The League of Villains is an autobiographical book written by Shuichi Iguchi, also known as the Villain Spinner, one of the last remaining members of the League of Villains.

Overview#

After the Villains lost the Final War to the Heroes, and with All For One and Tomura Shigaraki finally deceased, Spinner was at Central Hospital in the process of recovering from nearly becoming a Nomu, until he is visited by Izuku Midoriya. Spinner calls Izuku shameless and a murderer for being the one who killed Tomura. Izuku doesn't deny, but he came to deliver Tomura's parting words: "Even to the bitter end, Tomura Shigaraki kept fighting to destroy."

Spinner is surprised to hear Tomura told him to say it, with Izuku emphasizing it was to him specifically, no one else from the League. Spinner then starts to break down, saying that Tomura was his shining hope, with a smile he said he'd destroy everything, and after transforming Deika City into a crater, he represented him and his voice. He states when he was oppressed for who he was, and was ready to give up on life, Tomura gave a guy like him a dream to cling to, hoping for a major change, and dreaming he could be somebody.

Spinner begins to cry, saying that Tomura was a gamer, that while being a shut-in video games were all he had, and Tomura was a fan of his favorites, and was his very first friend. As he calms down, Izuku tells him he needed to be a hero to all of them, and the League of Villains held a special place in his heart, and he's sure he felt the same way about him as he did, which is why he believes he wanted to let him know.

Spinner says he knows they're going to keep fighting, and sooner or later they will forget about Tomura and the League. He declares he's going to write a book about Tomura Shigaraki's legacy, the Symbol of Fear, and how the League of Villains lived to destroy, a book that'll stick it to the Heroes forever; the past never dies and he'll spin Tomura's tale. Izuku tells Spinner that he should make it a comic book and before he leaves, assures him that he will never forget about Tomura.[1]

While Spinner scoffed at Izuku's suggestion, he later decided during an interview that he should include pictures in his book, believing that it would help readers who are uneducated or from different countries.[2]

The book was titled "The League of Villains" and sometime after their confrontation at the hospital, finally got released to the public. Upon its publication, the book was panned with heavy criticism and caused a major uproar, but it was received positively by some for shedding light on how the conflict with the Villains unfolded.[3]

Mr. Compress, the only other living member of the League left, was seen reading the book in his cell with a nostalgic smile.[4] At the same time, someone noticed the book on a shelf in a store and, musing that it was written by someone from the League, they were going to buy it and read it in the future, with it also being revealed to be a popular release.[5]
