Varanus is one of the roughly seventy low ranking Villains that was recruited by the League of Villains for the assault on the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, making him a minor antagonist of the U.S.J. Arc.
Appearance#
Varanus is a tall man with a very distinctive hunchback and long neck, giving him a lizard-like appearance with his face resembling a skull of some sort of animal. He has three clawed fingers on each hand, protrusions running down his spine, four clawed toes on each foot, and goldish brown lines on his arms. The only clothing he wears are green pants with a black belt.
Personality#
Not much is known about his personality. Given he is one of the many villains willing to challenge the staff at U.A. High School, he can be assumed to be quite confident in his abilities.
Synopsis#
U.S.J. Arc#
Varanus is one of the horde villains who invaded the U.S.J. led by Tomura Shigaraki. Varanus joined in the attack against Shota Aizawa, but was defeated by the Pro Hero's Binding Cloth style shortly after Martial Hair's defeat. Varanus was later arrested alongside the other seventy recruited villains.

- Fitting to his reptilian appearance, Varanus shares his name with a genus of lizard, specifically monitor lizards.
