Family#
Enji Todoroki#
When Fuyumi was born, Endeavor was mildly disappointed she only inherited her mother's Quirk, but was content with her and Toya at the time. As with her brothers Toya and Natsuo however, Endeavor ultimately neglected her during her childhood and didn't want to make her his successor.
Despite this, Fuyumi is the only child who is mostly able to look past their father's faults and forgive him for his previous behavior, especially since her father is trying to atone for his mistakes and be a better person. Fuyumi is more than aware of how messed up her family turned out because of Endeavor's abuse, and while she expresses some fear of him, she is nonetheless the one who supports Enji the most in his effort to improve and fix his family issues. She was surprised to hear that he regularly visits her mother (although refrained from seeing her) and listened when he voiced his inner troubles. She was also horrified when he was injured during his fight with Hood. When Natsuo said that Endeavor should just retreat, Fuyumi voiced that their father is far too stubborn to ever give up or stand down from a fight.[1][2]
Following Endeavor's battle against Hood, Fuyumi prepares dinner with her brothers, hoping for a chance for them all to start a dialogue. Things do not end too well however due to Natsuo's animosity towards Enji, causing the former to soon storm out. Fuyumi told Shoto that she was quite hopeful and proactive with getting her father and siblings to mend relations with each other due to his recent progress, hoping their family could finally be together and happy again.[3]
Fuyumi's more positive opinion of her father is likely due to the fact that she still remembers his more positive side during her early childhood. In the early years of her family, prior to Natsuo and Shoto's births, her father had a healthier relationship with his wife and children, a time when the Todoroki family was happy and stable.
She tries again months later with another family dinner, in which she also invites Izuku and Katsuki, although the outcome was not much better. Fuyumi confided in Shoto that she too feels some resentment towards Endeavor but wants to move past it for the sake of their family.
Although her initiatives were not very successful, Enji thanks his daughter for all her support, thinking that Fuyumi doesn't know how much she has saved him.[4]
When he leaves with the boys, he once again thanks Fuyumi for her actions who only responds to his gratitude with a smile.[4] Endeavor later revealed that he is building a new house for the siblings and their mother, while he remains at their house alone.[5]
When visiting her father at the hospital after her older brother's broadcast, Fuyumi was concerned and asked her father why he was crying. She was taken aback by his apologizing.[6] After reminiscing of Toya and the events that made him become a villain, Fuyumi acknowledged her role in Toya's descent to villainy, how she was too afraid to intervene and could only do her best to keep up appearances while knowing that her family was broken. She offers to be there with the rest of the family to help her father stop Dabi.[7]
During Toya's rampage, Fuyumi came to help her father, despite suffering several burns. After Shoto was able to stop Toya, Endeavor proceeded to apologize to her for putting so much work on her shoulders.[8][9]
After the Final War, Fuyumi joined her father alongside the rest of her family with visiting Toya at Central Hospital. Following the visit, Enji vows that he will spend the rest of his life making amends for his actions to make sure that Fuyumi and her brothers won't be dragged down with him.[10]
Rei Todoroki#
In the past, Fuyumi was shown to have a positive relationship with her mother, happily interacting with her as a child and giving her a flower. Likewise, while Enji still desired an ideal heir, Rei genuinely wanted another child after Toya was born, believing the siblings could encourage each other, leading to Fuyumi's birth.
As the years passed, Rei was forced to spend less time with her daughter in order to watch over Shoto, as Enji had begun ruthlessly training him. While Fuyumi was in middle school, she witnessed her mother trying to reason with Enji and defend Shoto, but was too afraid to try and help her.
Like her brothers Natsuo and Shoto, Fuyumi visits her mother from time to time at hospital. Fuyumi cares for her mother's physical well-being, as seen when she brought her a set of warmer clothes, but especially emotionally, reprimanding her brother Natsuo for mentioning her father in front of her, even when they had agreed not to.
In spite of the latter, she was surprised to learn that her father had visited Rei several times, although they did not see each other face to face due to Rei's current condition, as she still fears him.[1]
Toya Todoroki#
In their childhood, Fuyumi had a good relationship with Toya and often played with him.[11] Prior to the births of their younger siblings, Toya vented his frustration towards Fuyumi over how their father refused to train him anymore. Concerned for her brother's well-being, Fuyumi agreed that Toya shouldn't train his Quirk due to him getting hurt, but Toya refused to heed his sister's input, believing a girl wouldn't understand how he was feeling.
Years passed and Toya's obsession with gaining his father's approval worsened. Despite being a "failed creation" like him and Natsuo, Toya did not share a particularly positive relationship with Fuyumi. Though he did interact with her rather well and would play together with her and Natsuo, Toya would choose to confide in Natsuo his personal thoughts and doubts instead, due to Fuyumi never being expected to be a hero herself even telling Natsuo that the women in their family were useless and couldn't understand him.[12]
After Toya seemingly died, Fuyumi mourned her brother's death, often praying at the altar in his room.[13] Unlike Natsuo, Fuyumi doesn't seem to blame their father for what happened to him, grieving it as a tragic accident.
During the Paranormal Liberation War, Dabi revealed his true identity as Toya during a video broadcast, exposing his kinship to Endeavor and the latter's history with his family. Fuyumi watched the video from the elementary school she works at, and was greatly shocked and saddened to learn that her older brother had become a villain and mass murderer.[14]
During the Final War, Fuyumi is reunited with him after a decade and didn't hesitate to rush towards the battle between her father and her brother, despite the latter being on the verge of self-destructing. She cries out to her older brother, telling him to stop, for she couldn't bare to lose anyone again.[8]
Following the Final War, Fuyumi visits a dying Toya at Central Hospital alongside the rest of her family. When Enji says that he will continue to visit Toya, Fuyumi says she wishes to talk with him as well, showing that she still wishes to speak with her older brother despite everything he has done.[10]
Natsuo Todoroki#
Fuyumi was thrilled when Natsuo was born and the two had a good relationship in their childhood, often playing together with Toya. One night, they overheard Enji terrorizing Rei for not stopping Toya's training, causing them to hide. Fuyumi helped cover Natsuo's ears and did her best to help block out the screaming. Following their mother's hospitalization and Toya's "death", the siblings only had each other and would cook for themselves whenever their housekeeper was unavailable.
The two still get along in their older years, sometimes visiting their mother together at hospital. Fuyumi teases Natsuo for having a secret girlfriend at college, much to her brother's dismay. Soon after, she scolds him for bringing Enji up to their mother.[1]
While the siblings get along, their stance on their father differs; Fuyumi remains hopeful towards Enji, supporting his efforts to repair things with his family. Natsuo, on the other hand, resents the man for all the years he neglected them, for abusing Rei and Shoto, and for causing Toya's death. Fuyumi tries to get her brother to come around, wanting their family to reconcile and heal from the past. While Natsuo doesn't agree, he tries to tolerate his father's presence for his sister's sake, although this inevitably generates tension and Natsuo usually leaves to avoid more problems.
She also expressed concern for him after he was attacked by a villain, to which Natsuo assured her that he was fine.[15]
Following the Final War, Fuyumi and Natsuo join their family in visiting Toya, who is slowly dying in a life support unit at Central Hospital. After the visit, Fuyumi confirms that she quit her job as a teacher but has found a new one thanks to the mother of one of her former students. She later joins Natsuo and Shoto in the car ride to take the latter back to school.[10]
Shoto Todoroki#
During their childhoods, Shoto was separated from Fuyumi while growing up so Enji could focus on training him. Fuyumi witnessed the harsh abuse Shoto suffered at the hands of their father but could not bring herself to intervene. To this day, Fuyumi still feels guilty over not being able to help Shoto, something that inspired her to become a teacher.[16]
Following Rei's hospitalization and when Enji finally allowed the siblings to interact, Fuyumi took on a caring role over Shoto and made sure he was looked after.[17]
After the U.A. Sports Festival, Fuyumi was surprised when Shoto left to visit their mother at the hospital, asking if it was okay without saying anything to their father, though Shoto left regardless.
When he arrived home late after the Kamino Incident, she scolded him because of the dangers of him going out and directed him to their raging father.
During the Pro Hero Arc, she spent time with him and Natsuo before they watched as the latter told off their father for his previous treatment of him and his siblings. Fuyumi became upset, telling Shoto her desire of being a real family, something he sympathized with. Fuyumi watched him express a similar desire to see the kind of man Endeavor will be.[3]
Fuyumi is aware of the difficulties that Shoto has in relating to other people, so she is glad to know that his brother has friends in U.A. High School. During the Endeavor Agency Arc, she decides to invite everyone to a dinner to meet them.[18] After a dinner, she once again confided in him after the dinner was turbulent.[19] Shoto was grateful to her for her intentions.
During the Final War, Shoto saves her and the rest of the family from Toya's destructive rampage.[8]
Following the war, Shoto meets the rest of his family at Central Hospital, where Fuyumi reminds him that they said he didn't have to come, but Shoto says that he is there out of obligation, as are the rest of them, as the family proceed to visit Toya.[10]
Others#
Izuku Midoriya & Katsuki Bakugo#
Eager to meet Shoto's friends, Fuyumi invited Izuku and Katsuki to dinner at the Todoroki Abode with her family.[18] The whole time, she was kind to them and both boys praised her cooking skills. However, dinner does not end as she would have liked due to the tension between her brother Natsuo and her father Enji.
While talking with his brother Shoto about the matter, she is criticized by Katsuki for talking about their family drama in front of them, for it was ruining the evening, to which she apologizes. Izuku voices his thoughts that Shoto is a very kind person and is waiting for the right moment to forgive his father.[4]
After dinner, Fuyumi says goodbye to them and she thanks Izuku for being Shoto's friend. Fuyumi also agrees to send Katsuki her recipe for mapo tofu.[19] During Class 1-A's hot pot party, Katsuki would criticize Shoto for how poorly he cut the chives in comparison to his sister.
