Ryo Inui

ArticleSource revision

Ryo Inui,[2] also known as the Hunting Dog Hero: Hound Dog, is a Pro Hero and was the Head of Student Discipline at U.A. High School.[4] Eight years after the Final War, he has resigned from the school and now works as a dog park owner.[5]

Appearance#

Ryo has the appearance of a dog due to his Quirk. He has a scruffy mane of blond hair sticking straight out behind his head. He also wears a muzzle over his slightly pointed snout in his hero costume.

Personality#

When angry, Ryo speaks in an incoherent and violent manner with a mix of words and a sound akin to a dog's growling.[6]

Synopsis#

U.S.J. Arc#

Ryo and several other U.A. teachers arrive at the U.S.J. to help Class 1-A and All Might against the League of Villains' attack.[7]

Shie Hassaikai Arc#

During the Opening Ceremony for the second term, Ryo speaks last in his role as head of school discipline. Unfortunately, his anger causes his speech to come out as a mix of words and incoherent growls, ending with a howl which scares a few of the students. Vlad King relieves Ryo of his speech and reiterates what Ryo wanted to say as the Pro Hero sulks away angrily.[4]

U.A. School Festival Arc#

Ryo and Ectoplasm are put in charge of security at the U.A. School Festival.[8] The night before the festival, Ryo is seen yelling at Class 1-A to go to sleep.

As the festival begins, Ryo smells the intruders[9] and heads out with several clones of Ectoplasm. They come across Gentle Criminal and La Brava after the criminals are beaten by Izuku Midoriya, and Gentle declares his surrender.[10]

After Class 1-A's Show, Ryo praises Izuku for preventing the festival from being canceled, however, he also scolds him for being out of line since he failed to contact any Heroes in the vicinity and reminds him that he is not the only Hero out there protecting the peace. Izuku acknowledges his fault which satisfies Ryo who sends Izuku flying towards the festival, telling him to have fun.[6]

Final War Arc#

In preparation for the Final War, the remaining Heroes prepare themselves for an all-out-war against an army of villains led by All For One. When Skeptic successfully takes control of both U.A.'s main system in the U.A. Floating Fortress and its subterranean evacuation system, he was preparing to cause the floating U.A. in the sky to plummet toward the ground. However, he is caught completely off guard when his systems have been hijacked by La Brava, who was working alongside the Police Force.[11]

As she proceeds to take over everything, Skeptic prepares to flee, insisting he won't relinquish control over U.A. or the evacuation system, taking the data with himself and the puppets. However, outside the Villains' secret hideout, Skeptic is shocked to see him cornered by several Heroes, including Hound Dog and the Ketsubutsu Academy High School students, as they were given a heads-up on his location by La Brava and were in the area. With Skeptic's hideout surrounded, Hound Dog mumbles about how fate works in very funny ways, regarding that he is working alongside the villains he captured at the School Festival, aware that Gentle was currently rescuing the floating U.A.[12] Skeptic is apprehended and arrested, with Hound Dog and the students transporting him as the fighting elsewhere starts to conclude.[13]

After Shota Aizawa regains control over "Kurogiri", he begins gathering up all the remaining Heroes to provide reinforcements for the final battle. Hound Dog is among the many Heroes warped to Mt. Fuji to face off against "All For One". The Villain prepares to attack them, but before he can, Hound Dog gives Thirteen a ride on his back and she starts to pull him in with her Black Hole, and is then countered by Gang Orca's Orcinus and Seiji's Meatballs. He tries to retaliate, but Burnin and several Heroes use their Quirks to divert most of the blasts, allowing more Heroes to swarm in and overwhelm "All For One" with endless attacks.[14]

Abilities#

Head of School Discipline: As the teacher in charge of student discipline at UA, he is feared by most of the student body. This is aided by his tendency to act animal-like when angered.
