Mon was the pet dog of the Shimura Family. He was accidentally killed by Tenko Shimura when his Quirk first manifested and went out of control.
Appearance#
Mon was a small and moderately pudgy Welsh Corgi with ginger and white fur.
Personality#
Mon appeared to be a normal and friendly house dog. He enjoyed going on walks and playing with a young Tenko. He also barked at Kotaro Shimura for hitting Tenko when he learned that the boy snuck into his study, indicating a protective side. Tenko vented to Mon his frustration over his father's ongoing abuse for his desire to be a hero. While Mon tried to comfort the boy, he would be the first to fall victim to Tenko's Quirk.
History#
Mon was the pet of the Shimura family, and lived with them. One day, while Mon and Tenko were playing in the yard, Kotaro hit Tenko for sneaking into his study. Later that night, Mon would sit with Tenko while he cried, comforting him; however, Tenko's Quirk, Decay, manifested at that instant, accidentally killing Mon in the process.[1]
Mon's remains on the ground caused Hana to panic and scream in horror, and upon trying to grab her, Tenko accidentally killed her as well. Ultimately, the rest of the family heard her death screams and rushed over to Tenko, causing them all to die to his Quirk as well.[2]
Synopsis#
Star and Stripe Arc#
During "Tomura's" battle against Star and Stripe, after witnessing her New Order in action, Tomura realized a living target of her Quirk needs to have a sense of identity that matches with her own understanding. He wondered if New Order would affect Mon if the dog was called by his name.[3]
Final War Arc#
When Deku broke into Tomura's mindscape, he witnessed his memory of being hit by his abusive dad and subsequent comforting by Mon.[4]
