Hitchcock Birds is an Ultimate Move performed by Anima using the Anivoice Quirk.[1]
Description#
Using the power of his voice, Anima summons a swarm of birds to his position in order to create a distraction or hinder his opponent's vision.
Anima first uses this Ultimate Move during the Provisional Hero License Exam. In this instance, he uses doves to provide a distraction, allowing Fumikage Tokoyami, Minoru Mineta, and Mashirao Ojiro to land a surprise attack on two examinees.[2]
In another instance, Anima uses this Ultimate Move with crows to hinder the vision of Nine and Slice, allowing Mezo Shoji, Tsuyu Asui, and Ochaco Uraraka to rescue Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo, alongside Mahoro and Katsuma Shimano.[3]
Anima later uses this Ultimate Move offensively, when he uses it against Izuku in Class 1-A's fight to bring him back to U.A.[4]
Hitchcock Birds is named when it is used offensively, once again, against Liberation soldier Takaie Kanigumo during the Final War. This version involves a number of different species of birds, as well as insects and bugs, including dragonflies, wasps, and butterflies. This also marks the first time that Anima uses his awakened Quirk to use the move.[5]
