Red Gauntlet is an Ultimate Move performed by Red Riot using the Hardening Quirk.
Description#
Red Riot hardens his body and strikes his opponent with a fist stronger than stone. This blow can break through attacks and act as both an offensive and defensive maneuver. Its power can be further boosted if Red Riot is using Unbreakable.
Red Riot first used this move to defeat the Blade Villain in Esuha Market.[1] He later uses it again when he and Deku break through a wall during the Shie Hassaikai Raid.[2]
During Mission: Humarise, Red Riot, in conjunction with Real Steel's Steel Fist, creates an escape route in the highway for the trapped civilians.[3]
Trivia#
- This move is similar in nature to Steel Fist.
- Real Steel's pose while performing his Ultimate Move is essentially the same as Red Riot's when the latter performed Red Gauntlet for the first time.
- This Ultimate Move's name was originally mistranslated in the manga as Red Gun Turret.[1] The intended name would later be used going forward starting in the Joint Training Arc.
- This also occurred in the English dub of the anime, though only in the simuldub release of the move's debut episode. The name was later rerecorded and corrected for the episode's debut on Adult Swim and is also present on the home video release.
