Vigilantes Beginnings Arc#
Rapt Tokage is walking down the street with his friends Soga Kugisaki and Moyuru Tochi, when Koichi Haimawari unwittingly bumps into them and spills Soga's juice. The three order him to apologize, which he does, and seeing how spineless he is, they decide to humiliate him, but he runs away using his Slide and Glide Quirk. They chase him, but Koichi manages to escape. Later, they encounter Koichi again at the convenience store he works at, and this time they beat him.
Later that night, Koichi and Kazuho Haneyama meet the thugs in an alleyway, and they recognize the latter as the online idol Pop☆Step and pin her to a wall while expressing their intentions to humiliate her. Koichi tries to stop them but gets beaten again. Annoyed by Koichi's presence, Soga decides to seriously injure him using his Spike Quirk, being encouraged by Rapt and Moyuru. Suddenly, Knuckleduster appears to help him.
Soga orders the old man to get lost, but Knuckleduster just knocks him out with a punch, surprising everyone. Then he suddenly asks a confused Rapt if he has drugs in his possession and orders him to show his tongue. Before he can answer, Knuckleduster punches him hard in the stomach and sticks his tongue out, checking that it does not have any discoloration.
After finishing him, he easily defeats Moyuru and verifies that his tongue is not discolored either. Soga gets up ready to slash Kazuho's face, but Koichi stops him and KD punches him again, this time defeating him. Before leaving, KD writes down the identities of the three thugs.
Wounded and bruised, Soga, Rapt and Moyuru move away. Soga has a desire to take revenge on Koichi and Knuckleduster, although his friends try to convince him otherwise. At that moment, Mario Kugutsu appears, offering them samples of Trigger assuring them that their wounds will be healed.[1] Rapt and Moyuru inject the drug, and as they were told, their wounds heal but also their Quirks are enhanced, becoming Instant Villains. Soga decides to save his dose for later.[2]
The next day, while doing their duties as Vigilantes, Koichi, Kazuho, and Knuckleduster approach Mario, who Knuckleduster suspects of being a Trigger dealer and try to arrest him by force. Koichi and Kazuho think he is rushing into his accusations, but Knuckleduster is about to hit him, being stopped by Eraser Head, starting a fight between the two.
While this happens, Mario escapes, and Kahuzo realizes that there is something fishy about him and chases him along with Koichi. During the chase, they encounters Soga again with the transformed Rapt and Moyuru, who came to take revenge. Soga takes his dose of the drug that Mario gave him, transforming into an Instant Villains, and the three attack them. While Soga and Moyuru pursue Koichi, Rapt goes after Kahuzo, who is still chasing Mario.
In desperation, Mario injects a sample of Trigger, transforming himself into a gigantic four-armed being with a childish personality. He grabs Kahuzo and Rapt and begins to play with them like they were toys. Rapt ends up being hurt by that, and before his situation gets worse, Shota, who had already arrested Soga and Moyuru with Knuckleduster's help, nullifies Mario's Quirk with his and arrests him.[3]
Stendhal Arc#
Rapt ends up in the hospital because of his injuries, being visited by his friends Soga and Moyuru. The three must leave the room when a nurse catches Rapt in possession of a pack of cigarettes, so they decide to go out to smoke. Once in a secluded area, Rapt says he will be discharged soon. Moyuru is impressed that he has healed so quickly from his injuries, and Rapt attributes this to the healing abilities of his Lizard Quirk, although he also believes that the fact that the Trigger boosted his Quirk also helped in his fast recovery. Soga asks if he would be interested in using the Trigger again, to which Rapt replies no. Although he doesn't deny that he enjoyed the power and abilities that the Trigger produced on him, the drug is the reason why he ended up hospitalized.
Unbeknownst to him and Moyuru, Soga reunites with Kuin Hachisuka, the main person in charge of distributing Trigger for Naruhata, and demands her to leave his friends out of everything related to the drug. However Kuin has other plans for them as she had allied with the murderous vigilante Stendhal to kill them.[4] Thanks to the intervention of Koichi and Knuckleduster, Stendhal is defeated.[5]
Vs. Queen Bee Arc#
After the incident with Stendhal, Soga becomes an ally of Knuckleduster, and helps him in his search for the whereabouts of Kuin Hachisuka, without saying anything to Rapt and Moyuru. One day, while researching at her high school, Soga falls into a trap of hers using a girl controlled by her parasitic bees. Fortunately for Soga, Rapt and Moyuru arrive just in time to rescue him from Kuin's bees. Both Rapt and Moyuru express their dissatisfaction with the fact that Soga didn't tell them anything about what he was doing lately.
They go to the hospital where Knuckleduster is visiting, so that Soga can report him of the information he was able to gather. Both Rapture and Moyuru are terrifyed when they see Knuckleduster again. After informing him of new intel, the three head off and run into Koichi and Kazuho. Koichi holds no grudge against them while Kazuho is still angry with their attempted assault.[6]
Sky Egg Arc#
Knuckleduster's investigations produced the desired effect,, and he manages to find and defeat Kuin Hachisuka, killing the parasitic queen bee that controlled the body of his daughter Tamao and taking her to a hospital. Knuckleduster asks Soga, Rapt and Moyuru to take care of his daughter since he will be away for a long time to take care of some business.
During the time they are in the hospital, the three boys befriends Tamao. One day, Rapt cramps his tail while attempting to play Tamao's guitar, amusing her. Moyuru asks her to play. She confesses that she just played the guitar to piss off her father. Soga grabs the guitar and tunes it. Moyuru did not know that Soga knew about music and Rapt tells him that Soga used to play a guitar, but he smashes it in a fight. Soga returns the guitar to Tamao, telling her that not many people has the privilege of being able to play music.
At that moment, Knuckleduster enters the room, and the terrified Rapt and Moyuru try to stay as far away from him as possible. Knuckleduster clarifies that he has only come for a quick visit, since he has to catch up with an old pal, so he asks Soga and his friends to stay a while longer. When Knuckleduster leaves, Soga asks Tamao to make some noise with the guitar, just to annoy her old man. Tamao agrees and Rapt and Moyuru tease Soga for encouraging her to play the guitar, calling him a sweetheart, much to his annoyance.[7]
Final Performance Arc#
Shortly after Koichi is knocked out after his confrontation with Bee☆Pop, Soga takes him and leaves him in Rapt and Moyuru's care at Moyuru's parents' place. Koichi wakes up, and the two feed him porridge. As Rapt remembers to turn on the news, Koichi remembers about Kazuho's bombings that night. Soga returns and hands Koichi a letter from Knuckleduster,[8] which helps restore Koichi's resolve to save Kazuho, though he dubiously answers he doesn't know where to start, causing Rapt and Moyuru complain about his lame answer. Soga smiles at Koichi's determination, causing Rapt and Moyuru to tease him.[9]
Soga leads Koichi, Rapt and Moyuru to Knuckleduster's warehouse, explaining that they are free to use whatever is in there. Rapt is excited to grab a loaded shotgun, making Moyuru uncomfortable. Soga explains his plan to rescue Kazuho, which involves breaking numerous laws, something Rapt finds fun and Moyuru finds upsetting. Rapt and Moyuru help record Koichi's stamina test, expecting him to crash. To their incredible surprise, Koichi not only slides super fast, but stops with incredible control. During Koichi's accuracy test, Rapt throws up several cans, which Koichi pierces using his Shooty-Go-Kablams with impeccable accuracy. Shocked at Koichi's power, Moyuru and Rapt cower as Koichi seemingly points his hand in their direction.[10]
As they continue training, Rapt and Moyuru notice that while Koichi can shoot round targets just fine, he misses the human-shaped targets. As Soga suggests that Koichi subconsciously trained to miss people, Rapt nonchalantly suggests having Koichi practice shooting others while pointing at Moyuru, annoying the latter. Over the next several days, Rapt and Moyuru help Koichi train his Quirk while Soga formulates a plan.[11]
One day, they notice an explosion in Naruhata, prompting the four to move out and search for Kazuho.[12] As traffic is jammed, Koichi moves on ahead while Soga, Rapt and Moyuru find another way into the city. They notice sirens ringing, signaling Endeavor's arrival.[13] That night, Koichi, carrying an injured Kazuho in his arms, heads over to his allies' position to remove the Queen Bee. However, they are worried when Koichi reveals that Kazuho has been shot with a pheromone, throwing their plans into doubt.
Before Soga can extract the Queen Bee, Midnight arrives to help Kazuho. They explain the situation to her, so she tells them to cover their mouths as she uses her Somnambulist Quirk to put Kazuho and the bee to sleep. However, Rapt couldn't hold his breath and was knocked out by the gas.[14] Soga and his friends are later interrogated by Naomasa Tsukauchi, who takes note of their conflicting alibis about how they encountered Kazuho Haneyama. Eizo Tanuma later lets them go, and so they regroup with Koichi at Knuckleduster's warehouse. Soga comes up with a new plan to guard Kazuho's hospital via their own security checkpoint to prevent Number 6 from getting further to her.[15]
Naruhata Lockdown Arc#
Shortly after the police station was attacked by Number 6, Midnight calls Soga and informs her that Kazuho's condition is neither worsening or improving. Soga then gives Rapt the key to Koichi's apartment so that he can get a fresh set of clothes. Rapt notices that Koichi's apartment has been broken into, but brushes it off as it's not his place that was burgled.[16] The next morning, Rapt calls Koichi over from a rooftop, and the two eat. He tells him that Soga went to investigate what happened at Koichi's apartment after he told him about the break-in, briefly concerning Koichi.
Naomasa later confronts Soga and his friends, declaring that they will take over with security from this point on. As Naomasa demands they call Koichi, Soga gives him a wake up call to escape, and then runs from the police.[17] That night, Number 6 initiates his "Operation Anonymous" by cutting off power throughout Naruhata.[18] Number 6 invades the hospital, accompanied by several Anonymous. Rapt and Moyuru help carry injured police officers to safety, and Rapt reassures the worried Moyuru that Koichi and Soga will figure something out.[19]
Rapt and Moyuru are confused when the Anonymous stand still and wander around the hospital premises but are nonetheless uneasy as Number 6 goes in alone.[20] When Number 6 comes out, the two are disturbed at his talking to himself, but are surprised to see Koichi blast off away from the hospital. Koichi, however, returns, ready to face off against Number 6 himself.[21] As Koichi gets knocked down by Number 6's explosive punches, Rapt accidentally gives away his and Moyuru's location pointing out that Koichi might lose. As Number 6 gleefully tells Rapt and Moyuru to wait for their turn, Koichi comes back and neutralizes his explosive punches by creating shields using his Quirk.[22]
