My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising#
Sometime after joining the League of Villains, Nine escapes and reunites with Hoyo and his teammates. He tells them that the experiment was successful and granted him great power, but also worsened the symptoms of his illness. Hoyo and his teammates are surprised and angered with the news, but Nine insists on finding a Quirk that can treat his illness, then their plans would be set in motion.
During the following weeks, Nine and his group attack various Heroes and steal their Quirks.
One night in Kyushu, they attack a civilian, Mr. Shimano, who happens to possess a Quirk that can heal Nine. Nine steals Mr. Shimano's Quirk and activates his Weather Manipulation Quirk to destroy parts of the city. Hoyo and his teammates are excited that they can turn their dream into reality, but Nine suddenly freezes up in pain, realizing that Mr. Shimano's Quirk isn’t compatible with his blood type.
Nine's crewmates lament over their struggle to cure Nine's illness being worthless, but Slice shows them a video recording of Mr. Shimano's children, Mahoro and Katsuma. Nine and his crew decide to aim for the kids, suspecting that one of them must have a Quirk similar to their father and might be compatible with his body.
The crew hijack a ferry and travel to Nabu Island and crash it into the harbor upon arrival. Nine orders his crew to cause as much destruction to isolate the island, as well as divert attention from their true goal while he hunts for the Shimano siblings.
Hoyo was using his Quirk, Mummification, to reanimate inanimate objects and attack the urban area near the mall. His assault is interrupted by Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser. Hoyo realizes that the Hero students are on the island, and begins to overpower Yuga, Minoru Mineta, and Toru Hagakure by using his Quirk again.
Yuga, Minoru, and Toru fend off against Hoyo and his seemingly endless army of puppets. Yuga and Minoru's Quirks reach their limits, but Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki arrive just in time to fight.
During their battle, Hoyo managed to wrap Katsuki up with his bandages and turned him into a mummified puppet using his costume. Hoyo proves to be too much for Eijiro and Denki, but Katsuki is able to free himself by detonating one of his Grenadier Bracers and knocks the villain unconscious using AP Shot in point-blank range.
Hoyo is captured, locked up, and chained inside the machine room in a factory, but refuses to give away any information after being questioned.
After Nine's defeat, Hoyo is arrested and taken into custody, along with Slice and Chimera.[2]
