtoss return to U.A.[15]
Paranormal Liberation War Arc#
The months go by until it's late March. Thanks to Hawks, the Hero Public Safety Commission has found out that the League of Villains and the Meta Liberation Army merged into the Paranormal Liberation Front, with Tomura Shigaraki as the main leader. Hawks also informed them about the organization, the hideouts, and the plans of the PLF. With this info, the Commission organized a large force of Pro Heroes, divided into several teams to take down the villain organization.
Cementoss is assigned as a member of a large group of pro Heroes whose mission is to storm Gunga Mountain Villa, the main headquarters of the Paranormal Liberation Front, and arrest all its members.[16][17] When the raid starts, Cementoss assists his allies by using his Quirk to tear open the Paranormal Liberation Front's Gunga Mountain Villa hideout, forcing many of the organization's followers to come out and fight, but due to the surprise of the attack, the heroes prevail in the first confrontations. Cementoss congratulates his teammates for their stellar work.[18][19]
As time goes by, PLF soldiers fight more fiercely against the heroes, especially when some of the lieutenants join the battle. Cementoss is knocked down when Geten creates a gigantic block of ice to defend the headquarters. One Hero asks Cementoss if he is alright and he says yes, and that he will help break through Geten's ice.
The situation gets worse when the team in Jaku fails to prevent Tomura Shigaraki from waking up. Tomura orders Gigantomachia to go towards him bringing the league of villains with him. The Giant bursts out from the underground sanctuary below the Gunga Mountain Villa[20] and runs to where his master is, sweeping everything in his path. The heroes try to stop him, but they are attacked by Geten, who's confused by the whole situation. Cementoss then attacks the distracted villain, using his Quirk to trap him in cement, while proclaiming whatever happens, the heroes must take their lives on the job.[21]
The battle between the heroes and the Paranormal Liberation Front continues until it ends with an ambiguous result: the bulk of the Paranormal Liberation Front has been arrested, however Tomura Shigaraki had managed to escape along with a few allies, in addition to the enormous destruction generated and the countless dead between heroes and civilians.
For their part, Geten and Cementoss had managed to neutralize each other: Cementoss had ended up with several large spikes of ice imbedded in his body, but managed to trap Geten for good in cement before collapsing. Geten is arrested and Cementoss immediately sent to the hospital.[22]
Dark Hero Arc#
In the aftermath of the Paranormal Liberation War, All For One has escaped from Tartarus, and proceeded to break into several more maximum security prisons, liberating the inmates. Due to the chaos inflicted by Gigantomachia and the mass breakout of prisoners, the whole country entered a state of total chaos and anarchy. In addition, many heroes resigned and called it quits because of the massive criticism of their work, and the destruction spreading unchecked.
When Izuku goes rogue, Class 1-A goes off to search after him, while Cementoss and the other remaining U.A. teachers are stationed at the newly fortified U.A. High, acting as a safe base for evacuees. When Izuku and Class 1-A returned, they are then confronted by a group of protestors within the school demanding Izuku not be let in. The civilians say they know he is the rumored boy Tomura is after and after they were convinced U.A. would provide them sanctuary, allowing what they consider a "ticking time-bomb" is a horrible idea.[23]
With no one seemingly listening to reason, Ochaco floats her way over the crowd and jumps up onto the U.A. building with a microphone, addressing herself to the people. She tells everyone to take a closer look at Izuku for he wishes to fix everything despite knowing he could be attacked at any minute. Sure enough, the people start calming down, and everyone, including Cementoss, listened to Ochaco's speech. The mood in the civilians realized what they've done instead of contributing to their society, and resolve to do the same for the heroes.[24]
My Hero Academia: You're Next#
During Class 1-A's excursions to combat and apprehend the Jailbreakers and villains running amok, they are suddenly captured by the Gollini Family Mafia, consisting of Bruno, Kamile, Deborah, Paulo, Simon, Ugo, Gi, and their leader, Valdo Gollini. Cementoss was at the U.A. headquarters when Valdo publicly broadcast his announcement to the country that he has come to "save Japan" from their despair caused by the war and vows that he will use his strength and power to promote justice and become the next Symbol of Peace in honor of All Might’s god-like powers.
Valdo touches the hypnotized woman, Anna Scervino, and suddenly, his powers tremendously increase as he uses his Quirk to transform their floating ship into a massive fortress, consuming everything in its path in an ocean of light. Class 1-A witness the rapid expansion of the transformation just before they are consumed by it.
Toshinori hurries back to U.A. to learn of the situation, seeing that the ship has consumed the class and any civilian evacuees caught by the light. He meets Hawks and Best Jeanist, and they identify the group as the Gollini Family Mafia, the most dangerous crime syndicate in Europe that even other Heroes outside the country were cautious to approach. With them on the field, they realizes that anyone who is their target will be in mortal danger.
The mafia transformed their yacht into the Fortress of All Might. Once the fortress is complete, Valdo makes a personal call to All Might at the U.A. headquarters. Cementoss notifies All Might that Valdo wants to speak to him. On video chat, Valdo seeks All Might's blessing to become the next Symbol of Peace. All Might asks Valdo why he is doing this. Valdo tells him that he only came because when he saw the despair and destruction left behind from the War and after he retired from being a Hero, he sought to help those in need, believing only through strength and power can he achieve the peace he wanted, recalling to him on his "You're Next" broadcast. All Might demands that he release the civilians caught up by his web in the transformation, but Valdo refuses, claiming he needs the "specimens" to perfect his ideal future as the "Symbol."
All Might curses Valdo for taking his ideals and twisting them in a dark way that would harm the innocents, vehemently expressing his disapproval. Valdo is initially shocked to hear this but decides to twist it around further and dub himself "Dark Might." All Might refuses to allow Valdo to hand over the future of their shattered country to a villain and further reveals that he has already chosen his successor, and those in Class 1-A who are in the fortress will be the ones to stop him. Dark Might is excited to meet his successor and ends the call.
The Counter Force starts to monitor the fortress which is moving west, consuming everything and everyone in its path. Toshinori mentions that the evacuees are specimens, and wonders what Dark Might plans to do with them.
While keeping track of the fortress’ movement, Dark Might decides to change course because so long as people remember All Might’s legacy, he will continue to inspire the next generation. Dark Might decides to destroy that legacy by annihilating the remnants of the Heroes in U.A.. Toshinori and the Counter-Force notice the fortress' change in direction, and realize it is heading right towards the school. Principal Nezu states that the U.A. Barrier is essential for their plan to defeat Tomura Shigaraki and must be protected at all costs. Hence, he ordered the evacuation of the refugees.
Cementoss and the Heroes to the outskirts of the city to stage a counterattack against the fortress. Endeavor fires a full blast of his Prominence Burn, but the Heroes learn that the fortress repairs itself from any external damages they inflict, which means they can only stall time for Class 1-A to do their jobs.
Mirio helps direct everyone toward the exit. He signals the Heroes outside of the civilians' location, so Endeavor unleashes Prominence Burn - Maximum Fire and Flare Circle to make a hole large enough for civilians to fall through, with all the Heroes waiting outside to catch and bring them to safety. Cementoss uses his Quirk to create a lift for the Heroes to get up to the fortress and wait for the civilians to fall.
Once the civilians are safe, Endeavor makes a hole large enough for many Heroes to move inside. Cementoss creates a platform which allows the Heroes to enter the fortress and aid Class 1-A battling against the monsters conjured by the fortress. As the fortress comes closer to U.A., it starts to collapse after Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto defeat Dark Might; in conjunction, Mirio defeats Kamile, causing the fortress to fall from the sky.
Suddenly, the fortress starts to repair itself as Anna’s Quirk: Overmodification, goes berserk, causing her to consume everything in the battlefield, including Dark Might. Still affected by Anna's Overmodification, Dark Might regains consciousness and uses her enhanced properties to turn himself into a colossal monster, using the fortress to repair a new body. While Izuku, Shoto and Katsuki fight back against Dark Might, Giulio manages to touch her, and thanks to Anna's Overmodification, his own Neutralization Quirk becomes greatly enhanced, allowing him to overcome his limits and then use it on Anna. With Dark Might vulnerable, Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto, attack the Villain and unleash their most powerful moves, destroying Dark Might and the entire fortress.
With the Gollini Family defeated, the U.A. Shelter is safe, and everyone cheers on the Heroes and Class 1-A for their valiant victory.[25]
Final War Arc#
With Tomura's completion approaching, and the number of Heroes rapidly dwindling, those that remain plan for the all-out Final War to defeat the villains once and for all, with their main goal to split up and deal with the Villains individually. In order to deal with Tomura, the Heroes decide to transform U.A. into a floating fortress in the sky to act as a cage to keep him trapped within. Construction and maintenance of the project is led by Cementoss, Ectoplasm, and Power Loader, alongside Mei Hatsume and the Development Studio. Cementoss used his talent for construction and transporting equipment in the creation process.[26]
On the day of the final battles, the Heroes successfully lure the Villains out of hiding and warp the Villains to their intended location, with Tomura alone in the U.A. in the sky. The Support Development Course students were able to retrofit jet propulsion systems into U.A., including adding a feature that cause the plates in the surface to be ejected once Tomura attempts to use his Decay, while deep within the fortress, Power Loader, Cementoss, Mei, and the Development Class are all working hard to constantly repair the pieces destroyed in the battle, with spare parts being created by Momo.[27]
As the battle unfolds in the surface, Cementoss and the Development Course students work fast on repairs to the damage being done on the surface between the Heroes and Tomura. Katsuki unleashes a fully direct hit of his Cluster move, releasing an enormous explosion that reverberates outside the Fortress and inside of the structure. The effects are felt by everyone including Cementoss and the Construction team.[28] Izuku eventually joins the battle to fight Tomura after he defeats all the other Heroes.
However, the battle starts to fall apart when Himiko Toga transforms into Twice, and thanks to a freed Kurogiri, teleports her Doubles to U.A. which disrupt everyone. Tomura unleashes a massive explosion, which destroys most of the fortress. Inside, Power Loader reports to all the students and staff that they can no longer maintain spare parts as the surface was completely destroyed. Mei asks about the power line for the electric barrier, and Power Loader replies that it's busted and the electric barrier can no longer stand at full output. Mandalay then reports to everyone that Skeptic has hacked into their system, and they have lost control of the flight system, causing the fortress to start to fall from the sky, heading on a collision course to crash into a nearby coastal city.[29] As U.A. continues to descend into a nearby coastal city, they are saved when it suddenly stops, thanks to the intervention of Gentle using his Quirk to save it, and La Brava hacking back into the system.[30]
Despite Gentle's intervention, the Twice Doubles begin to overwhelm U.A., forcing the students and staff to attempt to flee and defend themselves, while the weight causes U.A. to slowly plummet again. Mei works as fast as possible to get the repairs done, while Momo creates makeshift weapons and armor to protect her from the Doubles. Himiko was defeated and all her Doubles start to vanish, including the ones at U.A.[31]
While Izuku and Tomura battle far away from U.A., the building can no longer maintain its altitude due to the excessive damages and makes an emergency landing at the coastal city. Cementoss uses his Quirk to make emergency stairways and slides to evacuate the occupants in the fortress, with Gentle coming down to help the injured.[32]
Shortly afterward, Shota has gained control over "Kurogiri" and is gathering up all the Heroes to provide reinforcements for the final remaining battles. Realizing they need all the help they can get, and learning they'll be able to instantly arrive on the battlefield, Cementoss volunteers to teleport to Mt. Fuji where Izuku and Tomura are currently battling.[33] Cementoss and an army of heroes have also been teleported to the battlefield so they can help Izuku defeat "All For One". With all the Heroes assembled, they declare "We are here!"[34]
As Izuku rushes forward, "All For One" unleashed a horde of Quirks, blasting away every Hero who tries to stop him, but they keep on countering against his attacks. Shota then calls out to the Heroes through their comms, telling them to help Izuku carve a straight path to Tomura.[35] Cementoss and the Heroes repel each attack "All For One" throws at them until Izuku manages to finally get in close and delivers a Smash right through his chest, defeating Tomura once and for all.[36]
Epilogue Arc#
One week after the end of the Final War, the restoration efforts that were stalled after the Jaku Hospital Raid have picked back up at a breakneck pace, as Heroes from around the world arrived to provide support and resources in rescue and rebuilding Japan. Cementoss was seen using his Quirk to repair buildings.[37] Later, Class A join up with some Heroes in a city on reconstruction duty, assisting Fat Gum, Suneater, and Best Jeanist in demolishing and repairing a section of buildings.[38]
