Impure Beam is a Quirk used by All For One, who stole it from an unknown user.[1] It was also used by Tomura Shigaraki.[2]
Description#
Impure Beam allows the user to unleash a large and destructive beam of light.
This Quirk is one of the strongest in All For One's arsenal, capable of inflicting massive, widespread damage in a single shot.
The Quirk's devastating abilities have been shown to combat Fumikage Tokoyami and Dark Shadow's Light of Baldur,[3] as well as killing Gigantomachia in one shot,[4] and destroying 66% of the Armored All Might's shields in a single hit.[5] He also uses this attack in conjunction with other haphazard Quirks during his third battle with All Might.[1]
Tomura used this Quirk during his final battle with Izuku Midoriya, initially using it to attempt to pierce his Blackwhip defences.[2] After regaining control of Tomura's body, All For One would later use it in a Quirk combination to increase its output tenfold, only for it to be redirected by Toru Hagakure.[6]
Weaknesses#
The downside of this Quirk's power is that when it is pushed to its maximum output, with the aid of additional Quirks, it causes the user's arm and/or whole body to be blown apart. However, All For One was able to circumvent this damaging weakness thanks to his body's regeneration courtesy of the Rewind Drug. Meanwhile Tomura's enhanced physique allowed him to use it without fear of recoil.
As the Quirk is light-based, the beam is vulnerable to being refracted or redirected by any ability that can manipulate light such as Invisibility.[6]
