Pinky's Dance is the forty-ninth chapter of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, written and illustrated by Yoco Akiyama.
Summary#
Mina Ashido and Midnight arrive in a city for Mina’s team-up mission. They meet two girls who explain what’s going on. As soon as the girls mention they like dancing, Mina busts a move—which gets a sai thrown at her. The girls explain that those stopping people from dancing are a group called the Rhythm Breakers, who attack anyone who dances. Mina declares that she’ll bring back dance if she has anything to say about it.
Mina confronts the leader and asks why she’s doing this. At first, the leader refuses to answer, then says she’ll explain if Mina does a windmill into a one-hand freeze. Midnight slowly begins to remember who the leader is. Mina tries to do the move but is hit by paintballs. When Mina asks why, the leader simply says dance moves aren’t allowed.
The two girls ask Mina what her plan is. Mina admits she doesn’t have one and just starts dancing, which upsets the Rhythm Breakers. Midnight then remembers the leader: she’s Maihime, a popular former dancer. Maihime lifts her goggles and yells that she hates all things dance—that’s why she’s a Rhythm Breaker.
As Mina continues to dance, the other girls join in, inspired by her, which angers Maihime. Maihime reflects on her life as a former dancer. Midnight starts dancing too, making Maihime wonder how they can be so thrilled to dance. Mina approaches Maihime and holds out her hand. Maihime takes it and sees how much everyone is enjoying dancing. She then disbands the Rhythm Breakers and thanks Mina for reminding her how fun dancing is. Maihime apologizes to the two girls and tells Mina and the others they’ll hit the town with their best moves.[1]
