Specter is the three hundred and thirty-third chapter of Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.
Summary#
"Tomura" thinks about how much he dreaded the idea of New Order and One For All working together, so he purposefully put a stop to the Hero Public Safety Commission and ordered his overseas associates to cause trouble to delay the arrival of foreign Heroes. His plan was to perfect his body, steal One For All, and then take on New Order, as having both Quirks would allow him the power for absolute domination over the entire world. Having to face New Order this early in his incomplete body was a gamble he was forced to make, but he gloats that it has paid off as he begins to steal New Order.
Star and Stripe, using her real name Cathleen Bate, uses New Order to declare she won't Decay. However, this rule is beyond the cap of how strong she can make herself and she slowly begins to Decay away, with the pilot shouting at her for her decision. "Tomura" gleefully states that her body began decaying while he was stealing the Quirk, so she prioritized saving herself, losing the Quirk in the process. He begins to think about Yoichi, and the comics they read together as kids, stating that he always knew there was more to the story, and that he simply chose to stop reading.
"Tomura" is about to use New Order to effect the air when suddenly, in the vestige world, Tomura and All For One find themselves face-to-face with Star and Stripe, while "Tomura" begins to explode from the inside and out. The pilots realize that Star has done something to "Tomura", as it turns out, at the last second she used New Order to declare that the Quirk would revolt against other Quirks. A gigantic Star and Stripe begins to pound away at Tomura, All For One, and the vestiges of the other stolen Quirks, as All For One curses Star's name.
Star thinks about how the worst case scenario would've been her dying and her Quirk being stolen, but while she would've liked to protect her body, she's willing to give it up to stop a worldwide threat. At the same time, she also thanks her brothers in arms for what they've done for her. "Tomura" thinks about how all his Quirks are rebelling against each other, and laments that he can only steal or bestow Quirks, not dispose of them. He desperately tries to find someone he can force New Order onto.
However, the pilots all proceed to fire at "Tomura" with their laser barrage, shouting that Star's still fighting within him and not to let her sacrifice be in vain. "Tomura"'s Reflect is destroyed by the Star and Stripe vestige, while she continues to tear and pull apart Tomura and All For One from within. As Star begins to give away from the Decay, she thinks about how because All Might saved her, she was able to indulge in the wonderful dream of hers, considering this her way of paying All Might back, and gives one final salute to her pilots as she finally decays away. All For One curses the "spectre of All Might", while the pilots continue their endless barrage against "Tomura".
