Zombie Virus is the Quirk used by Romero Fujimi.[1]
Description#
Zombie Virus allows the user to release a pinkish gas that, when inhaled, temporarily transforms victims into zombies. Infected individuals gain the endurance of a zombie, enhanced strength, and the ability to transmit the virus through bites. If a Quirk user is exposed to the gas, their ability to control their powers is severely compromised; they can only use their powers randomly while in a zombie state. Their cognitive function is reduced to zero, leading them to focus solely on pursuing and biting those who are uninfected. However, they retain some aspects of their personality. In addition, they exhibit bluish-gray skin, sunken eyes, and a characteristic moan.
Weaknesses#
The user is not immune to the zombification effects of the gas, which forces Romero to wear a mask to remain unaffected. Additionally, the user is susceptible to being bitten by their victims and could turn into a zombie themselves. It's unclear whether it's possible to reverse the Quirk if the user is not a zombie or if time runs out.
Furthermore, any individual who has a zombie-like appearance will be perceived by the zombies as one of their own. For instance, when All Might returned to his skinny, depowered form, the zombie students left him alone, believing he was one of them.
It's also suggested that a zombified victim may still retain some self-control. For example, Habuko Mongoose didn't attack Tsuyu Asui despite being a zombie at the time, as the two were good friends.
