Bee☆Pop[1] is a villain and one of the main antagonists of the Final Performance Arc in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.

With her Queen Bee Quirk, she possessed Kazuho Haneyama.

Appearance#

Bee☆Pop's true identity is the Queen Bee, where she looks like a queen bee with a disgustingly bloated abdomen.

While possessing Kazuho, Bee☆Pop's costume is a modification of her Pop☆Step Vigilante costume. It is designed to be more villainous and bee-themed: the costume is more revealing, she loses the mini-skirt and instead wears a belt with three red heart-shaped buckles, she drops her black mask, the devil wings are swapped for bee wings, and her tight stocking knee boots are replaced with looser knee boots. She also now wears thick black eye shadow, lipstick, and nail polish, and her hair is swept over her left eye. The costume is covered with honey-colored lines and stripes.[2] She has canisters on the sides of her belt, likely containing the drug Trigger.

While on Trigger, Bee☆Pop's skin is darkened, and her tongue is blackened. Her hair is also slightly pointier.

Personality#

Bee☆Pop's personality is a twisted fusion of Kazuho and the Queen Bee Quirk's parasitic influence. She originated as the remnant of the bee swarm controlled by Kuin Hachisuka, being cultivated and nurtured for several years by Number 6, until letting it possess Kazuho. Similar to her predecessor, she is highly sadistic, staging her attacks as "performances", during which she hacks broadcasts to display her singing talent while gleefully destroying buildings with her Bomb Bees under the pretense that she's making Naruhata more beautiful. She considers herself to be the "new and improved Pop☆Step", and casually treats her victims like an audience, encouraging them to look forward to her next "performance" while staying hyped. When Miu and Yu tried to reason with her, she brushed off their pleas before attempting to crush them with a billboard, telling them that danger is "sexy" and she enjoys being feared. She is known to make use of drugs like Trigger to enhance her Quirk, presumably to increase the destruction caused by her bees.[3]

Beneath Bee☆Pop's cheery and enthusiastic demeanor, however, Soga Kugisaki notes that she doesn't appear to be able to tell right from wrong and even seems to be suffering. At the heart of her crazed state lies her obsession with Koichi Haimawari, causing her to confuse strong feelings of love and hate.[4] She holds a deep hatred for Koichi and mocked him for being too late to try to reach out to her.[3] At the same time, she wants to ensure that Koichi never forgets her,[4] and her inner voice confesses that she once imagined a peaceful future in which Koichi and Kazuho get married and have children. However, she lost all hope of this ever happening, and resolves that she should die in one last, unforgettable act: a self‑destructive finale so perfect and devastating that Koichi will always remember his failure to save her. She tries to end her life by getting caught in the explosion of her Bomb Bees, but Koichi manages to break Bee☆Pop's control over Kazuho in time.[5] The Queen Bee is later safely removed from Kazuho's eye, kept in a jar by hospital staff.[6]

Abilities#

Overall Abilities: Bee☆Pop is a highly dangerous villain, having caused the destruction of several buildings during her "performances",[3] to the point where she was registered as a villain by the authorities despite being a minor and only having committed a single offense at the time of her first assault.[7] Her threat level prompted Endeavor to immediately take action and annihilate her as soon as possible with a wide-scale assault.[8]

Skilled Performer: Similar to her host, Pop☆Step, Bee☆Pop is a gifted singer, displaying her talent throughout her "performances" by blowing up neighborhoods while singing.

Quirk#

Queen Bee: Bee☆Pop's Quirk allows her to take control of a human host, and gives her access to a massive swarm of worker bees with her. While on Trigger, she can telepathically control the bees to a limited extent, but when she starts singing, the bees become hostile and go into an attack mode.[5] They can have different abilities, such as disrupting and hacking electrical signals.[3] Bee☆Pop seems to be largely unaffected when a bee is injured or destroyed,[2][3] unlike with Kuin where damage done to the bees inflicts pain on her.[9]

Former Quirk#

Leap: Due to possessing Kazuho, Bee☆Pop is able to access her Quirk. Leap allows Bee☆Pop to jump over buildings and kick off walls,[10] but requires a solid surface to jump off of.[11] She can use her Quirk to cushion her landing after she leaps, but cannot cushion herself from a normal fall.[11] It is unclear to what extent Trigger enhances Leap.

Ultimate Moves#

Bomb Bees: Using the Queen Bee Quirk, Bee☆Pop can create Bomb Bees, highly explosive bees that detonate when ordered to. However, the bees can also detonate inadvertently when exposed to substances such as flames. The Bomb Bees' power during Bee☆Pop's initial attack was compared to that of the amount of devastation Ryuichi Gojiyama brought while on Trigger as an Instant Villain.[7] Likewise, Endeavor notes that this move is strong enough to easily blow up a town and has the strength of a well-trained small army.[8]
