Koichi Haimawari, Shota Aizawa, the Hotta Brothers & Kirihito Kamachi vs. Ikajiro Takobe is a battle fought between the vigilante The Crawler, the Pro Hero Eraser Head, the dealers Jiro and Ichiro Hotta and the former Next-Level Villain Kirihito Kamachi, against Octoid, a new Next-Level Villain released by the Villain Factory in the city.
Prologue#
After discovering a new skill with his Quirk, Koichi goes out to patrol Naruhata's streets, as he usually does. On this occasion, Kazuho can not go with him because she is busy with school matters.
Meanwhile, Shota investigates the traffic of Trigger, going to the store of the Hotta brothers to see if he can obtain information from the black market.[1]
Battle#
During his patrol, Koichi encounters Octoid, a Next-Level villain with a Cephalopod-like Quirk that is on the loose. At first, Koichi instinctively calls Pop for help but remembers that the girl is not there to assists him. Filling in her role, he warns everyone to run away and call for emergency services, as Octoid turns his sights on him.
Koichi tries to flee while Octoid chases him, but he immediately manages to calm down and slides back around to face the Villain head-on. He realizes that, despite being very strong, the villain isn't very fast, so he believes he'll be safe as long as he keeps a safe distance, buying time until the police arrive. Octoid proves him wrong by tearing pieces off chunks of thenearby buildings, loading his numerous arms with debris, and beginning throw them at him with enormous force, forcing the scared Koichi to turn back around and escape immediately, as the confrontation is taken to an alleyway.
In his escape, he arrives near the Recycle Shop: Hoppers, where Shota and the Hotta Brothers are. A piece of debris thrown by Octoid breaks the glass of the storefront and crashes into the store, which puts the three on guard. When they get out, they find Koichi is warning everyone to get away while his attention is on him.
When Koichi comes face to face with Shota, and stars freaking out and tries to avoid the hero’s gaze as he realizes he is the same individual that went up agaisnt Knuckleduster several months ago. Shota also seems to recognize him and asks if he knows him from somewhere, but Koichi pretends not to know Shota and tries to act nonchalantly.
Before Shota can ask him anything, they hear a scream, as Octoid had decided to attack two schoolgirls. Shota jumps into action, telling Koichi they will talk later, and snags one of the villain's arms with his Capturing Weapon. He then uses his Erasure on Octoid, but his Quirk doesn’t works on him, realizing the villain is another bio-engineered subjects modified by the Villain Factory.
Ocotid pulls the binding cloth with his other arms to drag Shota towards him so he can hit him, but the hero jumps around to avoid his attacks. After getting some proper spacing, Eraser Head successfully wrap the villain in his biding cloth, restraining all six of his powerful arms.
Octoid struggles to get himself free, though Shota assures him it's not so easy to break free. The schoolgirls thank Shota for saving them, but he tells them to leave immediately. Believing he restrained the villain, Shota is caught off guard when Octoid pulls two hidden arms from his torso and is hit by a poweful blow, slamming against a nearby wall and dislocating his left shoulder.
Heavily injured, Shota sees the Hotta Brothers usher the girls out of the alley, as the Hero tries to refocus on the Villain attacking him. Unnable to move, Shota is okay with dying in this moment as octoid charge at him, ready to deliver the finishing blow.[1]
Out of nowhere, Koichi flies in-between the Villain and Eraser Head, while charging up a repulsing shot of his Scrappy Thrust Style move. He shoots Octoid a repulsion beam, hitting him in the throat and saving Shota's life, giving him time to get up. Shota addresse Koichi, who tries to play off his legally incriminating use of his Quirk as a random occurrence, but his excuses end when he sees Octoid gets back up, enraged by Kocihi's attack.
Ichiro and Jiro then rush in and transform themselves into their Grasshopper form by injecting a legal version of Trigger and attack Octoid, knocking him down with a tandem flying kick. The two brothers justify to Shota their actions by assuring him that they are using a legal version of Trigger and that they are acting in self-defense, with Koichi quickly jumping on grouping his actions as self-defense too. After putting his left arm in a sling using his bidding cloth, Shota tells them they will all be having a chat about that once is all over and accept their assistance.
Seeing Octoid get back up to continue the fight, Shota tells the others they must keep him in the alley so he doesn't return to the city and attack innocent people. The Hotta brothers aren't sure they can do it, and Koichi suggests going for help. Shota stops him and asks him i if he can fire off stronger blast. Koichi explain how his force blast works but says is to dangerous standing still and holding his ground against the villain.
Shota then asks him to draw Octois’s attention by hitting him with light shots while keeping the distance. Then, he ask the twins if they know an area where there are no civilians. Ichiro reluctantly says he knows a place, and everyone goes to the place while Koichi keeps shooting Octoid to make him chase them. Enraged, Octoid goes after them while hurling more rocks at the gang.
Meanwhile, Kirihito is peaceful in the Hotta Brothers warehouse, enjoying a cup of tea and listening music. Jiro Hotta suddenly arrives and suggests him to leave, but Kirihito admonishes him for invading his privacy without being announced, and then the other three arrive to the warehouse.
Kirihito thinks that what the four of them are doing doesn’t seem like his business, and he continues with his tea time, but suddenly Octoid burst into the warehouse and causes great mess in the place. This makes Kirihito mad and attacks the villain, while the Hotta brothers encourage their friend to cut off some of his arms with their scythes, since Ocotid has a lot to spare and nothing bad would happen to him. Shota tells them that things don't work that way.
However, Octoid quickly overpowers Kirihito, as the latter is much weaker now that he has no Trigger in his body. The twins ask for suggestions from Shota, with the Hero asking them to make an opening made him. The Hottas then leap into the Hotta Jump to distract the rogue Villain, and their distraction allows Shota to bind octoid’s eyes with his Capturing Weapon, blinding him.
This give Kirihito the chance to hold Octoid in place. The villain knocks the mantis man back and tears the Capturing Weapon off his eyes, only to see that Koichi is given enough time to charge a more powerful version of his repulsion beam.[2]
Koichi shoots the Shooty-Go-Blam at point-blank range, right in his opponent's chest. Unfortunately, the attack does nothing but piss off the villain even more, who sets out to chase Koichi through the warehouse. As the Vigilante keeps dodging and weaving around Octoid's attacks, the twins and Shota, who were hanging up on the ceiling, tell the man to keep buying them time.
The Vigilante then leads the Villain near the exit as the three up above crash through the window and set up a net with the Hero's cloth-like equipment. Koichi is able to lead Octoid into the net trap made from Shota’s scarf, who ends up fully restrained and hanging on one of the supports of the warehouse.
The group tries to recover from the fight, and they ask Kirihito to call the Police Force. He sets out to do it, taking the opportunity to elbow Octoid in the face. Despite being entangled, Octoid grabs her angrily, initiating a new fight between them. With all the shaking, the warehouse eventually gives in and crumbles, breaking the Villain free by accident, who take advantage of the confusion to run away. Kirihito says that what happened is not his fault, but the others tell him to shut up and everyone goes after Octoid again. [3]
Aftermath#
Koichi, Shota, and the Hotta brothers end up finding Octoid lying on the floor of an alley, badly wounded after receiving a brutal beating, but do not know who was responsible, although Koichi sees someone, but the mysterious person quickly disappeared shortly after he arrived at the alley. With nothing else to do, they hand Octoid over to the police.
The next morning, Naomasa Tsukauchi interrogates Shota about the villain, while wondering who has been responsible for leaving Octoid in such bad shape. Since he hasn't been a hero, the detective believes the culprit could be the infamous Knuckleduster, known for delivering brutal beatings to villains. Shota doubts it and tells the man to drop it and focus on cross-referencing Octoid's situation with any recent cases.[3]
