Fuyumi Todoroki

ArticleSynopsisRelationshipsSource revision

Fuyumi Todoroki is the older sister of Natsuo and Shoto, the younger sister of Toya, and the only daughter of Enji and Rei Todoroki.[3] She used to be a teacher at an unnamed elementary school.

Appearance#

Fuyumi is a young woman of average height with turquoise eyes (gray in the anime). She has white hair, flecked with a few noticeable traces of crimson, which is mostly shoulder-length aside from the ear-length side bangs she sports and the short clump she leaves hanging down her forehead. At times, she wears her hair in a short ponytail.

She wears a white dress shirt with a plain grayish peach-colored cardigan, the sleeves worn rolled up to just below her elbows, along with navy blue jeans. She sports brown dress shoes and a pair of red-framed rectangular glasses. She also frequently wears various turtleneck sweaters and occasionally wears a pencil skirt in place of trousers.

During the Final War, Fuyumi receives burn marks and scars right after exposing herself to the battle between Dabi and Endeavor. In the aftermath of the war, Fuyumi's burns have mostly healed, with only three small scars remaining; on her right cheek, the left side of her face, and above her nose. Her hair has also been cut, with it now reaching her chin.

Eight years after the war, Fuyumi's hairstyle now lacks its fringe and she still has the burn scars on her face. She has also swapped her rectangular glasses out for circular ones.

Personality#

Fuyumi is a kind-hearted person who cares deeply for her family. She took on a nurturing role for her younger brother, Shoto, during the absense of their mother, Rei. It is shown that she has an amicable relationship with both her younger brothers, Shoto and Natsuo, as well as her mother, whom she often visits at her hospital ward. She also has a teasing side, as she taunted Natsuo for having a secret girlfriend at college.

Fuyumi doesn't show the same resentment towards her father as her brothers do, although she confirms that she does feel the same way as them at times. Despite this, Fuyumi tries to get along with her father for the sake of their family changing for the better, an idea which she is hopeful about after taking note of her father's changing attitude and Shoto's healing relationship with their mother.[4]

She is shown to worry about her family whenever something happens to them, including her father, as she was horrified to see him grievously injured during his battle with Hood.[5] She also showed visible panic when Shoto came back from saving Katsuki Bakugo, and was frantic upon hearing that Natsuo was kidnapped by a villain whom her youngest brother and his friends later fought.

The feeling that she "couldn't do anything for Shoto" remains in her heart.[1] This is also what inspired her to become a teacher, as she felt that she couldn't protect her youngest brother.[6] For all her positivity, Fuyumi admits that she was too afraid to stand up to her father's abuse and could only do her best to keep up the appearance of a happy family, acknowledging that she too holds some partial blame regarding the fate of her older brother, Toya. Even so, she agrees to unite with her family to help their father stop the Villain her elder brother had become.[7]

Fuyumi has proven to be very brave, as during the Final War, she chose to accompany her mother and Natsuo in confronting Dabi, who was releasing a deadly inferno and was on the verge of self-destructing. Fuyumi used her ice Quirk to help contain Dabi's explosion, telling her older brother that she can't bear to lose anyone again and pleading with him not to take everyone down with him as well.[8]

Abilities#

Overall Abilities: Fuyumi is an inexperienced woman who doesn't have any particular combat experience or fighting-style techniques unlike her brothers, Dabi and Shoto, or her father, Endeavor. However, she does have some proficient control of her Quirk as she was able to coat herself in it to reach Rei, Endeavor, and Dabi in the midst of the latter's blazing inferno.[8] Along with Rei and Natsuo, Fuyumi was able to temporarily route Dabi's explosion using her ice, allowing Shoto to extinguish it completely with his Phosphor-empowered Great Glacial Aegir. Shoto said afterwards that without his mother and siblings' help, he might not have been able to stop Dabi from exploding.[9]

Cooking Skill: Fuyumi is noted to be an excellent chef, something that both Katsuki and Izuku Midoriya remark on when they visited the Todoroki household. Katsuki learned her Mapo Tofu recipe. He also compared her and Shoto's cooking, ridiculing Shoto on how much worse he was. She has been doing all the cooking in the Todoroki household ever since their maid hurt her back and retired.[10]

Teaching: Given Fuyumi's former job as an elementary school teacher, she is likely skilled in teaching basic school subjects to children.

Quirk#

Frost: Fuyumi inherited her mother's ability to generate ice, to both coat herself in it and blast it out.[11][8]
